We stayed at this resort for just a one day. But the experience and the hospitality was unbelievable. We stayed in an Water Villa with private pool. A wonderful mini vacation. It was beyond expectation and the views and sounds from the sea were splendid, beyond the relaxing atmosphere of the villa. We were taken straight to our villa on arrival and found a fruit basket and bottle of sparkling wine. The villa was absolutely amazing - we really couldn't believe it. It was huge and very luxurious. The bed was enormous and very comfortable. The lounge area was also quite large with a widescreen TV and DVD player, also an espresso machine (free of charge to use) and minibar (not free of charge!). There was a double bath which looked out over the private deck area and the ocean and a very nice large shower, 2 sinks and separate toilet - also 2 large wardrobes complete with beach bag to use during your stay. Outside is a deck area with a mini infinity pool, 2 sunbeds, a table and chairs and also an cushion bed . We only left our room to go snorkeling or for meals in the restaurant. - because the villa was so nice we really didn't want to leave it and there was no need to as we could sunbathe and cool off in the pool there. The rest of the hotel was lovely - staff were fantastic Especially Nazim (Front office), Mohammed (Housekeeping), Naufal (Restaurant) All of them was very professional, friendly, attentive and polite food was very nice. Food and drink was very expensive as is expected for the Maldives so be prepared for a huge bill when you check out! I'm sure there are loads of things I have missed off but overall I would say that this hotel was absolutely brilliant and We thoroughly enjoyed it and appreciate all the work that the resort put into our visit. I would definitely recommend it, we would love to go back.

We returned from our 6 day family trip at Coco Bodu Hithi and it was amazing to say the least. I will share my review with some tips which will help the fellow travellers . Here goes nothing.. We arrived at Male ariport and were immediately welcomed by a representative from the Coco resort . He took us to the counter , checked our names, tagged our bags and we headed off the Jetty. The speedboat was waiting for us and with one other family we breezed our way to the island. The speedboat journey was smooth (seats are well cushioned) and comfortable. Within 30 mins we arrived at the resort. ( Turns out if the weather is good, you arrive earlier than the usual 45 mins ) Upon arrival , we were greeted warmly by the staff with smiling faces, claps and drums . We met Raj who was assigned as a concierge for our stay. Raj was such a superb host. The moment we met him we were in love with him - very warm , friendly, polite. He explained all our activites, in fact he had pre-booked whatever we were entitled for , it saved us the time and energy. He was available throughout on whatsapp and promptly helped us whenever we needed anything. Since it's a once-in-lifetime visit for us, Raj ensured that we didn't lack anything. He upgraded us to an Escape water villa (more on that later) which we were very keen on. I had requested the resort to arrange lunch for us as a part of the All inclusive package on the arrival day and even before me asking Raj took us straight to the restaurant and completed the check in formalities later. That was really thoughtful and such small gestures matter a lot. We also enjoyed a cranberry ice tea welcome drink . The villas : We wanted the best of both worlds , hence had booked a Island Villa(IV) as well as the Water Villa. Both are excellent choices. The Island Villa 331 had direct access to the sand/ beach and this was one of my requirements for the stay in the IV. Sadly, most of the IVs do not have this privilege, since there is erosion .. the sand shifts and although you may have access to the water , you may have not have enough sand outside your villa. Pro tip : Request for a room with a good beach before you arrive. Escape Water Villa was magnificent! We got room 515 which was right at the end of the water villas. When you step into this , you will feel you are in another world altogether.. you will be lost in the beauty of the unending ocean , beautiful corals and colourful fishes. The interiors are artistically designed with the beds facing the ocean , separate living room and bathtub facing the swimming pool. We saw a Hawsbill turtle, manta Ray , reef shark, parrot fish .. such a treat to the eyes. Pro tip: Ask for the corner rooms , they are the best, but they do require you to walk for 5 to 7 mins as the Buggy will drop you off at the beginning of the ramp and not directly to your water villa. Both villas were palatial and I would recommend a split stay in a IV and EWV but if you have to select one , I would recommend Escape water villa. The food : Since we were on a AI basis, all 3 meals were at the Air restaurant but we had no complaints since the variety in the dishes kept the menu interesting. Breakfast had eggs, bacon , cold cuts (salmon too) , breads, pancakes , waffles , french toast , fresh juices &fruits, danish(dont miss this), donuts , etc Lunch was arranged just outside the restaurant but with a smaller spread (2 live stations , 4 main course, salads and fruits) Pro tip : You can request for some icrecream as desserts are not a part of the lunch buffet. Dinner was grand with a huge spread of continental, Indian and American cuisine Beef , Fish and chicken dishes were served everyday and the live station menu offered different items each day like noodles, pizza, etc . Dessert section did not disappoint either. Drinks were served at Latitude which is just next to Air restaurant. The all inclusive menu had a selection of international sparkling, red, white and rose wine. Cocktails and mocktails were included. Canned juices and water was also a part of it. Fresh juices were not included. We did try the coconut water and Red bull ( not included in AI ) Divya and Sheetal from restaurant were so sweet and welcomed us every time we stepped in for a meal. They pampered both our kids and ensured to have a nice conversation with them. There were few others whose name I couldn't get but were really helpful ; The chef at omlette station The Sri Lankan chef The server who checked with us for drinks. These folks were very professional and made us feel very special. Pro tip : Go for the Half board and experience other restaurants for lunch (if open) since the lunch spread was not very vast. The Spa : Our package included a 45mins Couples Coco fusion massage but obviously it wasnt enough :) Murthi , the therapist was so good that I booked another Balinese massage on the next day . The Spa manager was very kind and polite and mentioned that the therapists are trained and assessed every 3 months to ensure high levels of service. Pro tip : Ask for any promotional offers where you will get to experience a good 50 mins massage for a reasonable rate during their non peak hours (10.00 am-1.00 pm ) Getting around the Island : The buggy is available , you need to dial the reception and they arrange for it real quick. Its free of cost but I noticed most guests prefered to walk it out. Its not a very long walk but we frequently used this as our kids loved this and it would be tiring to carry them around. Taj, our buggy man. What a wonderful person he was. Very kind , smiling and offered us to see some nice views on the island which we had not explored before. Always eager to serve us. Pro tip: Call the buggy after you are ready as they arrive pretty quickly since its a small island. Island experiences : We tried the sandbank excursion which was good. We did a mini photography session with the resort photographer which is also recommended if you do not have a DSLR or any high end cameras. We wanted to try the house reef snorkelling with the Marine biologist but she wasnt available during our stay. We booked the Kayak but due to strong currents, we were unable to do that. We tried the sunset cruise which is highly recommended. (its a one hour trip on a simple boat , the views from the top deck - where they place comfy bean bags - are stunning. They offer wine /juice and canapes on the boat ) The common pool was operational but hardly used by anyone . There was a movie screening on the beach, the set up was beautiful but we didnt avail it. The Floating breakfast is definately recommended. ( try it on the water villa stay) Cleanliness and safety : Almost all the staff is vaccinated and never once I have seen them without their masks. The island is also clean and so are the rooms. The IVs do have lot of mosquitoes but thats expected due to the dense vegetation around the villa. Pro tip: Spray some mosquito repellent(provided) in the room before you proceed for dinner and voila ! you can rest in peace. :) Also Keep the doors tightly shut throughout the day . Children/Kids feedback : Initially I was skeptical to book a resort without a kids club , expecting to see only couples but there were at least 4 other families with little children during our stay The staff was gaga about the kids and were kind enough to take any requests ( I requested for a brocolli puree one evening for my 9 month old ) They have high chairs at the restaurant which really helped. They have kids menu like meatballs, spagetti, kfc , potato cutlets, potato wedges, hash browns etc which my 7 year old enjoyed. For the infant , they had some items on the menu which worked well even though I carried baby food. Plain rice , rice congee, papaya, banana etc. EWV had safety railing but the ramp didnt have any and was scary to walk. Pro tip : Pick your life jackets from the water centre and use them for the private pool times and needless to say keep an eye on them always. My 7 year old really enjoyed feeding the fish, watching a Crane visit us each day at breakfast , private pool and the food. Summary : We have travelled to many places but I have not seen such hospitality anywhere. We were very impressed with the staff and their genuine gestures and big hearts . The sweet staff and the palatial rooms are the USP of this resort. Overall I would definately recommend Coco Bodu Hithi to everyone who would like a secluded and classy getaway !
