An excellent all-round guesthouse experience: warm treatment, great food, impressive attention to detail, enjoyable activities. Made us feel at home in the Maldives. Fathu, the property owner, is diligent and attentive, and his wife Fathima cooks the most delicious food. They made for a warm and worthwhile experience for me and my madam during our honeymoon.

Fathu the owner of the property was a good host from the beginning till the end. As a bonus, he suggested us to visit another island which was worth the experience. The ambience was so calm and peaceful and the food was something that we relished through out the stay. They take good care of everything and when they discovered that our anniversary was falling on the last day of our stay ,an extra effort was taken to make the day even more special.

I have done snorkeling with Mr. Fathu (Owner) he is a good guide. We have spent mesmerising vacation with quite fare budget. He has arranged candle light dinner on beach site on our anniversary day. That was our best experience. Do visit this property.

If you are looking for a peaceful and beautiful stay in the Maldives you've found your place! This was by far the best booking we've ever had. Fathu and his family were incredibly hospitable and the property is just charming. Fathu arranged an airport pickup for us and he personally came to meet us at the harbor of Hangnaameedhoo. Also our luggage was picked up by a car so we didn‘t have to carry anything. After showing us the property, he gave us a walking tour of island and he told us a about the culture, the people, the different spots and lot of valuable information which came very handy during our stay. Fathu and his very friendly and charming family took amazing care of us and they were always around if we had any questions or requests. Fathu's wife Fatima prepares amazing meals and she looked after our three month old baby during meals or if we wanted to go snorkeling together without even asking. The island is very peaceful and has a nice bikini beach, however we've found that the best and most convenient snorkeling spot is right in front of the property. We had so much fun not only as a family but also as a couple and it was one of our best holidays for sure!

As a frequent traveler who has been to different hotels around the world but never tried guesthouses, I was a bit skeptical in the beginning. But this one exceeded my expectations. The place is awesome, the view is wonderful, the service is perfect with the most hospitable and nice people I’ve ever met. Fathu and his wife made sure we’re as comfortable as possible and all our requests were fulfilled. They arranged the airport transport for us smoothly. The excursions they provide are magnificent, we went to spectacular picnic islands and snorkeled everyday with the equipment they had at the place. They made a romantic dinner that we can never forget in our life. The maldivian cuisine is a bit different from our taste, but they modified the menu to suit our taste. Additionally, they have a range of water sport activities for adrenaline junkies. I would easily recommend this place to anyone I know who’s planning to visit maldives. Forget about the crazy expensive resorts, I’m sure you’ll never have as much fun as we had there. Great value for price and every dollar I spent there was totally worth it. Thank you Fathu for making our honeymoon unforgettable. Ps: all the uploaded photos are mine, not from the web. Fathu has a drone that takes magnificent pictures like these

Our vacations were fantastic thanks of the staff of Viva beach, very friendly, very nice as the guest house. The island Is a tipical tropical site of indian ocean but the plastic Is everywhere. The environmental sensibility of the manager & staff of Viva beach allowed to do anything useful for the environment

This was our first stay at Ocean Beach Inn. The beautiful beach house was highly recommended by my brother who stayed there 3 years ago. Starting from the airport transfer up to our daily excursions, such as snorkeling and island trips with picknick at the beach, we were spoiled by the Ocean Beach Team with excellent service! We enjoyed local food and had alternate choice of specialities every day. We were surprised with special dinner at the roof top and beach, it was amazing! They also organized the PCR Test for our departure and private boat transfer to Male. An all-around successful and unforgettable holiday, we definitely come back! Thank you Fathu and to your team!

We had a fantastic stay here! Everyone was very helpful and friendly. They supported us from the time we have booked a room and even organized the transportation to the island and back. They even helped me for a romantic dinner for proposal and it was a great success! The room was nice and clean and the food was very delicious. We loved this place and would come back everytime :-)

Trying to do the Maldives without breaking the bank is not easy, but Ocean Beach fulfils the brief very well – and the extremely accommodating hosts certainly make it a more personal experience than you might expect from one of the exorbitantly priced resorts. They also helped us navigate the baffling inter-island transport system and airport transfers, which was most helpful. We travelled as a couple, off-season, and found it a charming place to stay for five days. The manager greeted us rather formally on arrival, but that initial impression quickly evaporated after all the admin was taken care of. The owners and staff would happily sit and chat and laugh with us, but never outstayed their welcome – it felt natural, rather than simply good, professional hospitality. It was a real joy to be around them. The room itself was good – clean and well taken care of. There was space to hang out on the well-laid-out hotel beachfront with hammocks and loungers (in the sun), or the veranda (in the rain). About the island itself, the positives far outweigh the negatives. I feel the scale of the rubbish found around the place has been overstated in other reviews, and is mostly attributable to the flotsam that washes up from the ocean – hardly the fault of the inhabitants. True, as some reviewers have remarked below, the mosquitoes are unforgiving. But the hotel provided free, reasonably effective lotion and burned mosquito coils upon request - which went some way to keeping them at bay, Its the tropics though – if you don't take care to regularly protect yourself, you'll get mauled. And both the lotion and coils are available to buy cheaply in at least two local shops. The so-called 'bikini' tourist beach is absolutely fine and the water gorgeous. And if you're dressed respectfully, given the island's Muslim population, you can wander beyond that beach to a totally secluded stretch of sand that - on our visit - no one was using. The water is as stunningly blue as you'd expect - and that was in rainy season (the downpours and lightening storms were actually thrilling). You can also borrow the hotel's kayaks and circle the entire island, with or without a guide, in about half an hour or so. Remember, this is a residential island with a relatively new and small tourism element that has sprung up in recent years. The local population keep themselves to themselves and generally go about their day without much interaction with the tourists, from our experience. But it's a more insightful experience than some soulless resort, at least. (Note, there is no alcohol, in case you weren't aware.) The main drawback on the island is the lack of dining options. The hosts will ask you to confirm in the morning whether you want to eat there or not that day, which is understandable given the small number of people staying there and the need to prepare. It quickly dawned on us that it was pretty much the only dining option – the two cafes we visited were not good (and one, being in a small, shady courtyard, was besieged by mozzies – take a coil to burn!) The small supermarket has a very limited range of foods, too. At US$15, hotel meals were expensive compared with what we'd experienced in India and Sri Lanka, but a lot cheaper than what we heard one Maldivian resort was charging. The lack of dining options is the main reason why it would be hard to recommend staying on the island for more than a few days, if you're looking to experience more variety. Given the tiny size of the island, don't expect to do a lot more than relax with a book, as the cute little hermit crabs scuttle slowly across the sand around you and the herons hang out a few feet away. You can, of course, take to the water, and we did the hotel's excursion out to the coral reef to snorkel with a dazzling array of fish and bobbing turtles, which was an unforgettable experience. We promised the hosts at the time that we'd post a review (our stay was in August 2019), so many apologies for the delay!
