Not having visited the Maldives before this was a whole new experience for us. But as a party of four what a great holiday we had. The people make this resort, they care greatly for each and every visitor to their hotel. We cannot fault the hospitality, care, welcome or food given to us. The rooms are spacious, spotless (thank you Raju and Norman) and uniquely beautiful. The beach wide and the sand soft. The snorkelling trip two of us went out on was so memorable. At each and every point the staff at Coco Palm ensure that your expectations are exceeded and little touches are shown to delight and make your stay special. Big shout out to Raju, Norman and Hasanka who decorated our room, and table on the beach, and in the restaurant for our anniversary and again when we left. So special. The food is outstanding and most definitely the best we have had on any of our numerous all inclusive holidays. We thank you all, and look forward to seeing you again in the future.…
This was my 11th trip to the Maldives, but my first visit to Coco Palm. In my option it rates as one of the best, when it comes to the overall holiday package and excellent value for money. Every member of staff are very keen to ensure you have a good stay and do everything they can to ensure this happens. I have not had this level of attention in all my visits to the Maldives
Coco palm is a perfect barefoot island hosted by a super professional team , I also want to thank you again to Jegan he did a fantastic job! We had a beautiful Beach bungalow with pool with a perfect beach in front of our villa, the food is absolutely great at this coco palm island. Coco palm is the first island where defently will come back
Our visit to Coco Palm was our 5th visit to the Maldives over the past 36 years, and we have seen a lot of changes in that time, not necessarily for the better. Coco Palm DhuniKohlu has thankfully kept a traditional feel, with good quality villas that are very comfortable to stay in. The island is lovely, beautiful beaches, with a very relaxed with an informal atmosphere, it really has a dessert island feel, arrive kick off your shoes and never put them back on, that's it, just what we love. The island is a great size taken about a 40-50 minute lazy stroll to walk around on the beach, we did this at least once a day taking dips in the sea along the way, stopping off at the bar for a refreshing drink. We loved relaxing at the beach bar in the early evening to watch the sunset, just fabulous. The Beach Villas are all of a good size the only differences we could ascertain is that the Luxury ones are slightly larger with a bath plunge pool, there are a few with a front plunge pool by the beach. The standard Beach Villas are pretty generous in size and ours was very comfortable. One thing to note is that the island has some beach erosion as others have mentioned, sadly this is the case with many of the islands now. However this is being very well dealt with by strategically putting in large sand bag groins that become buried by the sand and stop further erosion. Due to this the Luxury Beach Villa we initially were given had limited beach at high tide, we asked to be moved to one with more beach and the next morning when one became available we were moved, the staff asked us to check we were happy with it first. All the staff are friendly, very helpful and accommodating. The food at Coco Palm is the best we have had in the Maldives and one of the best in 36 years of long haul holidays. The all inclusive package is excellent, it is a buffet lunch and dinner, but the quality of the food exceeds a normal buffet. Nearly all the hot food is cooked fresh as you request it, and there is good variety every day. The quality of the cold food and salads is excellent with at least one sushi type fish dish available. What we really liked is that only smaller quantities are put out and these are regularly refreshed so the standard and quality remains high though out the service. We could not really fault the food at all. The waiting staff and chefs were very attentive and excellent. We will be returning hopefully on 2023…
We have just returned from a week at Coco and I have to say this resort was amazing. Upon arrival until we left all the staff were very friendly and helpful but it didn't feel like it was manufactured, they are genuinely friendly and happy people. We spoke with one of the managers on the last day and he explained their ethos is if their staff are happy then their guests will be happy too and that certainly resonates across the resort. The food is amazing with many themed nights and gorgeous currys. We loved the intimacy of the island as it's not a huge resort so it didn't feel commercialised. The resort is also working hard to be eco friendly and sustainable. They produce their own water and have no plastic on the island. Whilst we were there they celebrated world environmental s Day and we got to plant one of the 100 trees they planted on that day. We managed a couple of excursions one being snorkeling for turtles. All excursions were very well managed and we were accompanied by the Turtle Sancturys marine biologist who was very informative. The turtle sanctuary is a must if you visit this resort, they are doing some great work to protect and help these gracious creatures. In conclusion, we had a wonderful week In paradise and have no hesitation in recommending this resort.…
These are my personal views to help people draw there own conclusions on the good and not so good points of Coco palm, Dhuni Kolhu. This is my third trip to the Maldives, 1st Royal island, 2nd Kuredu and now Coco Island, I fire from the hip saying as it is (not to offend people) but give the truth as I see it. Holiday booked before covid struck the world and put off two years running. 12 nights, beach villa, room 41, all inclusive. Greeting to island, very nice with reception very nice, could do with the roof fans on more The Island: Absolutely beautiful 10/10, the greenery, layout and different foliage was a joy to walk through daily and well maintained. The staff: Excellent 10/10, I could not fault one person, all polite, all smiling, if a problem arose it was sorted. Special praise should go to all, but a few made the holiday become what it was, Sushanta, Sakkara, Jyoti = F&B, Ashmita & Shara from the kitchen, with Jegan from the front office. 👏👏👏 The Spa, Outstanding ( I don’t use words like this often) 10/10 best one I have been too, I don’t really like massages, I do it for the wife, excellent facilities especially the jacuzzi afterwards (ask for jacuzzi after massage or you will miss out) Beach villa: room 41 I could not have asked for better, slightly secluded, practically on the beach, placement and amenities of the room were great for me 9/10, lost a mark due to mosquito net around and over bed had quite a few holes in it? Cleanliness of villa 7/10, clean towels daily, cleaned room daily, anything can aesthetically be made to look good but start digging and mmmmmmmmm, the floor needs a damn good steam clean, and as for the lamp shades on the wall and the standard light I might as well have been in captain Jack Sparrows cabin. ( Change them guys) Food, now I like my food and will not put up with poor quality or poor service anywhere when I am spending my hard earned pennies. Lunch 10/10 lovely, visited 4/12 days, evening meal 10/10 just excellent I looked forward to this every night, it hit my taste buds perfectly, Conch bar snacks mid afternoon for all inclusive 3/10 (needs revisiting guys) = poor, Breakfast mmmmmmmmmm I saved this till last, I just can’t get past 6/10 (maybe it’s me) I felt eggs were poor quality, layout could be a lot better, fruit juice poor quality only three per sitting in containers from the 1970s, as for the cheese container, please guys bin it and get something far better from the era of 2022, (continental meats might not go amiss, butter in the croissants might help) Conch bar/ beach bar, both nice, good service, just poor cocktails due to rubbish spirits being used for all inclusive, you could always pay 12 dollars per drink with premium spirits and premium additives, needless to say I didn’t. Beach bar at 1900 hours was great for your sunsets. Conch bar needs it white lamp shades in the ceiling changing, they are filthy. (I should not be picking up on items like this) The weather was awesome all holiday even though we are supposed to be in the rainy season, only one afternoon did it rain for about an hour, other rain was at night when you were in bed, nature was being very convenient there. The sea, mmmmmmmmmm when I book a holiday like the Maldives it is for three basic things all of which have equal rating, weather, relaxation & snorkelling, 2 out of three met, first time in Maldives I have been disappointed with snorkelling, maybe time of year with tides etc, but the sea was not clear, a lot of silt, coral bleached and dead in vast swathes of the sea, the sea looked perfect with different shades of turquoise blues, but it wasn’t until you snorkelled did you see a different picture, yes there are fish, I saw turtles but the clarity of the water was poor with dirt on the top also, I have snorkelled in the Caribbean, Egypt, previous Maldives, the most disappointed I have been. Turtle sanctuary 10/10 for what they are doing, many turtles with only 3 flippers due to entanglements in ghost nets, I wish I was there in July to see the hatching of buried turtle nests, that should be lovely. Items to consider: no rooms on the island have T.Vs, they do have WIFi. No swimming pool on the island, the sea is all around it. All inclusive fridge in room only has soft drinks, no beer. On booking the holiday two and a half years ago I’m sure coco palm was 4 star plus, now you will see it is 4 star, my review is 5 stars for my holiday! The facilities are just 4 star, there has been a lack of investment into all facilities on the island = quite visible (maybe covid is partially to blame) you can see investment restarting, but the island has so much to offer and with the right vision could even get to 5 star in about 2 years, but there has to be a focus to do this, you have Mother Nature, you have fantastic staff, you must put more money into all areas if you want to move the island forward, you have under utilised facilities on the island that can be bought to life. Thank all the staff please for a nice holiday as without them you would not have got 5 trip advisor stars. If the investment company for this island would like to hear my ideas please feel free to contact me on a consultancy basis. I always sign off with would I go back, maybe in 5 years for maximum 9 nights as 12 was too long and then it must have a swimming pool. Regards John…
It was my first time traveling to the Maldives but certainly not my last time at Coco Palm. From the moment of our arrival until the day of our departure it was service of the highest level. We made a lot of new friends with the staff and we’re looking forward to see everybody again soon.
We had the most chilled week possible. Everything and everyone on the island made us smile. Our beach villa was comfortable, cool and clean. I thought there might be mosquitoes, but the report mists regularly so there is no problem. Would love to come back. Thank you.
Where can I start, this is paradise, the villa was perfect, the staff could not have been more helpful or friendly, the food was great, nothing was too much trouble for these amazing people. The island was more than we could have believed, and the snorkelling was far more than we could have imagined, such diversity just a few metres into the warm sea, I have never stepped into a warm sea and seen such life, just like swimming in the biggest and most natural aquarium. The staff were more than staff, they became, because of their warmth, friends. I find it difficult to express just how perfect this was for us both, we cannot wait to return, and we will
Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu! Although it is officially not a 5 star category luxury resort, the people, location and ambience will make a tourist feel like it is one! We stayed in an overwater Lagoon Villa (no. 94) which is the best for a marine aficionado. The place is picturesque with an outstanding marine life! Sharks, Sting Rays, Eagle Rays and a smorgasbord of diverse fish visited our Lagoon Villa every night! My husband and I would spend hours on deck just watching these graceful creatures nonchalantly swim by. On more than one occasion we were graced by the presence of a Green Sea-turtle, perfunctorily waltzing by without giving ever so much as a passers glance. On a clear night the Milkyway puts on a show with a streak of shooting stars and if your stars align you may receive a cosmic comeuppance with a visit from the recherché Manta ray or a Dolphin! The island during day is a beautiful maze that needs to be traversed on foot. If it’s not too hot then you’ll love the exploration. Do pay a visit to the turtle rescue center and donate if you’d like. The resort is doing a fine job in saving these endangered treasures of the ocean. Coco palm is heaven for a foodie! P.S. Make sure you loose some weight before u visit because the food is out of this world! Must try the Maldivian Delight and the brownie. The people that work at the resort made our stay memorable in ways we couldn’t imagine. Raazi the resort ambassador needs special mention as he painstakingly took the time out of his busy schedule to teach me snorkelling and took my husband on several visits to the deep blue line. He was also instrumental in planning my Husband’s Birthday surprise dinner in a private location on the island, right by the beach! The island has some breathtaking spots where one can have their wedding, honeymoon dinners and surprise parties. If it weren’t for Raazi, our trip would never have been an ‘out of the world’ experience. Another gentle soul that made our trip special is Akshaya at the reception who takes care of all your needs and ensures you have a hassle free stay. She has a motherly approach towards you and when she’s around you can be rest assured that you will face no issues on the trip. She’s also a soon to be doctor who treated our wounds immediately and effectively. She also played a big role in planning and executing our honeymoon dinner and my husband’s birthday dinner. Maria and Sarah at the reception also made our stay memorable. Mumtaz from room service ensured we had sufficient water to drink and our room ready by day and night. Chef Shara, Chef Subhadeep and the entire F&B staff were sensational in their service. Warm and courteous in their demeanour but a whole lot of fun when you break the ice. Bino who is the F&B incharge took special care of us and made sure we had all our favourite dishes during our stay. Sammy who walked us through the property on day one was always in the background, doing his best to make sure we had the best time possible. Pawan from the gift shop is a wonderful person by heart and a magician with the camera. If you find him, request him to take your photo and you’ll know what I mean. Dulal who carried our luggage made our check in and check out effortless. Coco Palm has a very nice Conch Bar with an amazing view of the beach and Sundar who works there gave us good suggestions on the food and drinks. By the time our trip came to an end, every member of the coco palm resort touched us in so many ways that they became family from whom it was gut wrenching to part ways with. There were smiles, hugs and tears when we had to get on the seaplane. Raazi and 10 other staff members came on our final boat ride from the island to the seaplane. It was a tough goodbye for all of us but one that was only temporary! We’ll be back soon and so will you!…
