The View of the blue waters placed against the rugged Sahyadri mountains creates a calm in ones heart, found only in such untouched terrains.Let the panorama work its magic on your senses make you stop and wonder about natures Captivating presence! Adore this hamlet which- is painstakingly designed by the architect with a focus on nature and rustic looks. The intricate details would marvel those with a keen interest in the concept of integrity and harmony. The feeling of being home is instantaneous when one enters the premises and more so when in the rooms / cottages. While being spacious, the resort offers the comfort and hospitality of a high standard. The changing colours of the horizon at different hours are simply amazing ! It is a great place to relax, unwind and to ultimately rejoice in the lap of nature.

Perched atop a ridge overlooking the lovely Mulshi lake, this splendid property takes your breath away – literally too as there is a not too gentle ascent from the reception to the farthest cottages ( we stayed in a Bouganvilla cottage at the foot of a great rocky spur ). The property is quite well maintained and tastefully done with grassy knolls, conveniently located gazebos overlooking the lake, other cosy sit-outs, a mini-zoo of sorts (farm animals mostly), a shady glade complete with a temple and outdoor activities, a herb garden, a bouganvilla forest, a game room, a spa and a swimming pool. This is a place where one comes to relax and unwind amidst a serene milieu; not for adventure enthusiasts looking for unending activities. The price includes all meals (except alcohol of course) and while the staff do an admirable job of serving and pleasing you with oodles of smiles and their spiffiness, I personally felt the food to be a tad too rich and overly north Indian for my taste. I had expected lots of Maharashtrian dishes but was rather disappointed to find little of it; a touch of the local cuisine every day would have been nice; a gastronomic reminder of the region one is in. For early March, the place was quite cool and windy though the mountain vegetation had already browned. The place I imagine would be lush and ethereal during the monsoons with seasonal waterfalls, gurgling streams and brooks & misty mountain tops. Would be nice to be there when nature starts to render its own raag malhar.

My husband and I visited the property this month to celebrate our anniversary. It is a gorgeous location and we were blessed with excellent weather. We stayed in the Deluxe cottage Mogra & it had a beautiful view of the Mountains, Mulshi lake & damn. The rooms were clean & smelt good, but the towels, napkins, bedsheets were looking & feeling worn out. The property is quite big and they seem to organize some activities such as Herb garden tour(you can do it on your own), the village experience where there is a tractor ride, cows, emu, horses can be seen around (can be done on foot since it is just 5min away). Other activities were shut due to the weather. Lot of indoor games like snooker, Carom, magic mirror, plus the Swimming pool which no one used. The package was all inclusive with Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Evening snacks for 2 nights. The challenge is on 2 scores:
-The Lunch is the best meal of the day where they serve the best food and variety to cater to all but the Dinner on the 1st night was sad & depressing & the evening warm snacks were served late after people were done with it. Mismatch in Labeling for Tea/ Coffee leading to wastage - Biscuits/ Khari completely spoilt since may have been kept out for long. The management however did take our feedback seriously on the 1st night and there was a drastic improvement in the food quality for the next day where I would like to give a thumbs up. The confusion seemed and was then confirmed by their manager that the staff has changed during lockdown and a lot of people didn't return.
- Cleanliness is good but sanitization of the tables/ chairs is a problem after everyone leaves. They just clean the table with a simple cleaner. They must focus on this since this will drive people to come again in the future. However sanitizers are available in the large dining area,at common washrooms and of course outside your rooms. Also they have a sanitization machine at the entrance which means everytime you enter and exit the property it will sense and automatically spray which is a major plus.
All in all a good experience.

Machi in marathi means peak and true to its name, this resort has lots going to by its name!! I entered the gates post a nearly 3 hr drive from Mumbai, the roads being excellent for most parts, except for the last couple of kilometers up the hill. But once inside, you will be in to some fine hospitality. Starting with the welcome drink and a very supportive staff, you feel pampered right through. We stayed for a day in the lake facing Villa S2,S4 on the 21st Dec. The rooms, both lower and upper are huge, with all the furniture being done up in lavish wooden finish and decor. The S4 room on the first floor had a nice verandah overlooking the Mulshi lake with a large swing to gently sway while soaking in the sights and surrondings.
The ground floor room also opens up into a varandah that leads up to a lawn with nice seating to laze around.
The food is the crowing glory, with a lavish buffet spread of veg and non veg dishes and generous varieties of deserts to top it all. The service at the restaurant was spot on, with all the bearers being friendly and eager to serve.
The dinner was laid out at the lawn adjacent to the restaurant, with live music and bonfire to add to the ambience.
There is a tractor ride in the evening that takes you around the vast property.
There is a spa for those who want a refreshing massage and an indoor play area with lots of games. Besides, there is a well kept swimming pool as well. The resort also has a large lawn which hosts weddings.
You can also enjoy a horse ride besides enjoying long walks around the property.
Every nook of the property is well landscaped, with plenty of trees and greenery all over.
A pleasant surprise was when we were woken up in the morning to the sweet rending of flute by an yelderly gentleman who walked around the property and filled the air with melody.
The air is pristine and there is absolute silence all over, with birds being the only ones chirping around.
The hills behind the property provide an excellent backdrop to an already beautiful location.
For the adventure junkies, there is a zip line that is second largest in Asia. However, the price is very steep at 1750 per head and therefore didnt find takers.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay with family and came back with a heart full of memories.
I would request the property management to get the road leading up the hill to be topped up so that its a pleasure to drive up to the property and also less risky on the curves.

Visited the resort in October 2020 with family. The three stars are for the location, the rooms and the staff- very friendly and very keen to cater to all needs. However, it's unfortunate that the management seems the least bit disinterested in ensuring that covid 19 safety protocols are followed. When we visited, the first two days, the resort was at almost full capacity. The indoor dining room which served a buffet did not allow for any social distancing at all. Worst of all, none of the other guests were wearing masks, either in the dining room or around the resort. While the management can't be blamed for their guests' pigheadedness and stupidity , they can enforce strict rules re: this. They clearly were enforcing rules about swimming in the pool only with proper swimwear. Tables are not disinfected after guests leave and neither is the cutlery. I saw a couple of guests happily coughing and sneezing in the kitchen and around the resort. It's only a matter of time before someone contracts an infection. No social distancing while serving from the buffet was maintained. Their disinfectant sprinkler only worked for the first day after which it was turned off. No checking of temperature at the entry/exit points. My suggestion is to wait until there is a vaccine ready for covid or to only visit the resort once the management takes safety protocols seriously. A sad situation since everything else was enjoyable.

We Firstly apologize for the inconvenience caused to you. For Covid - 19, we have placed all the instructions at the required area, however, it's difficult to inform all guests to follow, as we tried the same and we were given negative feedback that doesn't restrict us we are on holiday. All the safety measures are taken care of, however, it just time-consuming because we are running short of staff. Hope you understand the pandemic situations. We looking forward to serving you and make a memorable experience.

Booking was hassle free (I directly did with parent company). The road for last 3-4 kms is bad but they did inform that. The property itself is very nice. Very beautifully planned. Ours was a premium room & it was quite big with a balcony that opened in the porch, which directly had access to the garden. Lawn was quite lush green & there are gazebos, where you can sit & enjoy the view. Waking up to live flute tune was wonderful experience. I also liked the fact that they had provided electric kettle along with water bottles in the room itself. The restaurant service however needs improvement. There isn't shortage of staff but there is complete lack of co-ordination. When restaurant capacity & lunch/breakfast hours are limited, ideally they should set up tables & chairs in the garden. They are neither short of tables/chairs; garden area or staff to set up the tables but they just don't. The head chef is very courteous though & he does ask for your personal feedback. In all a good experience but could have been better.

We finally decided to take the plunge and plan our first family staycation post prolonged lockdowns. We finalized on Malhar Machi due to positive ratings and an assuring conversation with their resort manager. But when we landed at the resort, it was a total disappointment. Here is why-
1. The sanitization tunnel they have at the tunnel is just a show piece. People were allowed to enter without this tunnel being operational.
2. The property is in bad shape. The pond stinks and the water is super dirty with plastic bottle lying in the water.
3. Food is low quality. The manager had confirmed that the buffet is managed by them and guests are not allowed to self serve as a safety measure. But what we saw there is guests allowed to walk in without masks, touch the buffet the way they want.
4. They had a group booking (group of 30) and this group walked in for lunch making the lunch space totally crowded. The resort should have allocated a seperate lunch space for them or a different time, but none of this was done.
With all this, we checked out within an hour and our whole holiday plan was a disaster thanks to Malhar Machi.
Please refrain from going to this place if you want to be safe. It was a nightmare for us and a total waste of time.

Firstly, we are truly apologetic that your experience at our resort was not up to your expectations. We completely regret this. Regarding your concerns around the safety and hygiene, we assure you that mandatory checks of temperature and sanitation are done at frequent intervals for guests as well as our staff from the moment one enters our premises. We have installed sanitation zones all around the resort for everyone’s safety. As you were our walk in guest less than an hour ,you did not get an opportunity to see our entire property which is spread in 16 acres and well maintained cottages and rooms which is about 50 meters away from each other. Our restaurant is deep sanitized in every 3 hrs time ,all the tables are available with sanitizers. We maintain social distancing between our staff and our guests so the Buffet option is available for all meals where our guest take care independently. However the group of 30 people (In- House guest) had an booking for 3 nights and were checked with body temperature gun in specific interval of time. Because our guests feel confident and know of our sanitation practices, they choose to have an uninhibited experience at the resort. We can assure you that every safety measure is taken at each step. We welcome you to experience the same in-depth and hope you will give us another chance to serve you again.

Me and hubby stayed in one of the scenic premium rooms, which are located at the ground floor of multiple duplex cottages (upper floor being the maharaja room). Room was large, fairly clean with a significant use of wood giving it that luxury feel. A French window opens on a patio with a swing. A beautiful view of lake and mountains can be had from the patio as well as the bed. A large lawn with few benches lies behind the room, offering a gorgeous view of the sunset. Bathroom stank a little, possibly due to the recycled flush water. While the effort for water conservation is appreciated, putting some fragrance sticks can make the room all the more pleasant. Also, the quilt was a bit too thick and stifling. Top floor offers better privacy but ground floor provides better access to the lawn for walks and stargazing.

Food was decent. We prefer a more local fare but can give them a pass on this one as they have to cater to all taste buds. Live music for dinner, live instrumental music for breakfast and a bansuri wadak for high tea took the experience two notches up! They got the tea just right which was a big plus!

One hugeeeee plus is their staff. Impeccably polite, attentive and eager to please. The ?manager and the chef made a genuine effort to get feedback from each group. A goodie bag consisting of munchies and water was provided at the check out....a thoughtful gesture.

Notes: Be sure to ring them up for directions before your journey begins. Also, they have one of the longest zip lines in india. Indoor game section needs to be better. Pool is good.

We three couples stayed at Malhar Machi from 7th to 9th Feb. 2020 to celebrate the wedding anniversary of two of the couples. The various facilities at the resort are very well maintained and the entire staff is very courteous and helpful. They have a excellent buffet spread for lunch, dinner and breakfast. The High tea arranged in the garden is a unique experience. Overall, it was a great experience. We all would be visiting Malhar Machi once again.

I recently visited here to celebrate my anniversary and it was the worst decision I made. We called and informed them that we will be reaching at 2.45 and asked them to keep lunch for us which I think went deaf ears as a lot of the dishes were finished. The quality of food was horrible, everything was cold and when pointed out, no one paid a heed. The spread was very limited. They charge more than a five star property would and offer the services like a 3 star or 2 star resort would. The property and the rooms are amazingly maintained. I stayed in bouganvilla and loved the interiors, the view wasn't great. One more thing which I find weird is though the check-in time is 2 pm, the lunch timings are 1 pm to 3 pm and they are very punctual on closing down the meal section.

The food spread is massive and delicious both veg/non veg.. we stayed in the maharaja suite as it has the best view.. It’s a ground plus one arrangement so u can go ahead with the ground floor for ur parents… if u wanna take the first level u can do that as well coz the flight of stairs ain’t too high.. so it wud be an easy climb even for elders😊

It is not impossible but it will surely be a difficult task considering your mom is 80 years old and there is a lot of walking up and down to the rooms. Even if you take lower level rooms on ground floor, to reach to the closest possible room from the reception she will have to walk down quite a few steps and then while coming back, she will have to climb all of that up again. I had taken the room closest to the reception and so can vouch for that. Since there are only steps and no slope, there is no wheelchair access. Also another thing you may want to consider is that the lighting across the paved path is too less during the nights. I personally heard some senior citizens complaining about the same. I even have left a suggestion regarding this at the reception. Not sure if they did something about it!
