Had gone there to write a story on "Village Ways". It is indeed inspiring when a hotel wants the local community to benefit the most. Saw that visitors go back with memories of shared life with the local community: their life-struggles, their aspirations, the simple ways in which they contribute to nature and share their stories with the visitors. Almost... More

We spent 10 days in the Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary - a night at each end at Khali Estate, and then 8 days walking from village to village through leafy forests, listening to the birds and surrounded by mountains and the peaks of the Himalayas. Dawn and dusk were exceptionally beautiful and peaceful. Committees from the villages take it in turns... More

We have done 2 holidays organised by Village Ways in the South of India and in the Hinmalayan Foothills. Both have been absolutely fascinating and gave us memories for life. The holidays are based in simple guesthouses which have been built in small villages who act as hosts and cook your meals for you. Guides have been trained to look... More

We trekked between 5remote villages in the Binsar sanctuary. The scenery was stunning, the welcome from the villagers was warm and the food (all cooked on open fires) was the best ever. The guest houses were basic but fitting. Our guides Harri and Hem were great fun and we felt priveleged to share their mountains and their way of life. Everyone... More

This was my retirement present to me - a trip with a view of the Himalayas, as I no longer consider myself fit enough to actually go there. We read about Village Ways in The Guardian and were impressed at how they were revitalising small dying villages - booked direct with them via their website - lots of emails with... More

We trekked with Village Ways in February this year and very much enjoyed the guesthouses in Binsar. The villages are small and accommodations have minimal luxuries but the welcome and care provided to guests is exceptional. The guesthouses are clean and comfortable and the beds warm. Bathrooms are provided with plumbed hot water sometimes, but it is great how clean... More

I was in Binsar and stayed at Khali Resort and Dalar village. The Zero point Walk was an excellent experience. It was very peaceful and neat surroundings. The food at Dalar was good and non spicy. The morning Sunrise from Wilson point was awesome and I along with my clients have nice view of Mountains like Nanda Devi and Trishul.
