At Deer Park Eco Home, you'll feel more like staying in a home rather than a hotel. We will try and make you feel comfortable and looked after as much as we can. Ours is a small house - simple, clean, very close but tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the main town. Located at the lap of nature, overlooking the Ballavpur forest from the rooms, it is walking distance from Santiniketan Mela Ground. Staff is friendly and warm, with cozy, clean and spacious rooms.

It was a home stay without a kitchen access by the guests. The stay was at all enjoyable due to the non courteous staff/main caretaker. Room rent was very high in comparison to similar guesthouses/home stays. Toilets were not at all clean. The simple crockeries viz tea cups were very cheap quality products and were also cracked. Unbelievable! No soccer and tea pot were provided. Electric kettle was absolutely dirty. We took two rooms for two nights, one in ground floor and another in first floor. At night the first floor toilet's geaser and exhaust fan both were switched off by the caretaker. We asked for a second blanket for the first floor room and got one but that was taken out from our ground floor room! We had to take food as per the caretaker's choice and not as per our choice! So sometimes we were forced to take meals from outside. And the worst part of it was the rude and impolite behaviour of the caretaker lady named Namita. I will not recommend anyone to stay in this property.

Our group consisting of 6 family members and one friend visited on 30th and departed on 31st Oct. Though the location and ambience was very nice, the lady caretaker was not very forthcoming and rather, quite unfriendly. She just wouldn't intimate us about dinner or breakfast beforehand and on enquiring, she would say that it's too late now to prepare the same. We only could have lunch on arrival as because the owner had informed us in advance, though the price on Rs 350/- per head for non veg is highly exorbitant. On 31st we departed 1hr later than the check-out time only because she didn't prepare breakfast (just because we couldn't intimate her!!) and consequently we were forced to get the same from another resort after a long wait. However, she started demanding a late exit fee of Rs 150/- per hour per room. After a lot of arguments, she relented after having consulted the owner. It would have been a worthwhile trip had it not been for the lady caretaker's wrong and horrible hospitality approaches. M Bhattacharya Hyderabad

In the very beautiful Shantiniketan, deer park is at one corner near the forest guest house, it is perfect from a location perspective. The attendant is very caring and good. To see places there are electric rickshaws that are available on the small arterial road. The place is rustic and simple which the key to being in this part of the world.

I stayed in this hotel for a night on 16th November. I was travelling with my parents and kid, so asked for a 4 bed room and obviously chose the deluxe room. It was shocking to see that there was a tiny room full of one double bed and another cut out portion having a small bed and a bunker bed. The cut out room does not have any AC, but Ac has to go from the other tiny room. There was a fan but it did not reach either of the beds. There was no hot water and we had to ask for every small thing to the staff. In other words, it was not there. It appeared as if everything was a effort. The bathroom is like a typical house bathroom, where there were two bricks. Not that clean. I checked in two hours early and they charged me for that!! I asked for lunch (vegetarian thali). and food was horrible. Just potatoes and three thali comprised of only good enough rice and nothing else good!! If you want to stay there for a night or so, make sure you get your food from outside.

I was here for an overnight halt on a business trip to Shantiniketan. The location may be a little difficult to locate, but its near the deer park. The room alloted was spacious for 1 person, with an annexe for another person to stay. The bathroom had hot water, however, do carry your own toiletries. There was a single lady staff I saw who was catering to all the occupants. She served the meals. The meal quantity was adequate and taste was good too. However, one needs to manage with other residents, as there was only a single dining table. The rooms and facilities was clean. The payment is accepted by them in cash at the time of checkout, as they did not have other payment modes.
