Traditional auberge in centre of a quiet village about 10kim from the junction of the A5 & A31. The basic but clean & comfortable rooms are about 50m up the road next to the church and above the former café/epicerie, which is sadly now closed. The old café is now used as a pleasant dining room where a good breakfast...

Lovely, quiet village. Friendly people. Good accommodation, clean, tidy. Not five star but perfectly adequate for an overnight stop. Menu was good, went for the €19, four courses, lovely, good quality food. Comfortable beds, slept well.

A great place to stop off for a quiet overnight stay. Lovely little restaurant and excellent service. Only downside was we were woken up at 8am by knock on our door asking if we were coming to have breakfast even though we had already explained that we wouldn't be.

Travelling through France for the last 25 years, being both journalists and photographers and being Francophiles we never experienced an encounter like this. Planning to travel through the area, we rang the L’Auberge de la Fontaine’, despite the very mixed reviews. Already on the phone they lied and insisted, that the ‘Chambre Superieur’ was situated in the main building. Having...

Countryside hotel just a few clicks of the route de soleil. Traditional auberge without too much fuss. Located in a charming village square, where time froze up a couple of decades ago. The bedrooms are located in a separate building next to the church. Which will, by the way, make itself known by ringing its bells frequently. Room comfort is...

The very small and beautiful village of Villers sur Suize is in the middle of nowhere, built of the local very pale stone, and sits on the river Suize. The Auberge iitself is very old . The rooms are clean and each has its own very very small ensuite, definitely only for one at a time!

We booked one night as a stopover after reading many reviews. We must have got the wrong room (No. 1?). On arrival, we were greeted warmly and pointed to another building 100m up the hill. Our room was tucked away in a corner behind a concrete staircase which led to upper rooms. It was naturally dark but not helped by...
