Stayed for 2 nights between 27/5/23 and 29/5/23 as CM members.We travelled by train to Kollam making it easy to travel to and from the resort within 45 minutes.Travelling to Trivandrum is equally easy if u choose to fly but takes an hour and half. The resort is situated right on the waterfront with a boat jetty and one can sit and gaze at the tranquil waters for hours.There is a waterfront floating restaurant plus a large indoor restaurant that served tasty food.They serve mocktails and juices the whole day and u just have to ask for it in this hot summer to quench ur thirst.Garden is large extensive and well kept like other Mahindra resorts.We stayed in the newly constructed studiorooms with kitchennette which was excellent.Though they may not have a clear view of the lake as the older rooms,they r large and new with a verandah, high end tv and mini kitchennette.Spread over 2 floors and pool and garden facing I would recommend them.Few additions required r clothes hangers in the bathroom,antiskid tiles for the elderly for safety purposes and more benches to sit on near the lake Housekeeping response was very good. Room curtains can be washed more often.Also found the floor to gather moisture when ac is on .Reception staff were courteous and good.Travel desk needs improvement with better response.Also response of staff when one calls from home prior to check in can be improved.Restaurant food and staff r good. Also pls try the small shop just outside the resort for costfriendly and authentic kerala tiffins like appams kadalacurry and puttu.A very friendly and efficient lady does it and the taste is awesome. Even her mixed vegetable curry with coconut and pepper was excellent.I want to suggest that CM should include local recipes always in their menu.What is kerala breakfast without puttu appam and stews?Travel union is operating and hence one cannot book cabs from outside for pick up or sightseeing.But they seem to be reasonable unlike Goa. Pls visit the picturesque Varkala beach(cliff beach) and the touristy goan style eating joints and shops on the cliff.A very clean and beautiful beach.Also suggest Kappil beach for its beauty .Overall a nice holiday

We were overwhelmed after reaching the property as it was beyond our imagination. The aesthetics in terms of the facade of the rooms and the structure of the resort were complimenting the well manicured landscaped greenery. Some of the flowering plants were exquisite.
We only stayed for 1 night on 27/01/2025 which we thoroughly enjoyed, but had wished this was for a longer period.
Under the leadership of Mr Shine Mohan (Resort Manager) we didn’t meet him, however we were greeted by Ms Bhavana Bhaskar (Front Office Manager) we felt totally at home and really enjoyed our stay there. Our room was very spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a well-maintained bathroom that added to the overall pleasant stay.
Our experience is all superlative for every staff member there. The food menu was very tasteful. Every vegetarian meal we could get was so tasty and delicious. There was also a plenty of other variety of dishes, we were spoilt for choice that also included various type of desserts Our special thanks goes to head chef (Mr Suresh Annadurai), his staff and other chefs. We could not remember everybody"s name, but we are so thankful to all of them.
We had a fantastic experience at the Ashtamudi Club Mahindra Resort. The resort is beautifully located, with a great ambiance that perfectly blends with the backwaters, nature, and surrounding scenery. It's truly a peaceful retreat.
Overall, we had a very enjoyable and relaxing stay at Ashtamudi Club Mahindra Resort. It’s perfect for anyone looking to unwind in a beautiful setting while enjoying great food and activities. Highly recommended!
The Housekeeping was very diligent and maintained, our room was as per our expectations.

Club Mahindra’s resort at Ashtamudi is situated on the banks of the Ashtamudi lake is very scenic and serene. We stayed in the floating huts and it felt like being on a cruise with a breathtaking view of the calm waters of the lake.Like any other Mahindra resort, the property is well maintained, lush greenery all around and well appointed rooms.
What sets this resort apart from any other is the outstanding service offered by the staff. The manager at the Happy hub Sharanappa Gowda went beyond the call of duty to make our stay comfortable. We had booked for an early morning speed boat ride and asked the girl at the reception if I could get some biscuits. As a senior citizen I asked her to provide some help but She directed me to a shop outside the property and regretted to offer to get it for me. When I asked Sharanappa, he offered to get biscuits and eatables without batting an eyelid. He personally delivered the eats to my room .This was so helpful and thoughtful of him.
Our speed boat ride was a pleasurable experience. The driver Linesh was very enthusiastic, giving us a lot of information and taking us through the mangroves , prawn farms and other flora and fauna.
The icing on the cake was our dining at the Finz sea food restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious.All credit goes to chef Sreejith who took the trouble to find out our tastes and come up with finger licking yummy sea food. He took time to share his recipes with me , also disclosing the trade secrets not available in any recipe book.Our waiter Amrit was very courteous and efficient.We ended up having all our meals at the sea food restaurant.
The swimming pool manager Uni was very patient and kind , explaining all the rules etc in a calm manner.
The other housekeeping and room service staff was also very polite.All in all we had a pleasant stay , being served by polite and cooperative staff.

Our recent stay at Club Mahindra Ashtamudi was a mix of awe-inspiring experiences and a few disappointing aspects. The location is simply spellbinding. Nestled on the banks of Ashtamudi Lake, the resort offers stunning views that are unmatched. The serene environment and well-maintained premises truly set the tone for a peaceful getaway.
We stayed in a floating 1 BR room, which was undoubtedly the highlight of our trip. It was one of the most amazing and unique experiences of our lives. The views from the room were breathtaking, making it worth the stay despite some minor inconveniences. However, the room could use some renovation – the wooden flooring was peeling, and the bathroom fixtures needed servicing.
One downside of staying in the floating room is the distance to the main amenities like the pool, reception, restaurant, and Happy Hub. There’s quite a bit of walking involved, which can be challenging for small children and the elderly. While the resort does provide an e-rickshaw service, it’s time-consuming, so keep that in mind if mobility is a concern.
We thoroughly enjoyed the speedboat ride to Munroe Islands organized by the Happy Hub. Though a bit pricey at over ₹5000 for 1 hour 30 minutes, it’s a must-have experience. Our daughter had a great time at the art and craft session at Happy Hub, which was a delightful addition to our stay.
The swimming pool is well-maintained and fun, though the changing area could use better upkeep. The shower gel wasn’t refilled once it was empty, but the towels provided were clean, which was a plus.
Now, for the most disappointing part of our stay— the food. We opted for à la carte meals, and unfortunately, the menu was quite limited. If you're dining for more than a couple of meals, you’ll find yourself repeating dishes. The restaurant was understaffed, leading to delays in service. Usually, Club Mahindra resorts offer great food, but here the taste was average at best, and no effort was made to elevate the dining experience. On top of that, the food was overpriced, and the portion sizes were small, which left us feeling cheated. We don’t mind paying a premium for good food, but this fell far short of expectations.
Overall, while we thoroughly enjoyed the stunning views and unique floating room experience, our stay was overshadowed by the subpar dining. If the food and service were up to par, this could have been a near-perfect stay.

Overall rating is average due to some improvement areas. Resort property is beautiful and scenic, truly in nature. Staff hospitality is good.
Special mention- One of the highlights of my stay was boat ride to Munroe island. Staff member Lineesh and partner who manage boat ride activity were extremely respectful and helping. My mother senior citizen was doing this ride and they assisted and took very good care of her during this trip. Lineesh explained about local life and culture of island people which was insightful.
Improvement areas- 1. Food - overpriced and average. Not value for money. Price difference in 2 resorts menu. 2. Delay in baggi service. As I was travelling with senior citizen, I noted some delays during peak hours of food time. 3. Location is far from main road access and local cab drivers have union there, so you can only travel with them and no rickshaw or other local cab allowed.prices charged for local sight seeing are 1.5 times. This adds inconvenience to overall stay experience.

Good things first: Resort is setup in a nice secluded place (though this turns out to be an issue which I have covered below) The floating rooms are a good one time experience Resort is well maintained with decent amenities. Staff is well trained and smiling.
Now the bad things start: Dining experience was pathetic: - They charge such exorbitant rates for buffet dining but cannot provide you with breads and starters in the table. You have to literally stand in the queue to be served one. And they serve you starters as if it is some precious stone, hardly enough for one bite. When it came to rotis/breads, there are so many families in the queue that you end up just taking whatever is readily available (rice). When asked as to why these things are not served on the table, we were told that they were short staffed on all 3 days, great. And they were showing in app as fully booked on all 3 days. What planning is management doing? - The dining rates are so exorbitant that it compensates CM for room rates. So in essence I ended up paying around 16k for a family of 2 adults and 1 kid for 3N on a 2 meal plan (breakfast and dinner). I compared that to a non CM friend of mine who made a trip to a 5 star hotel in Ashtamudi at ~9.5k per day including 3 meals per day for a family of 2 adults and a kid + a complimentary early morning boat ride in Munroe mangroves. I am not comparing the 2 but trying to evaluate the value add I get being a CM member, but I see none after paying a hefty membership fee and y-o-y ASF. So i recommend that you go for alacarte meals and if you are planning to become a CM member, just stop as it does not make financial sense. - They also provide bookings to non-members. SO better use this than tying up with CM for life.
Others: - Every CM has a nexus with local taxi unions that charge you exorbitantly (double). They will not allow any outside taxi to serve you. You need to have a plan to circumvent this trap. - Floating rooms though good, are very hot during daytime. During nighttime, the water has a typical smell and so you cannot do anything in the evening to enjoy the calm waters. - Rooms are decent but you have to call them to provide you dental kit and thats been my experience in all CM properties. - The resorts that I have visited so far are so cutoff including this one that you hardly find any food options outside and you end up falling on what CM offers-low quality experience at fine dining price..
In essence, CM just doesn't make financial or logical sense. You get better facilities and better rates and better choices if you are wiling to plan your holidays in advance, which you already do if you are CM member. If you add up food, travel and room rent and you book on your own, then this over 25years at an inflation rate will equal membership fees+ ASF + nominal market return on member fees. The difference you may get can be attributed to the convenience of rooms, time, food options and travel you get to choose if you book on your own.

Checked in on 20th at 9 pm. Had a great first day specially with the trip to Munro island. Had a terrible check out experience on 23rd when we started getting calls repeatedly to vacate the room after 10am in the morning. Most disappointed with the way club Mahindra treats its members to make room for Huge Group Tours. Please don’t fool people to become members if you’re planning to go into group tour business.

A nice, clean resort. If you book this place, the Floating Huts is a must. However, the floating huts require climbing. Hence if you have issues climbing stairs / ramp it could be difficult.
The resort is at a distance from Trivandrum Airport. Presently as roads are under construction, it takes 2.5 to 3 Hrs one way. Once inside, it is a different world. The resort is on the bank of the lake and is lush green - a treat to the eyes. The air is fresh. Staff very helpful. Food is delicious, though vegetarian and local options are limited. Housekeeping staff are prompt to any need as and when it arises.
The activity center representatives need to pull their socks. Interaction with Mr Tej before check-in to learn about activities at the resort (to enable us to plan our trip) received a cold response from him. Had to follow up and give repeated reminders to get the details. Also post check in, Mr Ahmed made promises which were not true (he informed that all permits and arrangements have been done for the cab while we realised that the permits had not been arranged) and also included incorrect postings in the bill (incorrect rates posted in the bill). When pointed out he had lame excuses - These two has made me lower my rating.

I was overwhelmed after reaching the property as it was beyond my imagination. The Chalets and the House Boats were a dream to die for as they were outstanding internally aand externally and internally. We stayed at the Studio apartment but realised that it was the size of a 1 bedroom. The room overlooked the sea and was equivalent to a 5star hotel. The chef did an excellent job by serving daily a spread of different tempting delicacies. We stopped looking at our waistline after that. Suresh the chef also obliged me specially with my favourite - Caramel Custard. The Housekeeping was very diligent and maintained the room daily as per our expectations. The Room Service was very prompt for all our in house dining requests. The only consistent issue was the low performance of the WiFi .

There is a very active Taxi union outside the resort. Infact, such unions are active throughout Kerala, Goa, Himachal etc. Hence you have to rely on the resort travel desk. These cabs are clean and our drivers were very good.
No, not even oven or kitchen, this stands restricted to floating cottages only, they have kitchenette facilities only in some newly built studio apartments.
No problem in August with the floating cottage. Try to get the one of the newly built four cottages in the last row .Last week also I stayed no Foul smell in the bathroom or near by the cottage.
There are more places to choose from in the Thekkumbhagam area.
