Stayed for a couple of nights here, excellent place. The staff are very warm, welcoming and extremely helpful nothing is too much trouble. Very pleasant check in. The room I had was a double and I have to say as someone who uses hotels quite a lot I was amazed at the size. The bathroom alone was bigger than some... More

13 of us came for Sunday lunch last week and enjoyed a faultless meal. We chose a variety of food from the menu, all the food arrived at the same time and was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. We've been here a few times and love the atmosphere and food each time.

Stayed here for two nights with my sister and our parents while attending a funeral. Staff brilliant. Nothing too much trouble. Had evening meals both nights which were freshly cooked and tasty. We enjoyed a good breakfast both mornings in a very pleasant breakfast room. We had rooms in the courtyard at the back. The mattress was a little soft... More

We have just had a very enjoyable 2 night stay,at the George, the room was comfortable, the food very good, staff, and the owners very welcoming and friendly. This is a great place to stay, being located right on the market square, parking is easy, and free of charge, the building is old,and quirky in places,if your happy with that, would recommend the hotel to anyone This was... The George at Easingwold had a really nice feel to it as soon as you walked in the door. We didn't stay here, but were looking for somewhere to eat one evening. Friendly bar and waiting staff, a good choice on the menu, and warm and cosy - which in November is a must! There are some places where you... More

A visit for an evening meal found a warm friendly welcoming pub with fine beer and very good food, when next in the area will certainly visit again ,a variation on a theme offers smaller portions ,not just for children at a cheaper rate.

We came to the George last weekend on a recommendation from friends who are regular guests. The staff are all friendly and helpful. The bar is welcoming and warm on a cold, rainy day! We had a room over the bar, looking onto the square which was a decent size and well presented. You can hear the bar beneath you... More

Just returned from a weekend away. Stayed here following a recommendation. We were not disappointed. What a charming place to stay. Room was comfortable -although would have preferred a view over the market place, however when the curtains are shut it doesn't really matter! Food was excellent and plentiful with a varied menu. Breakfast was also first class - a... More

We were very pleasantly surprised. Food was excellent, really enjoyed the pork fillet one evening and the breakfasts were very enjoyable. Staff were extremely polite and helpful. Good place to be based to see some stunning countryside around a lovely part of the world. Easy reach of Castle Howard, Harrogate, Whitby, North Yorkshire Moors. If coming back to that area,...
