After a looooong winding drive through the beautiful Waipoua forest, we got straight into the pool to relax, then enjoyed a Pinã colada on the deck looking out at the stunning Hokianga Harbour. We had been warned to book for dinner as soon as we checked in, and we weren't disappointed. A walk to the trig station next morning was...

Room was large and clean but no air con or ceiling fan and it was a little stuffy upon arrival (2pm) and when we went to bed. Cooled down eventually. Grounds were absolutely delightful though. Views to die for. We had dinner in the bar/bistro-reasonably priced and food delicious. Well worth eating there. Same applies for breakfast. Good variety on...

A very comfortable hotel in a magic coastal spot, great colours amplified by the sand/ sea contrast. The hotel successfully blends the reasonably modern with colonial character. No air con, but no problem with good air movement through our unit. Staff are genuinely friendly. Good breakfast and excellent evening meal. Head office mucked up our booking, but not the fault...

Easy check-in, helpful staff, lovely dining room staff, great setting. Shame all facilities don't measure up to this. Room barely adequate for price, poorly provisioned, tired. And the WiFi, we'll that's a really problem. Keeps dropping out, seems slow, had to give up on 2 devices trying to carry out some work. You might say that's an due dye to...

The room was very basic, in need of repair especially in the bathroom area where mold had developed between the shower and toilet area. The bed was very comfortable. Lighting in the room needs urgent attention as does the decor. There are no pictures on the walls. How about some local art! There is no information folder in the room....

My wife and I love the place, exceptional service food and community, there are so many things to do whilst there, Sand dunes, house trekking & Footprints Waipoua guided tours. Every time we return to our room we are greeted by beautiful views of the Hokianga from a well maintained room. We rate the food especially during dinner the bar...

The first impression of the hotel and accommodation is good with wonderful views over the bay. However, on closer inspection the room was disappointing. It was very basic and rather tired and the bathroom was badly in need of renovation. Breakfast was adequate but nothing special. Sadly, the hotel does not live up to its location.

What a fabulous place to have a wedding. I had the pleasure of being Bridesmaid at one of my best friend's wedding on January 21st. Although I didn't stay at the hotel, I spent 3 days there from 20th-22nd January 2017. The staff we amazing- especially- Glen, Sama, Paris and your event manager- who's name escapes me at the moment....

My wife and I stayed one night as part of a mini-tour of Northland. We'd also stayed in Russell and Coopers Beach. This was the most expensive of our accomodations, but a bit disappointing. We were in a Garden room (23). The room is big, king sized bed, but it all felt a bit bare ... no paintings etc. The...

We spent one night here as part of an organised tour of New Zealand. I therefore have no idea what the cost of our room was but having looked at the hotel web site before setting out on our holiday was astonished to find that we were in what looked like a 1950s motel block with furnishings to match. I...
