Anando Dhara Bohiche Bhubone.....these were the lines we friends hummed in our total stay in Rokto Korobi Resort. Incredible ambience...takes you to the rustic glory....all modern amenities are available...very helpful staff....always ready to accommodate.....If you want to feel Rabi Thakur straight from your heart and enjoy Baul in the morning with a warm cup of tea .... If you are the one who enjoys singing with the birds while the sun brings in a new day while gazing across the paddy fields....If you enjoy tapping your feet with the beats of Madol and Dhamsha holding hands with the gorgeous Santhal ladies......THIS IS THE PLACE TO COME....Awesome place to unwind...Special mention of Sourav Naskar, Sk. Rahim and Ranjit who were ever so helpful and always ready to make out experience unique......the smell of earth was constant and we were a group of 4 ladies who felt so comfortable and secured. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Clean Beds. Well sanitised. Regular housekeeping. All COVID norms strictly abided by......

I visited this place for the 5th time this Dec. This itself tells how much I loved it as a weekend retreat. But I must point out a few major disappints this time. 1. Not satisfied with sanitization 2. No temperature checks were done. 3. Lunch- though it was pre-ordered but not served. They served that to some one else. 4. Surprisingly no entry was done in register. 5. Service guys were hardly wearing masks. The manager was not wearing at all. 6. The Baul singer was spitting here and there. 7. The cups in the room and even in the dining hall had cracks. We had to change twice for a cup of tea. I am extremely sad that such a beautiful place has deteriorated as much. I hope this review will make the management sit up and take action to bring back this place to its glory.

This review is going to be a long one, apologies in advance. My sister and I stayed here for one night during weekend. First the good part: It is a nice property away from noise and dust of the town. There are a lot of trees, a pond and nice walking path on the property. The grounds are very well maintained. The food is excellent and service staff very attentive. We stayed in one of the rooms in the white three-story building. The building is new and clean. Our room was quite large with attached balcony and bathroom. Bathroom was clean (I am very particular about cleanliness of the bathrooms). Furniture was nice and more than enough for a short stay. Balcony had a nice view of the garden. Now not so good part: The bed sheets appeared not have been washed. There were some dirt marks on them and on the pillowcase. Now you might ask did we bring this to the attention of the staff at the time. We did not. You will see the reason on the next paragraph. We were given the local manager's contact number by the sales agent in Kolkata. The manager's name is Pradip. We gave my sister's phone number as contact number. The manager contacted us about our arrival time and lunch order. He also gave us a contact number for a Toto-guy. So far so good. We arrived Sat afternoon and checked in. The manger kept our ID cards for some reason. Usually hotels take a copy of the ID and gives it back. Anyway I did not think much of it at the time. We were shown to our room. In the afternoon we went to the Khoai Haat. While we were shopping we ran into the same manager, we said hi. He gave us our ID cards back, he had them in his shirt pocket. Again, bizarre to say the least. Gave me an uneasy feeling. After dinner we wanted to go for a walk around the garden. It was very dark and we were not sure if it was safe. My sister asked the manager via text if it was ok for us to go for a walk at late evening. We did not hear back from him till midnight. That is where it started to get very uncomfortable. He texted my sister (I was asleep by this time) that he is waiting outside for us for go for a walk with him. Yes, you read that right. Who does that? We never said that we would like to go for a walk with him. My sister replied that we are in for the night. He kept calling and texting her repeatedly. We were afraid as the property is in middle of nowhere and we did not know how far he will go. The next morning, we had breakfast, and walked around the property. He was at the front office and pretended all is normal. We checked out at 12pm, and went about our day. He kept texting my sister about how much he likes body massage and other vulgar things. He is so dumb that he sent all of these via texts. So we do have written proof that this happened. We have informed the Kolkata booking agent about this and sent him (his name is Kedar I believe) a copy of the texts. He (Kedar) apologized, but we don't know if any action will be taken. So long story short, we will not be revisiting. I am not going to tell others what to do, but if you are a young woman travelling with other women or solo avoid this place. It made us feel extremely unsafe, and that is the last thing you want when you are trying to have a nice relaxing time.

this is a hidden gem 4kms off Bolpur Suri Road. In Shantiniketan but away from the nuisance. U drive straight and hit Shonobarer Haat. Set in a rural setting with no hotels nearby. Great staff, always welcoming. Cook Robin is a master of Bengali cuisine. We stayed in the newly constructed cottage. Oh what a cottage..absolute 5 star

We stayed here 3 nights on Holi break.. It was OK type till the moment Mr Anish Biswas started behaving rude to us for the reason best known to him. He even ignored previously agreed commitments to serve certain meal because he didn't like our tone. As we felt disgruntled, it may seem easier for us to live with the problem, write off the hotel and never go back. On the day we were supposed to check out (check out time was endorsed by Hotel management by the way), we received calls every 2 minutes from 12:00 sharp to check if we had left our room. When told that we needed another 15 minutes, the Manager said, “No, only five minutes for you to come to the reception to hand over the room key as some guest would be arriving soon.” We were appalled at his level of service. The room remained locked till 4 PM and no guest checked in when we started to catch the departing train ! We were even more upset when the first thing Anish Biswas said to us in front of other guests at the reception during check out at 4 PM , “Faltu Public !!”. We were so surprised at his remark that we just didn’t know what to say to him !”? And before you ask yourself, “can it really be that bad?” Trust me, yes it can” How can a place so awful be a part of such a beautiful place like Shantiniketan ? Do not stay here under any circumstances. Please. Regards,

Look, I'm really not interested that, Mr. Anish Biswas is gem of a person or rowdy man. He is probably one of the staff. I'm sure , he is very selective while behaving with guests. Other staffs were good , food were average and ambience is good. This is my message to all the founders, wish your business growth and hope my feed back will be accounted!!! Regards.

Dear Guest, Thank you for choosing to stay at Raktokorobi Karugram Resort, Shantiniketan/Bolpur and for taking out time to share your experience. As you have not mentioned your name or even the stay detail, it is rather difficult for us to identify what actually has bothered you (or can we presume you to be among the guests who stayed in three rooms between 21/03/2019 till 24/03/2019 and posted feedback of unpleasantness in TripAdvisor during the last few days). But again we definitely will try to improve ourselves and of last but not the least it has been an honour to serve you and we look forward to welcome you again soon. Warm regards K. Gupta

Well this is a place where I visit twice a year since 2013. I have seen the resort from the scratch what it was in 2013 and where it is standing now.The management has done a entire uplifting of the property, so again I write point wise: Pros- 1. Food is awesome 2. Sleep quality awesome 3. Children activities added 4. Excellent staff mainly the General Manager Anish Biswas, a gentleman in true sense. 5. Introduction of local folk and arrangaing tribal dance is an add on. Note- tribal dance was a paid program by us. Cons 1. Intercom or calling bell is missing in the room. 2. The restaurant area needs air-conditioning, but I prefer without it as it's interiors is beautifully decorated. Finally I appreciate Mr. Biswas's humble behavior and I thank him and the entire staff that they took care of all the boarders very well inspite of some other group members who were very complaining and misbehaving with every staff without any reasons(what my family and me had personally witnessed and felt).I thank him personally for arranging a doctor as my sister needed a anti tetanus injection as she fell down in sonajhuri haat and had a bad injury. Thank you all for such a warm gesture. See you all soon.
