Standard pub food, but friendly service and nice room to eat in. Staff helpful with wheelchair issues. Sat on a main road but that makes it convenient for when passing. Tricky wheelchair toilet access that requires the use of the chair - lift. You may need to book sometimes as large parties can use a proportion of the space.

Lovely 3 night break. Room 1 was gorgeous. Staff really caring. I struggle to walk so ensured I had an easy access room and showed us to our room. Breakfast menu extensive, nothing too much trouble. Great products delivered daily. Lovely range offered on restaurant too, reasonably priced. Cotswolds ales on tap plus good wine list. Sturdy castle is ideally...

A convenient stop for a visit to Oxford, this well-designed hotel has a restaurant and bar. Rooms are in a separate building, placed around a courtyard. Rooms are quiet, clean and comfortable, although the view from our window was nothing to write home about. Good TV. Wifi. The bar has a couple of real ales, which I thought a little...

Room was fine but thought it was expensive, as it didn't include breakfast, that was another 16 pounds. So went to Woodstock and found a cafe that did breakfast for half the price. Ate in the restaurant, the food was good and the service to, but was disconcerted to see that one of the waitresses was spraying and cleaning the...

Chose Sturdy's Castle due to its proximity to Blenheim Palace. The pub is an old coaching inn nicely modernised with a good sized restaurant. The rooms are in a separate block on two floors. Our room was on the top floor and had a dual aspect over the car park and fields. The room was large with a king sized...

Just visited to eat but had to sit in bar and then rushed and had to listen to the owner moaning firstly as we hadn't ordered when he asked and secondly as he wanted to finish up in the kitchen. Not good Won't be back in a hurry. Didn't feel they wanted our custom. This is the second time we...

I loved staying at this hotel. The atmosphere was great so calm and welcoming. Staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was delightful it was a great size, calm, peaceful and very clean. I loved the historical feel with suits of armour as you enter, the atmosphere of an old building yet it was not musty or old but updated...

We were meeting friends from further north than us we both had a 2 hour journey but were looking forward to a good catch up, hadn't seen each other for many months. Nice lunch, nice restaurant, food good. After dinner we went to the bar carry on the evening, unfortunately 10.30 we were made to feel we had to leave,...

Enjoyed a delicious meal here on New Year's Day. There's a separate restaurant but we ate in the bar area and it was such a lovely atmosphere. We walked in and immediately warmed up with the log fire burning. There was lots to choose from on the menu, generous portion sizes and tasty food. Very friendly and efficient service too....
