I stayed there with my family for a day. Its awesome from begining to end. Rooms are very clean , neat. Big rooms. Beds are also comfortable. Food is fresh always and made immediate on order ( as per availibility of Vegs ) . i have not seen any stored non-veg items in their Restaurant fridges. Staffs are very much cooperative. Advise - please active your wi-fi set-ups. I suggest families to stay here while staying Shantiniketan for few days.
Being a bit far from the main Bolpur and being pretty adjacent to the Prantik Station Vasundhara Inn earns mixed feelings in terms of location. Those who like be outside the hustle bustle of the city, those who like a bit quiet place, it’s here, and definitely it’s here in Vasundhara Inn. We stayed in a super deluxe room. It’s really a clean big room. Apart from milk white bed they provided one couch, two chairs, one center table, TV set, a big wash room and a wonderfully placed balcony, where you can watch the trains passing through from Prantik railway station from. For service, I am ready to give them 10 out of 10. Food, though good, still I feel some menus need to be taken care of a bit. And yes, this hotel is recommended. Thanks Vasundhara Inn.
Good rooms - spacious, neat, clean, very good for short family vacations like the one we took. Very close to the Prantik railway station (next station after Bolpur) - just 5 minutes walk from the station, however not all trains stop at Prantik. So if you are visiting from Bolpur you may need to arrange a vehicle. The staff is very courteous and the food is brilliant (Bengali meals). We stayed at the third floor rooms (301, 302, 303) and found them very comfortable. However the hotel is located slightly away from markets so those who are impulsive shoppers may not find the location very suitable - but the markets are not too far either.
It is near Prantik Rly Station. Very calm and quiet for family week end. Viswabharati University , Museum, many things of Sri Rabindra Nath Tagore are here. People from all over the world coming here. Lot of function, special occasions are there. Very interesting.
Visited shantiniketan on4-5 October.chose the hotel after reading reviews of others. The hotel is situated very close Prantik station. Hired a toto from Bolpur station to reach the hotel which took almost half an hour. If anyone wants to enjoy calmness and rural beauty then the hotel is good for him. Booked the hotel for rs 2000 per night which appeared to bit high compared to facilities they provided. Room has basic amenities. Food is tasty though bit overpriced and there is not much food option available near to this hotel. The guy present in reception is very helpful. One has to hire toto or any other vehicle to roam around the town. Met with a toto driver namely Ashok (contact no 8759014183) who was very helpful and and charged very reasonable price. Overall a nice experience.…
I was apprehensive seeing just two reviews on TripAdvisor (at the time of booking), but decided to give it a try anyways. Glad I did. Here is the list of some of the great things this hotel has in offer - 1. Tranquil location, away from the crowded market area. It's in the backyard of Prantik Railway Station, hence very easy to spot. But if you are taking a car, there is no direct road from the station. There's a winded "kachha" road from the main road (about 500 mtr) but it's easily drivable. DON'T DEPEND ON GOOGLE MAPS. The location on Maps is not correct and it throws up undrivable routes. Better set your map for Prantik station and ask locals when you are near. 2. Amazing and friendly staff always at your service with a smile. They kept all our requests. 3. Unbelievably good rooms for the price. All the Google images are real and there is no difference in the actual rooms (I'm posting some of my own clicks too). They are highly maintained too. Rooms and balconies are very spacious. 4. Very good food and rates are very reasonable 5. Walk from Prantik station and Toto stand (even if you are taking your own car, it's advisable to take a toto for local sightseeing due to the very narrow and crowded roads). 6. Parking is available, though it can fit 2 hatchbacks at the max. Can be a problem if there are cars already parked. Do check beforehand. Are there any deal breakers? Well, I liked the hotel too much and won't like to post anything negative (especially when the problem is quite out of their hands), but as an unbiased reviewer, I feel obliged to post a complete review from where the readers can take a proper judgement. As I said earlier, it is location at the backyard of Prantik Railways station, so train noise is a very big problem. You'll be awaken by the very loud train horn/whistle and it goes on throughout the night as it's a busy "through" track too. Wish they could do something about it, but doesn't seem like they have any options.…
I have just completed my trip of Bolpur in the mid of January' 2016. I stayed at Prantik, in Vasundhara INN Guest House. This place is just awesome in a single word ! The staffs were really polite and helpful. The rooms were neat and had an professional looks. I had stayed in many guesthouse and resorted for my office trip. Approach - the hotel is located in Prantik area, very near to the Prantik station; the area is covered with trees, and occasionally you can see a train or two passing by from the hotel balcony itself. If you are driving, the road branching off from the main road to the hotel is bad, though there's no traffic around. If travelling from Kolkata, take NH2 (Delhi Road), and then NH2B till Shantiniketan. The hotel - the hotel is spic & span, and rooms (incl. bathroom) are quite spacious with adequate lighting. We took an AC room; a double bed with a coffee table and two chairs, a wardrobe, a mosquito liquidator and an LCD TV were provided. Food options are limited, but is of good quality; try regular Bengali food such as rice, dal, bhaja, fish or mutton curry. Chicken pakora with tea sitting on the balcony during the evening will be an excellent experience. Staff is quite friendly; they can also arrange for toto (battery-driven local autorickshaw) to go around, if needed. They have limited car parking (I took my car with me) but you can keep your vehicle on the road itself without any risk whatsoever (its a newly developed area with nothing much around). Getting around - since Prantik is a little away from the Viswa Bharati University campus, you need to get a rickshaw or a toto to get around unless you have your own vehicle. The nearest walk is to Biswa-Bangla Haat, with a few shops selling local handicrafts (relatively at higher prices). Viswa Bharati University campus is the main worth-seeing site to go around - around 5km from the hotel. Amar Kutir (shopping/ local handicraft making) is around 17km, While going out, take an umbrella and/or caps with a bottle of water to beat the heat. Totos are expensive; better to walk (or drive) or take a rickshaw for local sightseeing while going around.…
