Few places provide more than can be reasonably expected in accommodation of this type but this was one of the places that was so much more . Indeed a Tasmanian jewel. The cottage itself and its locale was superb. Spending two nights and three days in relaxed and natural surroundings was perfect . The sounds of water from the gorgeous...

I have just spent 2 nights and 3 days at Tin Dragon Trail Cottages. What a wonderful experience. The river running along the property was beautiful for an evening and morning walk. So clear and clean and there is nothing I like more than the sound of running water. Breakfast is provided to cook yourself. The best eggs from their hens and...

Hi Merri! We are always super pleased when guests enjoy the surrounds of our small farm. Especially, because the beauty of the river was a major reason for us purchasing the property. Thank you for a relaxing and enjoyable BBQ and chat by the river. we hope you can visit again, soon. Regards from Christine, Graham and James

My new husband and I needed a one night sleepover in the area and chose Tin Dragon Trail Cottages to rest up - we're glad we did! Graeme and Christine accommodated us at the last minute and had us settled in quickly and without trouble (Fon Hock cottage). We were soaking in the outdoor tub in no time! The breakfast...

Upon arrival my wife and I were greeted and welcomed by owners, Christine and Graham. Our 2 nights stay at Tin Dragon Cottages was exceptional. If you are seeking peace, quiet and serene surrounds this is the place to stay. The cottages are beautifully crafted and built by the owners with bespoke cabinetry and finishes. The outside spa in the...

Some places get everything right, and this place is one of them. The five cottages running down a gentle ridge, surrounded by grazing alpacas, with the odd visiting chook, pademelons, plus the arc of the river running around the whole property, makes a heavenly spot. From Reception (say hi to Rusty the failed sheep dog) the private road runs through...

Our family of five stayed three nights in the rustic Settlers hut on a mountain bike family holiday thru Tassie & wish we had stayed longer. On arrival we were pleasantly surprised to find the six bunk heritage hut was quite modern, clean & comfortable inside. It was well equipped to be self sufficient but was also outfitted with quite...

Stayed at Chintock for a relaxing, romantic break over New Year. Saw resident wallabies, echidna and platypus on site and were visited at night by pademelons, brush-tailed possums and a little potoroo while star-gazing from the tub. The cottage garden was private. Overall very happy. The cottage provided everything you might need (some breakfast items on the first morning, tea,...

My husband and I stayed in the Fon Hock spa cottage on our last two nights of our Tasmanian Honeymoon. It was exactly what we needed after 2 weeks of camping. The cabin was cosy and after big days on the blue derby tracks we loved coming home to fish in the river before wrapping up the day with best...

My husband and I stayed at Tin Dragon Trail Cottages for two nights and really loved this place. It is a beautiful secluded retreat. We loved sitting in the spa watching the alpacas in the sun during the day and watching the stars at night.

Such a gorgeous setting! Babbling water, lowing cattle, rolling pasture and bush trails. The cottages are thoughtfully appointed and generously provisioned. The owners were friendly and welcoming. And who can go past a beautiful outdoor bath - utter relaxation!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We offer romance, seclusion and privacy in fully self-contained two-bedroom and studio spa-cottages each with river views - situated on a 36 acre bush alpaca farm. Each cottage has a private outdoor dining area with bar-be-que and the studio cottages have an outdoor heated spa. Principles of ecological sustainability are combined with the comforts of a luxurious retreat. Your only disturbance might be from the occasional inquisitive pademelon or soaring eagle. This stretch of the Ringarooma River is favored by fly fishermen. Chinese heritage is celebrated with an interpretation centre, landscape art and walking tracks through historic mining and water races. ... more   less
