We stayed here and actually ended up paying a fair bit more than their headline rate which wasn't a great start. Rooms were spacious, but the corridors and rooms resembled and old hospital and it was kind of creepy. The shower was HORREDOUS and I had two cold showers and it was like a watering can the pressure was so... More

We stayed here as part of a boat package deal. We had a 3 star boat and a 2 star hotel, but this hotel was way better than 2 stars. Super spacious room, clean and comfortable linens, mattress and pillow. Great balcony with filtered views of the bay. Friendly and efficient staff. We were very impressed.

Less than friendly service. Beds are rock hard and amenities very very average - we paid less for excellent service & breakfast in another hotel in Vietnam. Had to check out early due to storm and no apology or discount offered. Would not recommend despite a good view from room.

Although the hotel seems to be really old like the rest of the places on Cat Ba it surprised me with great cleanliness!!! The room smelled really good when I arrived. After every cleaning it was really good. Above that the location is great. Breakfast for that price (around 1USD) is good (eggs, pasta, jam, bread, coffe, tea). Worth recommending!

Went in the low season so got a good deal, the hotel is pretty nice compared to many on the strip. The rooms are very spacious and you get fridge, AC, toiletries, all the things you expect really. The breakfast was served next door at the backpackers hostel when I was there but it was pretty decent. The only drawback... More

I had forgotten the difference between the different star ratings which are based on a check list of the items or services that a hotel does or does not offer. Unfortunately, Cat Ba has very few three star hotels, and the one we found had terrible reviews. So we went to the GN hotel. Lovely situation on the waterfront if... More

We booked a 2D/1N tour to Halong Bay and Catba Island and ended staying in this hotel. This hotel is old and in need of refurbishing. However the rooms are spacious and reasonably clean. On our package, we had two lunches, a dinner and a breakfast. The meals there leaves much to be desired. All the meals taken there were... More

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The room was big and clean. The bathroom/shower was also very big. My room had a balcony with a nice view of the bay. I had heavy luggage so I was very glad to see that they have an elevator. They did some laundry for... More

We arrived there spontanously and someone showed us a room. What we found in the bathroom was a dead cocktoach, sourrounded by ants. We changed the room and had a horrible night. Everything smelled very old and musty; my girlfriend didn't sleep one hour at least(karaoke bar till 12 in the night, constructions at 5 in the morning, windows not... More

It's a bit outdated, it is not bad at all, but need a modernization. Rooms are clean and huge, but we missed a good atmosphere. It's a big (space) hotel which could need some freshing up. The location is perfect, and it was clean and had all one needs. We would give it a 6 - 6.5 out of 10
