Not just an ancient Thai house, Not just a temporary beauty. Dhabkwan mirrors the traditional Thai way of life and transports you back to those precious moments of the past. Located in a truly authentic atmosphere, a cluster of 6 Thai style houses built from the Ayudthaya period take your imagination back to a Thai way of life surrounded by attentive staff. The sweet smell of White Champaka and Jasmine among other fragrant flowers delight the senses, evoking relaxing and peaceful memories of the past. All spacious houses with large terrace and open aired area underneath the house / private garden. Our concept is base on: teak wood, the spirit of Thai flowers and contrasts of modern amenities. Every piece of wood came from the North of Thailand and guild by traditional builders from Chiangmai. Believe it or not? The breathtaking atmosphere, the beautiful and cultured way of life practiced here will put you under a spell from your very first visit.
Prepare for disappointment. We booked through booking.com - emailed the resort to confirm it was quiet as mentioned in other reviews. Which is absolutely not the case!!! Close to main road traffic noise all through the night. No hot water for bath or shower or Mosquito nets. And to make it worse we paid cash on arrival and they charged my bank card when we left.

We found this resort a true hidden gems for Thai food and ambience just in Bangkok vicinity. We love the Authentic Thai food here with great variety and taste. Its Thai wooden houses serving as a resort with five Thai centuries old houses for five room surrounding lotus pond and grown trees will sure make you love And immerse in Thai life. The resort is priced at incredibly cheap lower than US$70/night for a Thai house that is hard to find today.

We stayed here for three nights at the end of our 2 week Thailand vacation. What a pleasant surprise! The website pictures does not do it justice. We have never seen such an accommodation (we are American) so were seeking as much Thai culture as we could absorb. We have Thai friends who came with us to see the hotel and were so impressed with the authentic layout, traditional Thai style and lovely gardens and layout of the property. There was a Thai wedding going on one of the mornings so we were fortunate to be able to enjoy the beauty, hear the monks chanting and see quite a bit from our terrace as well. If it weren’t for the traffic noise, this place would be a total paradise. However, have to remember the place is in the city and right off a main road so have convenient access to highways nearby. Owners have done an extraordinary job creating a serene and aesthetically beautiful layout that takes you away from it all. The staff is extremely attentive and polite. English was a little bit of a challenge but we were able to communicate just fine. Highly recommend if you are an adventurous spirit!…

We visited this very nice small resort because of a wedding party. We stayed one night in one of the beautiful Thai style wooden houses. The house was large, very convenient, full equipped and including aircon but no wifi. The resort is very quiet in the middle of the city (Bangkok Nonthaburi). Easy to reach by car, close to highway 302.

The Dhabkwan is an escape from the hectic pace of the city, offering a rare opportunity to stay in a traditional style Thai house set in attractive gardens. Each of the villas has a spacious veranda with views across a large lily pond and the teak wood flooring and walls evoke a past age. We had an extremely comfortable bed with a canopy mosquito net and the deliberately old fashioned bathroom was perfectly adequate. On the ground floor was an enormous wooden hot tub, something to try another time. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we checked in, every member of staff being friendly and helpful. Breakfast, Asian or American, is served in your room or in the attractive dining room. This is a great place to spend a few days chilling out, but if you are looking for a base from which to tour Bangkok you could feel rather stranded. Nonthaburi is quite a distance from the city centre and the Dhabkwan is not an easy place to find. A lot of road construction has taken place here recently and outside the hotel entrance you find yourself surrounded by motorway intersections and flyovers (our villa was nearest to the motorway but we were not disturbed by traffic noise). Unfortunately there are no easy walks. The Chaopraya is very near and we were told that a water taxi pier is only a short tuk tuk ride away. This could give you access to the main tourist areas via the river. A new elevated railway, the MRT Chalong Ratchadham (purple) line, runs SE to end at Tao Poon but will soon link with the Subway at Bang Sue and extend to Democracy Monument and beyond. This will make it much easier to access the rest of Bangkok from Nonthaburi. The Dhabkwan is a few blocks away from Yaek Nonthaburi 1 Station on this line. A final word of caution; Nonthaburi is renowned for flooding in the rainy season.…

It was a really small resort with i think only 8 villa's. The villa's were decorated and furbished to give that old thai traditional feeling but all modern facilities were available. The positives were very accommodating staff. They really do try to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The bath tub is huge and the wife and i enjoyed it! The in house restaurant food is awesome! A must try though a little pricey. My only negative remark is that the resort is in the middle of nowhere in Bangkok. There is nothing in Nonthaburi so prepare a budget for cab but i find metered taxi in bangkok priced ok. Oh though despite the resorts best effort to keep mosquitoes away it is best to get your own mosquito coils. Mosquitoes are plenty full.

I suffered a terrible experience in this hotel and found that their offers made on agoda.com were unreliable. I booked and paid for one night in this hotel for 140 sqmt villa with breakfast, flower bath and massage on agoda.com in November 2013 in response to their promotional offers. Later on the day of check in upon landing in at Bangkok, I saw email from hotel stating that they would not give flower bath and massage as the offers made by them on agoda website were by mistake. However, she offered full refund of the booking amount if i cancelled the booking as those offers were made due to their mistakes. I called the assistant manager of the hotel from the airport and she refused to honor the booking. I tried contacting the manager but he refused to come on line. I contacted agoda.com and after some communication, they offered free room in another hotel and apologized for the terrible event. In this process, I had to cancel my business meetings and had to wait for 5 hours to check in to another hotel. It was not an expensive affair for them to honor their promotional offers as they would very well know that last minute refusal to honor booking would jeopardize the plans, cause inconvenience to international travelers besides they lose 10-12% on account of refunds due to currency conversion in case of cancellations. Financial losses however in this case were covered by agoda.com fully well. Since the reservation itself is not reliable hence I would not recommend anyone to stay in this hotel. Nobody likes such hassles on arrival.…

We recently visited this little gem with some friends. A lovely place with just 20 nice rooms - a little quaint but if you have a reason to need to be in nonthaburi this is the place to stay. Everything is old thai style - rooms are very spacious and service friendly and sincere. Breakfast is best taken on your private terrace overlooking the small lake.
