I stayed at Twiga on two separate stays in Sep 2022. My tour operator charged me $200 USD per night. For this price I had fairly high expectations, so I became fussy with the details. I was given one of their standard townhouse style rooms. The room was clean and the bed linen was fine I took a shower in the late afternoon and there was only a trickle of hot water. Not that I was there to watch TV but the TV was one of those old chunky CRT sets that I last saw 20 years ago. To watch involved unplugging the mini bar fridge, and viewing it through the mosqito net. The lodge has free WiFi but it only works near the bar area and not from the rooms. I did like central green space of lawn and trees as provides a calming, relaxing atmosphere. The bar man who served me exemplified the Tanzanian spirit of friendliness and warm-heartedness

Our final night on safari was spent at this very nice lodge outside the parks. Lovely room and great atmosphere with outdoor tables and bars, good food in the restaurant, and really helpful staff. The pool looked lovely but we did not have time to try it.

Comfortable lodge with very nice facilities. Staff showed high attention to make stay relaxed and pleasant. Prepared fine lunchboxes for the Safaris and served evening dinner's and breakfast's (even breakfast at 5.30 ahead of an early leave).

We stayed at the Twiga Lodge while visiting Lake Manyara National Park. We stayed in guest room and found it pleasant and quiet. The grounds also were nice and well used by tenters. The restaurant was good.

TWIGA Lodge was first stop of my 8 day trip in Tanzania - very disappointing! If you want to stay healthy - stay out of the pool (!). Poor in food quality and service not available eg: I order a Beer, got a dirty glass, asked to change - paid for two; Rooms are very simple and nothing inviting Will not come back

I think the staff are somewhat wary of visitors who have been disappointed by the lack of a decent shower, basic meals, etc. but they do warm up when shown a little kindness. Not sure what our room cost because it was included in safari price, but it was the only hotel or tent camp of our 7 day, $2600 per person safari that was not enjoyable. Maybe they need this stop to average down accomodation cost. Wifi did work in dining area.

I have to say that I can't seem to find a price per night for this place anywhere, including asking for 2 days straight at reception in person. I stayed here last night and will have to stay again tonight, because it was booked by my safari. If I had paid less than $45/night here, I would have just put up with it and wouldn't have written a review, but I paid an extra $190!!! per night to have a nice lodge for a very special stay - and on a ridiculously small travel budget, I blew most of it for my safari lodging. For the price I paid, I was very very disappointed - but I'm thinking mostly with my safari booker, because I have a feeling this place is way cheaper than what I paid. I had a room with 2 bed, which were hard and meh, though it's Africa and I don't expect 5 star beds. The bathroom wasn't clean. The sink was dirty. The shower curtain was moldy. There was NO HOT WATER at all. The back of the toilet was covered in pubic hairs, and the wifi *for the "luxury rooms" does not work in the rooms - at all. Reception says it's just a bit slower, but this is false. It doesn't not work at all, and I would only get the message to move closer to even try to connect. The food was meh. There was a pool, but after seeing how they cleaned the bathrooms, there's no way I would use it. I also had to pay for water at every meal, even though the meals were supposed to be paid for. Suffice to say, I am extremely disappointed in my stay here, but until I can find out an actual price per night, I can't say if that disappointment should mostly be directed to my safari operator or 2 both the operator and the establishment. I hope if your safari operator books you here, you aren't paying $190 USD per night, like I did.

Camped for one night in the grounds while on a safari trip. Camp ground felt secure and well maintained. There were mosquitoes, but it's not called the "Mosquito River Villiage" for nothing! Shower facilities were probably the best we had during the trip. There was apparently a bar (never got there) and a pool. There is a convenience store on the outside of the compound that sold drinks and snacks at OK prices that I did take advantage of. Well located for both the villiage and the nearby national park.

We never had a choice, picked by our tour operator. Staff is friendly but that’s all there was good. AC just makes noise, doesn’t cool. Room was two hard beds and a night stand. Wifi only worked by the office, and if you put your phone down for 30 seconds, you have a tedious login process again. Lodge right on main highway so lots of street noise. Dinner was supposed to start at 7:00. Actually started at 7:25. All meat was tough or fatty. Everything else had no taste. Homemade tomato soup the only good thing. No drinking water in room. Hot water in shower lasts two minutes Get Outlook for iOS

Please avoid this place if you can. Over priced, terrible service, horrible food and very poor service. Restaurant is too depressing to start with so better to sit outside. To give u an idea of the food, we ordered fried chicked which was a disgusting fried bone with some skin around which had been fried on the same oil they had used to fry fish so could not eat it. Then they had no change (very normal practice) and had to wait over 20 minutes for a receipt. The service was awful. They seem not to care and had more interest in their mobiles than in serving us. Will never go back there
