We travelled as a group of 3 couples in January 2022. Speedboat transfer was very choppy, the staff were great - always checking if we were feeling ok. On arrival to the island, check in was very efficient and we were shown to our rooms. We all stayed in superior vista, the rooms were lovely, we all particularly loved the outdoor bathroom. On day 3 of our 10 night stay we were all approached by staff and offered an upgrade to a water villa for the remainder of our holiday - fabulous gesture & free of charge!!! We were all beyond delighted. Water villa did not disappoint - beautiful. Food in both restaurants was plentiful - staff very friendly - shout out to Atiif in the main restaurant & Bijou at the bar. Afternoon tea was a lovely little touch at the bar every day - late afternoon. Weather was fabulous & we had no issues at all during our stay. It’s a bonus having sun beds numbered for each room. We loved it so much that 4 of us are now booked up to return again in January 2023 - can’t wait. See you all in January 🤩…
Summer island was an excellent leg of our trip. We spent one week here (with 3 kids 18/17/13) and then on to one week at Hard rock Hotel. We wanted to experience different islands of the Maldives. Highlights: 1. The Summer House was immaculate, amazing, spacious with it’s own pool, private space and was absolutely amazing. We struggled to find somewhere to accommodate x5 in Maldives. this was so good an option. Really fantastic accommodation, plus a kitchen, outside eating area, patio, own privacy etc. fantastic outside shower in own patio, plus jacuzzi bath with epic views. The house on the best bit of beach, there is a little reef shark that swims in the lagoon all day, it’s a close walk to the main restaurant/bar and is just gorgeous. 2. The Nevi bar was fantastic, quiet and v chilled out….chess, pool, darts, sundowners and the cricket on the TV. Staff were attentive and friendly…. Bijou stood out, as did Dhawa in the restaurant. The island is beautiful, not as quiet as we were expecting, but still pretty intimate. 3. Loads of wildlife from reef sharks to a resident crane, the biggest bats I’ve ever seen (!), lizards, fish etc. The fragrance of the soap/washing powder/shower gel/shampoo is Divine! Lowlights: 1. MosquitoesLittle devils….tiny things that don’t look like what I thought a mozzie looked like, but effective little suckers! Take loads of mosquito repellant. These didn’t seem to avoid us on Jungle Formula Maximum/tropical…. So maybe try something else! 2. The island had some kind of drainage/sewage problem whilst we were there. The smell was hideous and overpowering, plus a strong diesel whiff for a day also. They were trying to fix it; it clearly wasn’t normal or what it is usually like. Tips: 1. We had booked all inclusive which was really good, however breakfast ends at 9.30 so not so good if you want a lie in. They are very strict on carrying plates of food, so you could not pick up a couple of pastries and a banana for your family member who missed the serving, which was a shame. 2. The snorkelling trip included on the ‘all inclusive’ we only managed to go on once. It gets booked up and you cannot get signed up for it, so sadly it was not really an available for us. The take you to a reef in the middle of the channel, so only good if strong swimmer. Not suitable for littler ones. 3. Take snorkels/fins with you. Even the little reef around the island has lots of little fish. nothing too overly exciting, but fun and chill. 4. it’s ‘barefoot’ but the paths are concrete under sand, so I’d prob advise flip flops/sliders most of the time. 5. food is pretty good….loads of curry which we loved….but it is a smaller resort, so not an extensive choice.…
A direct flight to Malé is easier than a long stopover at Abu Dhabi, up to 7 hours in an airport is no fun. Boat transfer to Summer Island can be an exciting ride if the sea is choppy but great fresh air after hours of air travel. Summer Island is the perfect place to relax. You can wander right around the island on fabulous white sand in well under an hour. The sea is crystal clear blue. The accomodation is spotlessly clean, airy and right on the beach. Food is wonderful and the restaurant and bar have white sandy floors. Don't pack "posh" clothes, as you will be busy relaxing in t shirts and shorts when you're not in the sea. Staff are so friendly and ensure your stay is perfect.
Excellent 👍 place. We went there with our one year old daughter and our short stay was perfect. We got fantastic weather too. The water villas, restaurant all are world class standards. Though the speedboat journey from Male airport is bit expensive still I love this resort to visit. All staffs are helpful.
I have booked superior beach villa but they have upgraded me to premium beach villa which gave me access to 2 restaurants and amazing beach view from my room. Then Island is amazing and services was satisfying. Just need to improve the room service. Would love to visit again.
What a wonderful little island of paradise. We stayed 14 nights and wanted more, the perfect place to chill and leave the stresses and strains a long distant memory. Pros: ✅ The beaches and crystal clear sea (and amazing array of fish when snorkelling) are amazing ✅ The staff were fantastically friendly and service was brilliant ✅ Rooms catered for the stay and cleaned to a spotless standard every day ✅ When asked vegan and dairy free meals were made fresh for us Cons: ❗️The pool whilst beautiful is small and only has 8 sun beds ❗️Even on all inclusive you have to pay to attend certain restaurants ❗️Not a lot to do as trips were cancelled due to covid Great holiday in the lovely Maldives and if you wanted a reasonably affordable visit to a place on most peoples holiday bucket list then you won’t go far wrong with Summer Island…
I was expending the best holiday of my life however the stay overall was okay. We were greeted straight after a speedboat transfer and check in took quite a while but that was okay. We have been updated to a room that's got a limited sea view which was nice however we have requested a ground floor room as my mom found it hard to be keep walking up the stairs. I mentioned that to the staff and I've been told we'll be moved as soon as they can - never happened, even though there was plenty of ground floor rooms available (I've made a note through TUI what room we need due to health problems). The all inclusive restaurant was okay, nothing special. Mediocre dishes, not a lot of choice and a lot of fish which isn't great for people who prefer non fishy/meat dishes - not a lot of choices for vegetarians. The staff however was overall nice, except for one incident where we have waited over an hour for simple order (2 colas) when the bar wasn't busy at all. I've mentioned that to the reception staff but we've just been told it's been busy. The bar food is even worse than the restaurant. I've tried 2 dishes and it wasn't good, it was cold and quite pricey. Be aware of the little sharks as they don't mention there is any around island and best to be careful. Plenty of lizards too and they like to go to the bathroom so keep the bathroom door shut at all times. We had a couple of rainy days from 22nd June - 7th July however we didn't mind it at all as the climate is very intense when hot all the time. Overall I am definitely not happy with the holiday we've paid almost 5 grand for as it's not up to the high standards of tui. The views were amazing, however it's the details that kinda ruined it for us.…
It was my first visit to Maldives when i came to Summer island, and since that time i did not find some other which is better for me. Good service, clean and comfortable rooms, very friendly staff and beatuful Ocean around! I love this place much.
Summer island is paradise! The place is gorgeous; everything is pristine, the food is delicious and the staff is incredibly warm and competent. They go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and amazed in every way. I wanna thank especially Mari who welcomed me as an old friend at reception and Shakoor at the restaurant who always had a warm smile and was always making sure everything was to my liking. Thank you all the staff for making me want to come back.
Its an excellent choice for couples planning their honeymoon. Situated on a private island,it provides excellent food ,nice ambience and beautiful beach all around. They provided complimentary wine and room decoration since we were on our honeymoon. The only bad remark we felt is that their attitude is bit different towards us (Indians) as compared to westerners. We felt they are more welcoming and friendly to westerners than us. Overall it was a nice experience.
