The room was pretty bare, with your typical furniture. Everything worked but nothing was particularly pretty. For the really cheap price, that was alright. The hotel staff were friendly, but it was a bit hard to communicate occassionally

The hotel was ok, especially for the price (we paid 12€ a night). It was clean, but a bit cold at night. The hotel is directly in the center of Cat Ba. The room was a bit humid. The balcony was right in front of the wall of the next hotel. The owner of the hotel was very friendly and...

The rooms at Catba Palace are very spacious with a large bed, sofa and balcony. The staff were helpful and assisted us in booking a bus to Hanoi. The blankets on the bed were very thin but this wasn't a problem as the heating works well. The only issue with the room was that their was no drain in the...

Stayed here for one night. We arrived early but were able to check in to one room early with no extra charge. The staff here were very helpful and the location was good. They arranged us taxi tours to the national park and bike hire. Very well priced.

I booked 1 night in the Catba Palace Hotel. The following is my understanding (and seems not to match other reviews): The hotel named Cat Ba Palace was under construction. A lady from the hotel on the left called me to the reception and I check-in. I don't remember the name of the hotel. The other reviews suggest that Cat...

A very poor hotel. The room was dirty and dingy. The bathroom was also dirty and the shower was poor. The service was what made this hotel very poor. It took three seperate requests to ger our passports back. We were also told to hand our key in when we left but found no one around when we got back...

Old hotel very different from the pictures. It's a short walk from the Main Street with no view and poor rooms. Very basic bathroom with pathetic shower. we went in nov and changed hotels to a much nicer place for the same price $15 usd. Would not recommend. Lady at front desk unhelpful and refused to return passports. Desk was...

We slept on the 4th floor. Our room had a fluorescent light (not cozy at all) and the "curtains" didn't hide anything. The shower was dramaticly bad! The showerhead gave maybe 3 beams of water, so in order to have a descent shower we had to sit on the floor and use the tap below the showerhead. Just not okay.

Dirty sheets and bed was full of hair. Hotel next door was undergoing some construction work so very noisy. Shower weak and also dirty. Wanted to leave as soon as possible. No idea how this hotel is so highly rated.

The Catba Palace was clean and spacious. Good value for the price. The staff was helpful. It's down a side street which is good if you want quiet, but away from the main drag so you will have a walk to go anywhere.
