Detailed Reviews
Rooms on the smaller side, but quite comfortable. Nice onsen. The restaurant attached to the hotel was a 'shabu-shabu' style where you can cook your own selections on a grill built into the dining table. Food delicious, although a little pricey, particularly the beef choices. Staff very helpful considering the language difference. Breakfast included - a tray of western-themed or Japanese themed foods - and was tasty and filling. Small elevator so easiest to use the stairs unless you have your luggage.

Although the hotel is very far from Kawaguchiko Station, I remember it took me forever to reach the hotel, 😂.
The hotel is very nice.
Staffs are very attentive.
The room is very cozy for me.
I super like the Open Bath.
I tried it after a whole day tour, it soothes and relax my body. 💜.
The breakfast is superb.
The food in their restaurant is great as well.

Fuji Tatsugaoka is a nice hotel near Fuji Q-Highland
You can reach this hotel by taxi but I choose to walk from Fuji Q-higland station..
It took only 15 minutes walks and you can enjoy the neighborhood while walking.
There are delicious Chinese restaurant with reasonable price, convinient store, fruit stall, department store and small cafe with fresh bread, that you can smell it in the air.
The hotel have 2 onsen, for men only and women only. Too bad I couldnt have a chance to try it.
What's surprised me is, you can enjoy the view of Mt Fuji from your breakfast table 😍
And their Japanese style breakfast is sooooo delicious
I stayed in this hotel for one night (Nov 20) which I regret it 😅
I should've spent 2 nights !
Defenitely will be back to stay in this hotel again 😍

This hotel was a classy high end hotel in the '80 and '90 but nothing has changed since.
Staff is friendly but don't speak alot of english bit they try their best.
Room is small with a decent bathroom but the bedding is old and has some stains that wont wash out giving it a dirty feel, same goes for the curtains and carpet and AC. We had bad nights due to mosquitos that we still have no idea where they came from. Windows closed and still got bitten every night, my guess is that they come in through the very old and dirty Ac unit.
Breakfast is ok but has a very weird system. You have to tell reception at what time you want breakfast and of you want western or Japanese style, they give you a slip with the info and in the morning you give this slip to the staff.
It is located near FujiQ station but the sightseeing buses depart from Kawaguchiko which is still a 30 min walk.
Do try the Onsen, it is not crowded so good if it is your first time to get a feel. They do say that the onsen has Fuji views but this is not true.
When you decide to have dinner in the restaurant next to the hotel you get a discount but this has the same dated feel as the hotel.
Overal i would not visit again because the rooms are to dated and it is not close to the main sightseeing attrations

We chose this due to being near to Fiji Q highland which was only about a 10 minute walk away. The views from the room were roller coasters with Mt Fuji in the background, which was awesome.
The room was very small and a bit old fashioned. No room for luggage and bed jammed in a corner. Bed was quite comfortable though.
Breakfast was a set choice of 'western' or 'Japanese' and you got what you were given with no other choices. You also had to choose the breakfast time the day before.
Service was friendly but little english spoken. They spent ages trying to explain how the onsen worked then told me I could not use it as I had a tattoo (which was very common and I was expecting it, but but why bother explaining how to use the onsen in the first place)

Stayed here for 3 nights with the family. The staff are great . The rooms are a little small but very clean. The rooms came with free breakfast. We tried both the western and Japanese both were delicious. I would love to come back and stay again.

No complaints at all - comfortable, tidy rooms with many ameneties (although more than one coffee sachet would be welcome). Excellent western breakfast with salad, small fruit selection, yoghurt, toast and soft warm bun as well as ham and scrambled eggs.
Onsen is fantastic - a bit of a wait during busy periods for the showers but great shower strength and warm. Bath is outside and it feels amazing to relax in the hot water with the cold air on your face! Would love to return!

Very warm welcome at reception on arrival. Bags stored and taken to our room whilst we were out sightseeing. Room very compact though we knew that upon booking.
Choice of Western or Japanese breakfast and Japanese option very tasty.
Book a room facing road - bit of traffic noise - and you will get a view of Mount Fuji on a cloudless day.
Rooms on the third floor have a smoking room at end of corridor so you can get guest noise so book 301 at the other end of corridor.
Good restaurant on site with a 10% cash discount to residents.

Not sure about having tattoos. The Onsen seperate men / women . Each side has its changing room. You will have the whole pool to yourself if you use it early in the morning or late at night.
