Jungle trek, jungle trek, in bukit lawang! (The tune is to jingle bells - and our kids will never forget the song that our guides taught us.) Penn and Juri are fantastic guides! We saw 5 orangutans, enjoyed lunch with a view, completed a trek, and rafted down the river back to Garden inn. The entire staff at the inn is warm, friendly and welcoming. It was very easy to email and coordinate with the owners. We are very happy about the adventure we experienced. The menu at the restaurant is wonderful. I loved the coconut shake. Kids loved the pancakes. We look forward to returning! Thank you Garden inn for a wonderful time!

Big thank you to Dieky for picking us up from the airport, really easy to organise through The Garden Inn. We did the 2 day jungle trek with Jury, who was the best ! The Garden Inn is beautiful, from the detail of the rooms to the immaculate garden and tasty food. The surrounding area is stunning, and all the locals are so welcoming and friendly. The Garden Inn is right by the river and it is so peaceful listening to the sounds while sleeping. We were lucky enough to see an orangutan and her baby from our balcony. We would definitely recommend the two day jungle trek. We saw seven orangutans, due to the amazing, knowledgeable and fun guides we had. We loved the jungle experience. Don't hesitate to book The Garden Inn!

What an amazing stay! The staff is really friendly, the food is good and the rooms are clean. We saw lots of monkeys from the balcony, so nice! We went on a jungle trip with one night in the jungle. The guides Pen, Joe en Perry are really kind and make you laugh. Everything was well settled and it was a great experience for us. I have a few allergies, and all the staff were thinkfull. When I order, they all knew about my allergies. They prepared my food as I like without asking. We were sad to leave, because we could stay here for a long time I think!! And for Perry: good luck with the jungle run, you can do it!!

I am so glad to have met Ujai and his staff. It was positive to see Ujai as a great mentor for the next generation of young locals towards sustainable tourism and development :) As a solo traveller, I was definitely well looked after. Pen was fun to have as a guide on the jungle trek, and I highly recommend him for your next trip. Everything was great, but do be aware that the macaque monkeys can be bothersome if you leave food in your balcony.

We stayed 3 nights at Garden Inn, and they also organized a 2 day/ 1 night Jungle trekking experience that was fantastic. They are located a short walk outside of the Centre of town so you don’t hear any noise from the town, but can walk there in 5-10 mins. You only have the peaceful sounds of the river and the great views of the forest which you can watch from the balcony of the room or the restaurant. The staff at the Garden in were very friendly, and they helped organise the jungle trek and car rides to/ from Bukit Lawang at a good price. The food from the restaurant was also very good - especially the BBQ fish! Our guides for the jungle trekking, Pen and Bob, were very knowledge about the jungle, and went above and beyond our expectations to make sure we had the best experience. Once we got to camp we were joined by cook Jul, and all three were great company in the evenings and helped my the experience even more memorable with their jungle games and good humor. They also served seriously good food from the jungle kitchen!!!

As soon as we got to The Garden Inn, we were greeted warmly by the staff. Made us feel welcome straight away. Rooms are lovely with balcony looking into the jungle. Had a great 2 day 1 night trek in the jungle aswell, with our tour guide Ian. Very informative and was really great with the orangutans we saw in the jungle. All in all a nice guy. Definitely recommend him. Great experience over all
