I rarely write reviews, but really felt the need to for the wonderful Oblu Xperience. What can we say about this beautiful place. Obviously choosing to go to The Maldives and take your fairly young children across the world is a big decision, as well as building up the idea in your mind of what a tropical paradise will be like.
In advance, sorry for the essay....but hope it's useful.
Every detail blew us away. I must admit to being a little fussy about hotels, wanting things to feel a bit luxurious, but accessible and fun for our two daughters (9 and 7). The convenience of all inclusive, but not being repetitive or limiting.
Arrival - Our travels went smoothly both ways and the Oblu team that collect you from Male airport were kind and efficient with hot and jet-lagged people! As you arrived at the island on the speedboat (about 15-20 mins ride that was very exciting) there was a collective gasp at the beauty, with a team to greet you with applause and Maldivian singing. You are taken to a cool area of the bar with a welcome drink to have the island layout explained to you, and in the meantime your luggage is taken to your room. After the brief talk you are given your key and whisked to your room in a golf buggy (it is very walkable, though). It was so easy and a slick operation.
Room - The room was one of our favourite parts of the holiday. We booked a two-bedroom, two-bathroom family beach villa, and we had room 748 which was the most perfect location at the end of a row and next to the spa. We were ground floor with window seats both inside and outside the room, two sunbeds in your own small garden that then leads to the beach just a few metres away. The beach is stunning, quiet and more sheltered than the main beach. It was like swimming in bath water and was shallow so really safe for the whole family. The snorkelling there was the best we got - see below. We'll never forget it.
The beds were very comfortable, views when you open the curtains in the morning are something I'm pining for! The kids' room is perfectly done and our girls loved their space there (though were mainly about a metre away from us the rest of the time :-).)
Snorkelling - If I could recommend one thing it would be to take the full-face snorkelling masks. We snorkelled everyday and lent our masks to others so they could experience the world just under the surface. Baby sharks, the odd stingray, stripy fish, fluorescent, Nimos, trumpet fish - it was my lifelong dream fulfilled! Stick to near rocks, and the bit of the beach behind the beach villas in the 700 and 800s is so so good and more calm.
Food and drink - the food at Element X is really good and varied. When all inclusive, of course you miss ordering the exact meal you like, but this was overcome for three main reasons - the quality and range of types of food - local, international, salads, breads, desserts. There was always something for whatever you fancied - a lighter salad with delicious local tuna, meat and vegetables, curry, and to the delight of our children, fresh sweet breakfasts that ranged from pancakes to French toast, plus a range of pastries, cereals, and cooked breakfasts. Secondly, the different areas to sit in within the restaurant made you feel like you were in a different place, not the Groundhog Day of the same area and vibe each time. Some areas were more outdoors but with fans, but you had sand between your toes. Indoor overlooking the beach, elevated areas with more of a tropical feel. We enjoyed picking a different table each time. Thirdly, the wonderful quick and friendly service - it makes such a difference. The drinks there are good - with your meal you can help yourself to soft drinks, water, beer, white, rose and red wine.
X360 bar - Great vibe, wonderful staff and a range of drinks under the Fushi Plan - wine, beer, spirits and a large range of gorgeous cocktails. There are indoor areas, a semi-outdoor one with sand underfoot which kept our kids occupied while we could have a chat, and the bar you go to for a drink while you're by the pool. Just outside the bar is a big chess board that we loved playing.
Only Blu restartuant - WOW. See below under main pros of the trip, but the food is of the highest standard, wines to match each course, delicious home-made bread, top notch service and....of course all the sea life around you. I can't describe it. From the overall blue glow, to the dozens if not hundreds of fish types you see. They even provide a guide to fish types which we all loved spotting. I won't say more as I just would urge anyone to go, despite it being an extra expense. It's just so worth it.
Copper pot van - we didn't eat here, even though the food looked great it was an extra expense that we didn't feel the need to do.
Pool - Large, lovely pool that we spent many hours in! Nice water temperature, no culture of having to claim a sun bed (even in UK half term holiday time), fresh towels, water aerobics that isn't pushed on anyone but is v popular, music sometimes but quiet at other times depending on the time of day. The pool is right by the beach so you can access in seconds and also have that stunning view from your sun bed.
Gym - This was one of my husband's favourite parts of the holiday, while he got some time to himself and jogged on a treadmill while looking over the Indian Ocean. Lots of great equipment, not busy and staff who shook his hand on the last day :-).
Nature - Maybe my favourite part - this place is so beautiful. The colour of the sea, the beautiful beaches, but also the wildlife, chameleons running about, geckos on the walls at night, comical-looking birds rushing around amongst all the greenery in the amazingly maintained grounds. At one point my husband commented that he felt like he was in Jurassic park. And of course, the sea life, including hermit crabs who were constantly shuffling past and fascinated us all. It made the holiday for me and differentiated from other locations I've been to in Europe and the US.
The team - What an amazing set of kind, hardworking, lovely people. Everything was always immaculate, not too much trouble and seamless. People there seem genuinely happy and it makes such a difference. Thank you xx
Spa - we used the spa and are very glad we did. An amazing facial and massage in another league and reasonably priced. The setting is stunning. Definitely try it.
Watersports - a dedicated group of people offering a range of paid and non-paid for activities. They're so amazing in the sea, a couple of the guys had mastered the jet pack and their displays of this were a real crowd pleaser (see pics).
Main pros - The mind-blowing nature and beautiful scenery, different seating areas in the restaurant to make it not feel repetitive, the lovely staff, chilled vibe, relaxation and the way it all just comes together to result in a paradise - but one suitable for anyone. The underwater restaurant is the unique experience of a lifetime and even though it comes at a cost, it was worth every cent.
Tiny cons - It would be really nice if there was an additional a la carte restaurant you could eat at once during your week's stay, as the two alternatives are paid for and it would just be a nice change. But, the main restaurant, as mentioned, is varied and lovely. I also wouldn't mind a couple of mini wines in the mini bar :-) (you get x2 Coke, Sprite and beers).
We would absolutely go back to this hotel given the chance, and we all have a serious case of the holiday blues. The overall vibe, quality, beauty and staff are outstanding. It's in my top three holidays of all time, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. I really hope it's given our kids memories for life.

We were overwhelmed with the hospitality at Oblu Xperience. It was our very first visit to Maldives and returned with fond memories. We stayed at 729 and 829 for 3 nights. These rooms can easily accommodate 3 adults and 2 kids in each room. Starting from the reporting at airport counter on arrival to the drop at airport on the day of departure, everything were very systematic and hassle free. However, one of our rooms had minor concerns of wi-fi and non working door key. Our son had enjoyed the water slide and we loved the Underwater Restaurant Only Blue. As this is a family friendly resort and island, so 1. They should have more no. of carts / shuttles to pick and drop from different points frequently at least for ease of movement of elderly people and those who has issues with walking. 2. Snacks items should have some fresh fruits and other finger foods beside popcorns and peanuts only. 3. Can have movie Theater. 4. The stuffs at Souvenir shop and Water sports / activities are very expensive. 5. The swimming pool water is expected to be more cleaner.

Least expected from a newer property but this property blew us away with some amazing hospitality, the grand family villas were cost and nice , very warm family friendly feel, the beach is beautifully clean and smooth silky sand and a super inviting ocean that made you wanna dip in almost immediately, extremely well priced , perhaps shocking that they have so much all inclusive that too in Maldives. By the time it's evening you are in love with the vibe of this place.
The pool bar converts into an amazing lounge like feel, with live bands singing and a DJ , the good part is there are no private pool villas so all are in the main pool and it's a humungous pool, great service of drinks throughout the day, the place feels like one big party all the way till midnight.
The food is absolutely amazing, a great range of Italian Indian Maldivian srilankan Chinese on the menu , desserts included with a good variety.
Definitely a must do place , for this kind of pricing and deliverables, just speechless

To summarize, it was HEAVENLY! One of best and finest private resort in the heart of Maldives! We spent 3 nights and 4 days in beach villa #414. It was the best decision to book the beach villa as it gives you private access to the beach from the villa’s entrance itself.
You have two shacks that you can put at the beach and just enjoy the beautiful view of the ocean. In terms of room amenities they give you free water, flip ons, bathrobs, bathroom amenities such as waterfall shower, and other amenities.
Our package was inclusive of breakfast, lunch and dinner. They have amazing varieties of food which caters mainly continental and international cuisine, asian cuisine, indian cuisine and salad and desert section and the quality of the food was top notch and uncompromised.
What i felt was surprisingly good was the staffs hospitality especially the Element X staff Mr chamil, Chef Mr. Daksh, Ms. Ramya, Bartendar Bikash, Luna and the receptionist Ms Simran. The person Randy at the Gymnasium was quiet helpful too!!
The staff is really good and well trained and caters to most of the request.
Special shoutout to Mr. George from the Diving team and the other team members. I would definitely recommend their Snorkeling (63$ per pax), Jet Ski (95$ two person 15 mins) and Fun tube (100$ two person). The 360 Bar serves most of the beverages including whisky, vodka rum and other mocktails and cocktails.
The villa is 15’mins from Male airport and the only way to reach here is through a speed boat. A person from Hotel collects us from the airport and takes care from there for us.
The Resort has a nice pool but I felt that the water wasnt that clean and the ocean was infact clearer. The music is nice and the late night live show by a musical band is awesome as well! The singers are wonderful and the overall vibes are amazing. It is family friendly resort and also couple friendly. The water villas are beautiful too but my persona fav was the beAch villa. The ocean view rooms are inside a one storey apartment and they have good views too.
On a scale of 10 i would rate this 9/10! And yes i would definitely recommend visiting Oblu Xperience Ailafushu

It was a Real Wonderful experience in this Resort Island .We were 19 of us and enjoyed to the hilt. The Resort Surprised us in every aspect in a positive way . The Front desk managed by Krutika and Simran were always at the forefront to help The pool was clean and big The beach and Water villa were clean though I preferred the beach villa The Submerged Restaurant was lovely and the visualised Sea views were real great but for the steep price they need to do something for food to cater to all tastes at the submerged Restaurant.

Maldives - Amazing destination and we stayed at Oblu Experience Ailafushi, it is a new property inaugurated in June 2022. We stayed in a beach villa for 2 nights and in a water villa for 2 nights. The co-ordination of speed boat transfer was great with no delays. As soon as we landed, there were representatives from the resort to escort us to the speed boat and it was a seamless transfer to the resort.
The resort is great and it takes care of even the smallest of details (including umbrellas, slippers, life jacket, multiple towels etc). The food had 5 different cuisines and the Fushi Plan is one of the best. The organized night activities (DJ, Live Music, Local Dance performances on different days) were good as well. One of the best thing that the resort has done is the Kids Club. It has so many activities to keep the kids occupied that the kids just love it. Non-motorized water activities are included in the plan which is superb. The water sports and other activities are a bit on the expensive side, but we loved the Dolphin watching, Kayaking, Paddle boarding and Snorkelling. We went in August and it was super hot. Coming out of the room after 10am was a task in itself and it stayed hot and humid till 4pm (recommendation would be to use a lot of sunscreen of SPF 50+). Thankfully, it did not rain on any of the days and hence we could enjoy the sight seeing and other activities.
Couple of things which can improve: We were told that there is no buggy service to water villas and it was an issue to walk under the blazing sun to the villas and to the restaurants. On the day of transfer from Beach Villa to water villas, the coordination could have been better.

Hello, our name is Laura and Gerald, we come from Spain, we are staying from December 2, 2022 to December 8, 2022. We came advised by our travel agency El Corte Inglés. The truth is that we have no problem, we are staying in an Underwater villa and the Everything was really beautiful, everything was clean and tidy, the attention of its employees is exceptional at all times, they are asking you if everything is correct. If you need something, you feel really supported, then they have various sports activities such as, for example, you can practice diving, canoeing, motorcycle water, etc.. in the pool every morning you can do your aquagym exercises and then you can be in the loungers where you can enjoy at all times clean towels, soft drinks, popcorn, nuts or cocktails or if you prefer you can enjoy their private beaches. At mealtime they have a large room divided into several areas where the buffet is in the center where you can find international food, Indian food or Asian food. In each part of the resource there is a map that indicates where you are since it is quite large, so it has a walkway very long and quite large wooden that when it gets dark it lights up and shows you the walk to which it takes you to the gym where it is equipped with two rooms, one for cardio and the other for fitness with the latest technology machinery and the best of everything views of the entire Indian ocean that take your breath away, on that same walkway if you follow it to the end it takes you to the Spa area where you can enjoy all kinds of facial treatments and they have an underwater restaurant where you will be delight in views of the ocean while you are eating you will be able to see the fish and even the sharks swimming peacefully. When night comes and you finish having dinner next to the pool, you will be able to enjoy in the bar the magnificent music group that plays all kinds of music both for its local people and for those of more European tourists, the 80s, 90s, etc. ... they play all kinds of music and they do it very, very well and meanwhile the spectacular team of waiters who are on shift from afternoon to night are some cracks who are immediately attentive and serve you with a smile on their faces, which is appreciated. The reception staff is also very friendly, they help you and answer any questions. Without a doubt, as we said before, it is a place that we are going to recommend and to which we are going to return without a doubt.

I usually don't write a bad review but this place definitely needs one and I hope the Management sees this and make some improvements.
Positive: Views are amazing Good staff special mention to Estalita (Salsa), Jainish (Security), Arun and Anu ( Bartenders) and the Female Gym Trainer, thank you for providing exceptional service ☺️🙏
Negative: We are celebrating our Honeymoon here and after paying so much money, the least you could expect is a basic decoration with some flower petals or towel artwork or a sign or some chocolate or anything to make it little bit more special. I mean how expensive are some rose petals to throw on the bed.
Buffet selection is pretty limited and just taste less, usually when we go on a Resort we love to enjoy the buffet but at this place, I don't even feel like going for the food twice.
No fresh juices everything is concentrated, not even good selection of fruits. The Buffet is a total disappointment !!!
Bar is good, the guys working at the bar are very hardworking but the bar is always wet and sticky, it's needs to be cleaned regularly.
A lot of improvements can be done with the Music/DJ. The live band is not entertaining at all and does not get the crowd involved. It's loud and boring. Also I feel they can play a little bit more Bollywood Music just to cater to all the guests.
Overall it's an average resort, maybe 3 stars max and you can pay half the price in US/Europe for a much better resort experience.
In short, have low expectations from Oblu Xperience Ailafushi 😞😞

We decided to book last minute to surprise my brother for his 60th birthday. Well…we absolutely loved the resort and more importantly my brother was really surprised. The staff at the resort are absolutely amazing and so welcoming. The cuisine was very very tasty and varied. The only thing I would say is that there is no snack facility however if you have breakfast and lunch you are pretty much sorted until dinner. The other thing you need to be aware of is that if you’ve got an evening flight then check out is by midday with no courtesy room offer. They do have showering facility but for us we would have liked to remain in the beach villa without additional cost but fully understand that being a small island this is not practical based on demand. We thank the staff of OBLU XPERIENCE for making our holiday very special…I haven’t met a friendlier team then here🥰 we also throughly enjoyed the Maldivian night…very colourful and lots of dancing

We were in November in Oblu Experience Ailafushi. And we were impressed with the product it's a super beautiful heaven island hotel. The service is amazing. call the room service for a water bottle or a laundry they are at door within minutes at lightning speed. The spa is great with a great view as well from the therapy rooms. Prem, Adam, Vasabha, Shiyam, Hrithik, Kritika, Benu, Simran, and Hadeer(Scuba driving trainer) were always on the toes to serve and they made sure every guest is happy and well served. The hotel has a big kids' area which is the icing on the cake for parents like us :). The DJ nights were great entertainers. The food in the restaurant is delicious with a huge variety of different cuisines. We were there for 5 days with 2 days in a beach villa and the rest in a water villa and I must say incredible rooms with great amenities.

Yes you can, it is very interesting and usually a few small sharks to get close to. Take fins though as the water is flowing and can be tiring swimming against the flow. Never saw any turtles or rays but plenty of sharks.
There are more places to choose from in the Himmafushi Island area.
