Detailed Reviews
My wife and I spent a restful week at the Kuda Huraa resort in November. Before we woke up each morning, the grounds crew was out picking up fallen leaves and other debris and raking the sandy pathways so that when you went to breakfast the surroundings were beautiful. The rooms and common facilities were spotless. The white beaches ran down to the aquamarine water which was calm and inviting during our stay. The islet's reef is healthy and well populated by a colorful assortment of tropical fish including many parrot fish, puffer fish, needle fish, more than one species of rays and even some small black-tip sharks. Every day we got our steps in when we walked (my wife ran) out to the end of the kilometer-long walkway that ended on the small island where the chef was growing herbs in his small greenhouse. Speaking of chefs, I will never forget some of the wonderful meals that I ate at the resort. In particular, there was this red snapper that had been smoked over an open fire which sticks in my mind. One day, I also sampled a century egg which I can now remove from my bucket list of things I wanted to try. We had great weather while we were there so every single meal was eaten al fresco and served by not just friendly staff but by very special people that made you feel like family. At meals all the resort managers would come by to say hello and make sure everything was perfect. We got to know several of the staff on a personal level and it seems the Four Seasons hiring practices are bang on. Everyone takes the time to treat every guest the same way. Kudos to General Manager, Randy Shimabaku, his assistant Chanattee Khukhan and the wonderful guest services manager, Ahmed Nazim. Thanks to Maximilian Schillick, Director of Rooms and Maxime Lureau, Director of Spa who not only kept the resort sparkling but were warm and welcoming. Thank you to Giovanni D'Alessandro, Director of Food and Beverage, Restaurant Managers Joseph Daniel and Branka Novakovic and Rajendra Meravi the Sous Chef. Also, warm regards to Das, the best bartender in Asia.
Special mention to the resident marine biologists that were caring for a large number of injured sea turtles at the resort. The poor turtles had been injured in fisherman's nets and got the same TLC that the guests did.
We have stayed at many Four Seasons resorts now including the ones in Lanai, Bali, the Seychelles and Mauritius. They are all different and each one was a wonderful guest experience but Kuda Huraa's staff standout as the best.

Thank you very much for taking the time to write about your recent experience on Kuda Huraa. I loved reading your "commentary" and besides all those who you highlighted I especially wanted to thank you for including (and starting) with our wonderful team of gardeners who are true craftsman but never forget to acknowledge our guests in a warm and sincere manner. I was not sure if your encounter with the century old egg was an experience you wanted to repeat or not, but I enjoyed your storytelling. We are all humbled by your last compliment and comparison to our sister properties and will try to continue to live up to this, going forward.

We had already been to Kuda Huraa three times for surfing and have always dreamt about coming back when we had a baby and we are so happy we did for our fourth visit. The island is compact and service is excellent.
Our little one is now 8 months old. She loved the ocean and the island and whoever she interacted with. She was all smiles and giggles. It was just a whole new experience for her after the city life in London. Since the island is quite compact it's very easy to get around with the baby either with the baby carrier or her pram. We had a yoyo so it was perfect for the trip.
She doesn’t have a nanny and we always took care of her. Since it was our first trip with her, we thought the trip would be more tiring and we were ok with it.
Luckily for us, the team accommodated every single detail and request we threw at them so we could also find plenty of time to relax and even surf.
A special thanks goes to chef Raj and his team. Every single day during our stay, he personally cared for Palma’s menu as well as ours and cooked custom recipes for us. We thought we would be cooking for her during our stay and brought her cooking machine. This alone took great weight off our shoulders as we are quite particular as to how her food is cooked. It meant a lot to us.
Housekeeping was very responsive and fixed minor issues very quickly. Anything we asked for was at our door momentarily. For example the baby crib had to be secured with pads and they did an excellent job with that.
Team at Cafe Huraa, where we spent a great deal of our time, made us feel home. if I remember the names correctly the supervisor Ashfan and Weisu were amazing in terms of hospitality and service.
A gentlemen at front desk( whose name I can’t remember ) arranged an upgraded accommodation as we were initially not happy with the location of our pavilion. Although we had already settled and later decided not to move, I would like to thank him for promptly arranging an alternative during the busiest period of the resort.
Overall, we were spoiled beyond our expectation. I can easily say it already exceeds highly esteemed Four Season's service. Thank you for that.

Thank you very, very much for spending so much of your time writing this review and for your heartfelt commentary about your fourth visit to Kuda Huraa. We especially feel honored that you felt compelled to write about us, even after three previous visits. First and foremost, we are delighted that your little one so enjoyed her time with us. Everyone enjoyed connecting with her on so many levels (and I think she did as well). Yes, we are so proud of Chef Raj for his ability to customize his cooking to really suit the audience (if need be) and more so to do it with such a positive approach. Thank you also for your shout out on Team Cafe Huraa (especially Ashfan and Wasiu) as well as Team Housekeeping. Indeed we hope to see all three of you again in the not-so-distant future.

Four Seasons Kuda is the best resort we ever stayed and we can feel so many warm details they did for giving us a wonderful memory. Their water recreation is amazing. My husband learned snorkling from Nooman which is the wisest decision we ever made. He is really professional and he knows how to help people who can't swim to conquer the fears. The snorkling environment for this island is so nice that we saw Nemo, Shark and lots of other beautiful fishes. Also I would like to share some points that we love a lot as the following. (if you want to discover how thoughtful they are by yourself, you may skip this part)
1. Four Seasons friends play the instruments for welcoming us when we arrived the island. Also their GM is welcoming us there
2. Food & Bravege are so nice! We enjoyed all meals a lot.Their director for this department is so kind and you can see him to understand the feedback from customers during every dinner.
3. All the four seasons friends smile to you and greet to you sincerely which make us feel so warm that we want to use the word "Friends" instead of "staff".
4. The house keeping is so thoughtful especially the ways they sorted window curtains which makes the sun to thread a bit during the morning.
5. Four Seasons seems remark your special date in their system that we were congratulated by many friends during our anniversary (when we were in Restaurant, Store, Housekeeping)
6. Hand written card from various friends to say good bye to us.
7. Spa island is so relaxing that you can see Shark, listen to the wave, enjoy the sun.
8. The last but not the least. Nooman is the best teacher we ever have and I actually cried during the day to say goodbye to him.
All of mentioned items makes us become a big fan of Four Seasons.
Before this trip, I was wondering whether this island is the correct choice and should we arrange other islands next time while we found out that it's the best one in Maldives and we will definitely visit here again in the near further. I will also recommend Four Seasons to all our relatives.

Thank you very much for taking so much of your time to post such a heartfelt message about your time here on Kuda Huraa (and for being kid enough to translate it into English for us). We are all very happy to hear that you felt you chose the right resort for your Maldivian holiday. Thank you also for all the detailed comments in your eight examples (and mentioning to readers that they can find this out by themselves, if they choose to). We are a small intimate island and we do feel like a family in many ways so I am glad you were able to experience this feeling, which is a delight to hear. Giovanni our Director of Food & Beverage is a nice and very friendly person who is really concerned that everyone enjoys each meal with us. Finally Nooman has a special talent for connecting with people and making them feel comfortable in the water so they can experience another world. I am so happy to hear that such was the case with your husband and thank you for highlighting this. We all hope to see you again...soon!

After postponing our wedding twice due to COVID (and ultimately opting for a private ceremony July 17 and pushing the big celebration to next summer), we were not expecting to be able to take a honeymoon—or at least had our doubts. Our original honeymoon was going to entail approx 12 days in Greece and France and then 6 in the Maldives. After postponing our wedding the first time, we researched options for getting our money back, and then where we might be able to travel for a honeymoon once we decided on our intimate marriage ceremony.
We couldn’t recommend the Four Seasons Kuda Huraa any more highly, from our pick up at the airport to our departing 5 pm meal and drinks in the sunset lounge, the service was impeccable.
Snorkeling was phenomenal, lunch cruise with dolphins, spa was beautiful, great resort gym, and the overwater bungalow was one of the many highlights. Never wanted to leave.
COVID notes - sanitizer is everywhere, all staff wear masks all the time, and sanitize after each guest leaves a buggy or touches a doorknob. They did a perfect job of keeping a safe and clean environment while allowing all guests to enjoy their experience to the fullest.
We rarely stay at four seasons (usually opt for St. Regis) but that is about to change and the service level was unlike anything I've ever had.
Already planning our trip back next year and highly recommend to anyone considering.

Staff was incredible, extremely fun to be around, very helpful, informative, cautious and have a tremendous amount of expertise. The instructors I dived with were Moose, Ilham and Tony and the three of them were amazing.
Equipment was impecable, there wasn’t one flaw in the 15 dives I did during my 10 day stay. Every diver was equipped with everything you could need while diving e.g. a dive computer, a hook in case there was current, a gps in case you got lost, your own surface marker and a bell to attract attention.
The service on the boat was also amazing. The gear was completely set up for you and there were towels, water bottles, hot chocolate, fruit and even cookies on the boat for after the dive.
Briefings were very detailed including how strong the current was, what fish we would see, what depth we would go...
Wether you are a beginner or you have been diving your whole life, the instructors will adapt so that you enjoy yourself and there isn’t a better place to pass a scuba diving course (open water, advanced, nitrox...).
Every dive was a new adventure were we would see new fish, bigger sharks, more rays and turtles, and every day we learned something new. Morning dives were usually more chill, less people, less current, more visibility and spotting dolphins from the boat was more likely but afternoon dives were just as fun and beautiful.
Overall, it was a blast, I couldn’t have been happier or felt safer than I did thanks to the incredible staff and every dive was absolutely beautiful. The amount of marine life we saw during our stay was more vast than I could ever imagine and there is not a single animal or plant that I can think of that we didn’t see while diving.

Thank you very much for taking the time to write such a detailed and complimentary note about our dive center here on Kuda Huraa. I don't think Jacques Cousteau could have done a better job of describing your experience. Like so many things its about "the details" and "the people" and you masterfully elaborated on both and this is really appreciated. For sure Moose, Ilham and Tony are true professionals and are also just cool guys to hang with but for anyone considering a diving excursion to the Maldives, I hope they read your post. Once again, thank you.

My wife and I recently traveled to Four Seasons Maldives at Kuda Huraa for our honeymoon and had one of the most awesome weeks of our lives. The Four Seasons does not overlook a single detail from the moment you arrive at the airport to the moment you return to the security line at the airport. It could not have been easier to arrive and find a representative from the resort at the airport who took care of everything and got us onto the Four Seasons boat to take us to the island. Once we arrived, everyone who worked there knew our name all week and promptly provided outstanding service. The villas were impeccable and gorgeous, like staying in your own private oasis. The entire island is perfectly manicured and feels like a slice of heaven. All week we enjoyed the spectacular food at each of the four restaurants on the island, as well as at the sunset lounge, marveled at the beautiful beaches and pools, and soaked up every minute in the tranquil Indian Ocean. Highlights for us from the trip included the spa, the cooking class at Barabaaru led by their outstanding chef from whom we learned so much, and our dive which was led by a first class dive team on the resort property who could make anyone, even a novice, fall in love with diving. Especially with the incredible sea life near Kuda Huraa. Other tips would be to spend time with the marine biologists on the resort and learn about the sea turtle and other conservation efforts that they are constantly working on. They have an incredible team. Everyone at the resort always met us with a smile and provided the best service we've ever experienced. We would definitely love to return some day.

We have just got back from a 10 days family holiday to Kuda Huura , this was our 5th stay . After a hard few months social distancing , all four of us , as a family , dreamt of going back to Kuda Huura , our favourite place on hearth .
We knew that the level of cleanliness is very high in normal times , and felt that they would be doing their outmost to keep their staff & guest safe with enhanced cleaning , and this was indeed correct .
Talking to staff ( some of whom we have known for years ) we understood the level of work that went into reopening the resort , and we could tell that EVERYTHING was deep cleaned , for instance they even sanitised our suitcases on arrival .
As for the stay , it was just as perfect as ever , truly .
We are so grateful to have had those 10 days at Kuda Huura to de stress and reconnect as a family and are already planning a return trip , hopefully in February next year . If you are thinking of going , do , the level of cleaning on planes and airports has been enhanced to such a degree that , surely , one has a lower chance of catching something than normal .
Thank you for everyone at Kuda Huura , we can’t wait to return !

Many thanks to the chef and all the staff at Reef club Restaurant, who surprised us tonight with a special Mediterranean dish. The chef's work was excellent, starting with Focaccia Bread that took us to Italy and then a mixed menu from all around the Mediterranean starting from Lebanon and then an attractive Italian soup and main course of Italian shrimp and lobster but served in the style of Greek restaurants ( By adding tomato, onion, sumac and yogurt) and finally in Turkey, with a great Kanafeh and pistachio ice cream, the saltyness of pistachios does a strange job with your sense of taste, but The chef by adding mango, make bridges from Turkey to the Indian Ocean For your return to the Maldives . This chef and his colleagues at Ruff Restaurant can take you on a safe trip around the Mediterranean without the restrictions of Coronavirus. Thank you for a nice dinner

Thank you very much for taking the time to script such a positive and detailed story about your time here on Kuda Huraa. Your descriptions were conveyed in such a manner that I wanted to run down to the Reef Club for a quick bite (its not quite lunch time yet). You are obviously a foodie and it appears that you have traveled the world, so your kind compliments are even more meaningful for us. Chef Moustafa and his team do an amazing job and its good so nice to see them get some well deserved recogntion. Hope your culinary excursions continue for the rest of your stay and we look forward to welcoming you back again someday.

What I find strange at this time of Covid is that more people aren’t visiting the safety of the Maldives. Each hotel is a natural bubble. And the Four Seasons here at Kuda Huraa have catered for all eventualities and are very serious about social distancing and any spread of the virus. All the staff here can’t go home. They have stayed on the island for 2 months now and there is no virus.
What this means, is that fortune follows the brave. The hotel is immaculate. The snorkelling is amazing. Turtles, Reef Sharks, Sting rays just by the hotels beaches. The surf is incredible. Diving to die for. Food sumptuous. Kids have so much to do. You receive 6 star care, on deserted beaches, in the most beautiful surroundings imaginable. I have been all over the world. Well not Central America. And this is the most incredible place I have ever had the pleasure of laying my head.
I cannot say enough. The Four Seasons are taking care of new COVID regulations and arranged to test us before our flight home via Dubai, without even letting us know. It was sorted so as not to worry us.
Don’t let anything put you off!
Ashfan, Nishan, Ali, Dhaadh, Isuru, and others I may have missed, and the managers Zak, Giovanni and Max have made this just unforgettable.
And very Safe.
Come quick while it’s empty!!

Thank you very much for taking the time to craft such a strong endorsement about Kuda Huraa, especially during these challenging times. We really appreciate that you let the world know and re-iterated the fact, that we are approaching this situation with the utmost of pre-cautions in order to continue to keep our resort and visitors 100% Covid Free. I am so glad to hear that the two of you had such an enjoyable experience with us (hopefully we will be able to offer tennis again in the not-so-distant future) and much appreciation for the shout out of those eight individuals you highlighted, especially Maximilian and Giovanni who have worked so hard in making this all happen so quickly. You are so right in that fortune will follow those brave enough to venture here from anywhere in the world to enjoy this wonderful experience. Thank you for choosing us and we hope to see you again.

We frequent Maldives and once u have stayed at some great hotels there it's really hard to get surprised or excited about new places there, but Four Seasons did it!
When we arrived the weather was rainy and I was upset coz it was our double birthday trip and I wanted it to be perfect.
and the hotel tried to do everything they could to make our stay more enjoyable. The hotel grounds are typical Maldivian style, villas aren't big and the plunge pool is smaller than a pool at Jumeirah for eg.
the sea doesn't have a house reef, the Marine center growing their artificially made reef but comparatively less fish and sharks and stingrays than at other places we have been.
However, while snorkeling my husband was lucky to see reef ray and a big shark.
The hotel management was very caring, showered us with attention. For birthday they set up a nice dinner table.
We had perfect private island movie night watching Home Alone with dinner and popcorn. Kids loved it!
We also had dolphin watching tour but didn't see the dolphins. The sea was choppy and I would suggest u think twice before booking this trip if u r not familiar with sailing and choppy waters.
Hotel GM set up a private dolphin watching and fishing trip for us as a complement from the hotel. We again didn't see any dolphins but we caught some fish!
For our birthdays they showered us with gifts, swimwear for our daughter, and many other small gifts. We felt as if the hotel cared like that only about us )
When we were leaving they arranged our check in and booked us the best seats.
Great hotel! Love it! Would 100% recommend it!
Ps. The food was probably the best we ever had during vacations. Kids ordered two dishes, like spaghetti and hot dog, coz they loved the food so much!!!!
U have the best staff! So caring genuine! And the best GM!

Thank you very much for taking the time to write in such a positive and uplifting review about your recent visit to Kuda Huraa. We really appreciate your acknowledgement of our efforts since we all felt the need to try harder given the less than favorable weather conditions (and the absence of dolphins, which is almost unheard of). We are all so happy to hear that you enjoyed your time with us, including our food, which is a big source of pride for all of us. Thank you very much for your kind and generous recommendation and we hope to see you all again! P.S... yes, I know I have the best staff!

Hi! I'm not 100% sure since we didn't stay on the villas but I believe all of the chairs on the beach are open to everyone. They aren't dedicated per villa.
This is the four seasons... and without doubt one of the best four seasons there is. There is no need to ask any question like this - they have thought of everything you could possibly need or worry about and taken care of it.
The boat transfer is enclosed, there is no limit on luggage (we travelled with two kids and a LOT of luggage). If the weather is bad they have a few different types of transfer boats and they will take the most appropriate one and if there is a number of people on your transfer they will use more than one of their boats so it's not crowded so the four seasons experience starts from the moment you set foot on that boat.
No. I'm pretty sure there wasn't as there is lttle to speed cash on.
Well, there is kids club but it was fairly underused by guests when we went and we felt bad leaving our kids there some days as a result - but the staff are very good.
Kids are certainly made to feel welcome on the resort.
A slight step down in quality (still luxury) but Niyama was superb for the kids. We are going back Feb (as much as it pains me to not stay at a Four Seasons (usually the only brand I stay with) the kids were so happy at kids club at Niyama it almost felt like we had a second honeymoon as they went every day and had loads of kids to play with. Ours were 3 and most the kids were 3-6 (a few younger also). We also had babysitting every night after the kids went to sleep so we had actual evenings!
Should fit just fine. They have standard 13A sockets fitted across the resort
