Mont Rouge guest house is the best place to stay in Clarens. The host, Rian is the friendliest host I've ever met. The guesthouse has a unspoiled view of the mountain an has a spectacular, peaceful garden. If you're looking for a place to stay, look no further.

We stayed in Clarens at this accommodation and were pleasantly surprised at the hidden gem. Situated in the valley with a excellent view to the mountain, and walking distance from town, this self-catering accommodation had a newly refurbished duplex in pleasant pastel colours of light blue and white with two bedrooms and a kitchen, lounge area with outside 1st floor decking...

Beautiful, situated right next to this mountain, this must be the best kept secret in Clarence. We stayed in the newly renovated section, overlooking the lovely garden. There are hiking trails outside where you can walk through a fairy tale world. Not youre average run-of-the-mill guest house.

We spent 2 lovely nights at the Mt Rouge Guest House - we were booked into "The Attic"which was so comfortable - they had put a lot of thought into ensuring comfort for their guests. We love spending time in Clarens !

Well taken care of, nice views, well maintained, the man welcomed us in and showed us around the house is very humble, polite and interesting! No breakfast provided which in my opinion puts this nice place behind its competitors, the gentleman there, his name I forgot, is keen in introducing changes to the place so more happy guests will visit,...

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review. The guesthouse do not serve any meals and this is mentioned in the quotations we sent out to all our potential guests. The Lavender Room is a tastefully decorated one bedroom unit with coffee/tea making facilities.(coffee/tea/sugar included). This room does not have a kitchen. There is a deck at the entrance to the...

Although the room was a bit small I strongly recommend this guest house. Clean, with bath and shower and well placed at the foot of a mountain but within very easy distance to all shops and pubs. The manager was friendly but not intrusive as some can be.

Reception on our arrival was excellent, everything was explained to us about the accommodation, where to go for pleasure and shopping, how to get there. The location was perfect for relaxation and the premises were clean and quiet.

A lot of space, a quiet place, great view, very friendly - perfect for us! We can highly recommend it. Clarens is next to the Golden Gate National Park, which is a wonderful place to do some hikes, to watch Zebras etc.

“Stay in the main house. Saw that there was another room in a log cabin of sorts and read a review here which said it was poor value - so cannot comment on that other room. The main house, however, was excellent value at 500 Rand per night.”
