We found the proprietors very helpful. Lovely old building Bed Room was very comfortable and nice bedding. Breakfast probably one of the best on our 4 week trip. The gardens carefully cared for. Our night stopover was so relaxing could have stayed longer

This a truly a beautiful place. The house itself is so interesting, decorated with beautiful antiques and interesting pieces. The staff is friendly, warm and so gracious. The location of this house is also something special. Located in a historic street and at the foot of the mountain. It is just so beautiful. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

The accommodation at this excellent B&B is first class with only 4 rooms with en-suite bathrooms. Furnished in period style this building has a history as a factory and school before being diligently converted to a B&B by Vega and her husband. The meals were outstanding and we in a party of 7 had a delicious 3 course dinner there...

If you are in this part of the Eastern Cape do your self a massive favor and book to stay here! Vega knows how to spoil her guests. We were given a wonderful welcome cup of team on arrival and made to feel so at home. The dinner was a true delight, do book it with Vega a few days...

My husband and I have stayed with Vega and Steven for my husbands 30th a few years ago but went to have breakfast on the veranda the other day - it was a beautiful day and sitting on her "stoep" as we call a veranda is a blessing. You have the most magnificent view of the Bosberg mountains and the...

We were warmly greeted by Vega, the owner of this beautiful Lodge! Our mountain facing room was comfortable & beautifully furnished and Vega had thoughtfully put the heater on as the winter chills had set in! We were invited to relax in front of the fireplace in the evening, before dinner. A personalised dinner can be organized as an optional...

My wife and I stayed at Somerset House in Mid December 2014, having read some rave reviews on 'Trip Advisor'. None of the comments exaggerated about the excellence of this superb B and B. The welcome from Vega van Niekerk was warm and genuine, and we were shown to a delightful suite looking onto the garden. We were then given...

What a lovely experience of gracious living of an era gone by. A room with a view of the beautiful garden and the mountain is guarenteed. The host is a real Afrikaans royalty in the very good sense and her food and entertaining is well known. In the small sleepy but beautiful Karoo town is a unique experience itself. Walter...

As part of a group of travellers, we booked lunch here and wished we could stay longer. A stunning house, beautiful antique furniture, elegantly decorated and a gorgeous garden. The meal was one of the best we had in South Africa, with definitely the best Melva pudding. Thank you Vega for your warm hospitality.

Stopped there for lunch and had a very enjoyable time. The food was delicious, the venue was superb and the people were welcoming. I felt the the price was very good for the quality of the food and the quality of the venue. Would happily return there and stay.
