Went to Grassington for the Dickensian Christmas Festival this weekend. Thought we'd get in the Devonshire early before the crush and were pleasantly surprised by the choices on offer for the set menu. Placed our order after deliberating for some time over which main course to choose as they all sounded delicious. However, when we saw the meals coming out...

In early November our family party stayed at the Devonshire in grassington. We had a very pleasant time, good food, excellent real ale and comfortable rooms. The staff were helpful and nothing was too much trouble, all the ladies chatted away to us when serving food or drink. All in all a very enjoyable 3 night stay and we will...

Just spent a wonderful night here.On arrival we were welcomed by a staff member and shown to the 2 rooms we had booked. The rooms were on the first floor(numbers 3&5) and were simply gorgeous. They were well proportioned with a large double which was so comfortable and accompanied by firm pillows and a sumptuous duvet. The decor was immaculate and we even...

For the first time since Timothy Taylors took over this pub, we had a good meal and pleasant evening. The beer was good (somebody cleaning the pipes again?), the red wine served at room temperature by efficient and pleasant bar staff. The menu was simple fare as is true of many dales pubs, with a few notable exceptions. With a...

First impression was not good. Three people behind the bar whilst we waited to announce our arrival, all of them ignoring us. Once we got served things improved. The room we stayed in (No. E) looked like it had been recently refurbished and was well up to the job. Great position overlooking the square Breakfast was a laid back affair...

10 of us stayed for one night last weekend in 2 family rooms and one double. All three rooms were very spacious but felt cosy with the welcoming decor. The bathrooms were excellent, clean and very modern looking. We ate dinner in the restaurant and the food was excellent quality and the portions were massive. The steak and ale pie...

We stayed for our 35th wedding anniversary. Lovely big room overlooking the square with a good sized bathroom. Breakfast was good plenty of choice kept you going for the day. The village had a few powercuts while we were there, but still had a good time. Had evening meal in restaurant and again food and service was very good. Lovely...

We stayed here recently and the room was lovely. A large super king size bed which was very comfortable. The room was well appointed and very clean. What let the hotel down was the restaurant. We booked in for the first night and ordered a pie and a burger. After 45 minutes a pie and sausage and mash arrived. Informed...
