The property was originally a family home which has recently opened for home stay. It has an intimate and comfortable ambiance as a home stay should. Rooms are spacious and clean and not overly formal, as are the toilet amenities. It is located close to the major sites, so transportation is not a problem. We were able to walk to many of the locations we needed to go to. The owners are very friendly and cultured and are great company. They are food and wine enthusiasts. As a result the cuisine is varied and excellent.

The family home continues to be so - a 'homestay'! Walking, cycling, rickshaw rides or taxis can be used to explore the place. It is a great pleasure to meet interesting and cultured guests who leave as friends...

We had a wonderful day with Nayana. She met us at the station, cooked for us, entertained us and showed us around Shantiniketan. The house was charming. As were Nayana and Shaubir. The perfect base for visiting Shantiniketan.

And we're picky travelers. If you like stuffy, corporate and regimented, this place is emphatically not for you. But if you're looking for a relaxed, laidback time in an eclectic home in the company of two very cool human beings, then book here. It's like staying with friends who are really focused on giving you a good time. Nayana and Saubir took care of everything -- including booking our train from Calcutta, picking us up at the station, showing us the sights, cooking delicious meals and just hanging out and chatting. They steered us toward the right places for authentic arts and handicrafts. And it's an amazing value for money. Our only regret is that we only stayed one night. Feel like we made two new friends. Can't wait to return to this cool, relaxing getaway from
