Detailed Reviews
During a recent three plus weeks vacation in India, my friend and I found no warmer and more gracious hosts than Sreeni and Meera, the owners of Neelambari in Kerala. Their immaculate and attractive eco-resort near a wide, winding river in the Thrissur District was a welcoming change from the cooler weather and more active pace of Rajasthan. In addition to savoring Meera’s delicious and varied vegetarian meals, there still was plenty to do including a visit to the fascinating Ayurveda Museum, an astounding martial arts demonstration and an amazing performance of the ancient art of Kutiyattam in Neelambari’s theater. Our time in this magical spot will remain among my treasured memories of India.

Neelambari is a peaceful oasis in a rural village by the Karuvannur River near Thrissur, the cultural centre of Kerala. Sreeni and Meera welcome you in their traditionally Kerala-style built wooden home and are ready to serve you with delicious food, and make your stay in their charming place as enjoyable as possible. They will organize cultural trips as well as Ayurvedic treatments for you, working together with a nearby clinic. I especially enjoyed the dusty morning walks through the paddy fields, as well as the canoe trip to a temple festival. Thanks a lot for nice memories ... I hope to come back and see you again ❤

Had a wonderful stay at Neelambari resort with family and would love to visit it again! A perfect hideout for people who want to relax in a peaceful environment without any disturbance, enjoying the beauty of pristine nature. It is peaceful pollution free place far from city noise, surrounded with lush green trees.
They have a natural pond, tree house, Ayurvedic spa and a badminton court to spend time. Staff members are warm, friendly and helpful.
Ms Meera who is in charge of kitchen is an amazing person and they provide simple and variety food according to our taste, which is utterly delicious! The staff is very hospitable, humble and well spoken ! Thanks a million toMr. Srini who made the booking process seamless.

Highly recommendi!
We arrived at a place that became home for us.
The staff is lovely and takes care of all the details. The owner and his wife are very present and make sure that everything is fine and beyond.
The place is inside a village, it is very interesting to walk in the village, to have authentic experiences, beyond that there are many other interesting activities such as canoeing, a cooking course, a visit to an artists' village..
In addition, a clean river flows near the entrance gate that allows a morning bath together with smiles from the locals. A pleasure!
The food at the place itself is great and they are very attentive to the needs of those who stay with them. From the heart.
And a personal addition: my wife had injured during visit to the cinema in the nearby city, and they took care of a wheelchair for her, sent one of the staff members with me and my husband to the hospital, took care of our son's activities during this time..
We will not forget the place and the people in Nilanbari. Totally an experience of a lifetime!

Neelambari was our last port of call on our South India trip. We chose well! Every aspect of our stay was first class. The food was exemplary, our host(s) were warm, knowledgeable and very helpful. The accomodation was clean and of a very high standard. The setting was peaceful and very picturesque.
Our only regret is that our stay was way too short, maybe next time we'll stay for longer.
Highly recommended.

A beautiful setting in the middle of so much nature and tranquillity, Neelambari Resort is a perfect place to relax and rejuvenate your mind, body and spirit. Sreeni, Meera and their staff were so welcoming and went above and beyond the call of duty to make my stay very special. My double room included a dressing area, very large wet room and a huge terrace, all of which was tastefully decorated. The cleanliness and comfort of the bed and amenities were superb.
The traditional Kerela food, cooked fresh every meal time was a sheer delight and such a treat. It was so wonderful to eat fresh fruits lovingly prepared to complement the meals.
Sreeni is a very humble Gentleman, a superb host and very attentive to his client’s needs. The events that he arranged were authentic, traditional and so interesting. I was blessed to see the stunning elephants at Pooram festival, an absolute dream come true for me. It was such a joy to learn about Indian arts and culture, especially the visit to the Ayurveda Museum. My 2 weeks stay included an Ashtangam Retreat programme with the renowned Yoga Master Ajan Yogi. The personal program contents and structure worked beautifully and served my Yoga and Meditation practice well. My sincere, heartfelt thanks to you all for making my stay in your beautiful resort so very special. Kind regards Dawn (Spain)

We really enjoyed our stay at Neelambari, which we visited to attend a wedding. The traditional architecture, excellent service and wonderful surroundings made for the perfect opportunity to relax and recharge away from the hustle and bustle. Sreenie, Meera and the staff went out of their way to ensure we had an enjoyable stay, including lending us bikes for a tour of the picturesque surroundings (rice fields, river etc), organizing aryuvedic massages and cooking delicious local food. We enjoyed a quick dip in the natural pond, surrounded by fish as well as the resort's birds, butterflies, swings and tree house. The pond, sounds of the outdoors and sometimes patchy WiFi may not be for everyone, but for us it just added to the natural surroundings and ability to shut off. We highly recommend Neelambari for anyone seeking an authentic Kerala experience.

We were looking for a traditional and unique place as a venue for our marriage. It was by luck that we found Neelambari on google.
We decided to visit the place with our families and we were at "awe" seeing the place. Neelambari is rich with Kerala traditions, the mural art, the koothambalam and every part of it has beauty and elegance.
The environment is so tranquil that there was no better place we could have wished for. We approached Srini with our requirements and he extended his full support, from how to manage the guest list to how to use the space efficiently,he was with us throughout the planning phase and made us feel comfortable.
Neelambari has an experience of its own as it blends itself with nature away from all the hullabaloo. We vouch for the beauty and service of this place.A must visit!

Everything about this place was 5 stars! The host and hostess of the resort go all levels to keep guests happy. The food here was out of the world and the hygiene here too deserves a mention. Sreeni and his wife really know how to run a authentic Kerala resort. My compliments to the staff and the owners

Comfortable a/c rooms. Kitchen is common with dining room. Hostess in charge of cooking and it is excellent vegetarian ( meat and fish by request and extra cost). Beautiful yoga hall in main building built in traditional Kerala style. Host organises trips around region which are a mix of culture, history and workers co-ops which are interesting. Nice river trip with electric powered motor, no noise to disturb wildlife.
Large temple nearby with big elephant festival about may time.
