We spent 3 nights at Tangkoko Lodge during July 16 after the lodge was recommended and booked by our local guide Samuel, who we'd contacted and arranged things with beforehand. The Lodge itself is set in decent grounds, with Sulawesi Scops-owls roosting in bamboo just outside the dining room. The room was large, simple and clean when we entered and...

Loved this lodge which is right on the doorstep of the park. The guides are fantastic and are particularly known to be great at bird spotting. So joyful when they take you into the park. We saw everything we came for including Tarsiers in the morning if your able to get up at 5.00am. I loved the playful black crested...

Visited Tangkoko National Park with the express intention to see its birdlife and fauna. On a previous trip to Weda, Halmahera 2 years earlier we'd me a couple who told us of Tangkoko and recommended Tangkoko Lodge and its owner & guide, Bobby. We realised just how special Bobby was when our Lion Air flight from Denpasar was rescheduled and...

The accomodation itself does not rate 4 stars but the room was large, there was a decent bed, a powerful fan, aircon which worked (sort of), lots of hot water (no soap or toiletries) and dinner and breakfast were simple but fine. The real point here though is the wildlife and the fantastic guides. In just one late afternoon and...

Our brilliant bird guide Samuel recommended this lodge, and we are so glad he did. Newly constructed and very clean, the rooms had nets and air-conditioning, and the park forest begins in the back garden- owls call at night, and birds fly through. Frankie and his family were attentive and kind and provided wonderful service for birders--offering early pre-dawn breakfasts...

This homestay was booked for us by our local guide as it's one of the "best" in the area. It's essentially a room with a bed in it and toilet tacked on to the back but it more than suited our needs. The room was basic but clean and it does have air con as well as a fan which...

Our birding group stayed here three nights at the end of our trip to Sulawesi and Halmahera. By far this was one of our best lodges during the trip. Very clean, comfortable rooms with western toilets and a shower (yay!) and air conditioning! The food wasn't bad either. Very conveniently located not far from the Tangkoko National Park entrance.

Providing basic accommodation just minutes to one of the world's flora and fauna conservation area, Tangkoko Nature Reserve, Tangkoko Lodge is a great choice to stay in if you do not wish to travel the 2 hours journey before visiting the nature reserve. We arrived at Tangkoko Lodge in the afternoon and spent some time walking to the village and...

Tangkoko Lodge is clean and comfortable for rural accommodation (even aircon or fan in rooms) plus fresh and tasty home cooked meals. It is close to the reserve and Bobby is a fantastic guide (he is now also training up younger guides). We saw more wildlife and birds than we could have hoped for in four days. Thanks for a...

I recently stayed at Tangkoko Lodge for 3 nights. It;s a lodge with nice surrounding, comfortable room, good food. I saw a Yellow-billed Malkoha just outside the restaurant. It would be better with wifi and hot water. Bobby, the owner, promised to improve it soon.

“The newest rooms are very comfortable & clean. Bobby is aware that they need a few more things like shelves and hangars but the whole staff will go out of their way to look after you.”
