Rahul from Kolkata- We stayed for two nights with my family in Hotel Elphinstone in Jalna. It is known to very few but it is an excellent spot. There was mountains and valleys all around us and we spent hours staring at the blue sky and gigantic mountains. The hotel was incredible. The view was beautiful, so was the behaviour of the staffs. Owner Mr.Hitesh(Vicky) had become a friend and his hospitality was excellent. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable. So was the quality of the food.
I have already started recommending this hotel to my friends.
Thanks Mr.Hitesh for all that you have done for us.

its difficult to explain in words but in short as i said above " increadible jalna " & there hospitality is up to the far better level from a brand hotel . we got a VIP treatment in few bugs with a 180 degree view of himalaya from our bed , i expected with a finger crossed as i was unknown with place but being there was getting 200% . beautiful weather + amazing quality of food+the seight seeing + untouched area with a peaceful enviornment ,so can feel that we r on holiday ( seems to me played a bet or gamble for this place & won seeing such a beauty at its best) been suggested be its sister concern hotel nanital.
i will be back soon with my big group

This is Man Mohan from Delhi, i recently went to a Hill station named Jalna with friends, I have been to many Hill Stations before but this this one was completely different as it is an unspoilt destination.The place offers complete tranquility and a perfect getaway from the moribund city life.
The location of the resort was perfect,one could get a complete view of the valley and the Himalayas
The rooms were very good and so was the service.
Looking at it's proximity from Delhi, i would like to visit the place once more and especially take out time of my busy schedule
Cheers

Beautiful property, but that's it. Property has good garden but located far outside of Almora (30km to be precise). Rooms are spacious but old style not very well maintained. Very less staff as don't get many guests I think. No places to visit or eat nearby, completely dependent on hotel staff for everything. I had a kind of spooky experience, not literally 🤪 but property was that lonely.

Pretext ::
I visited this resort in jalna in almora district in the first week of april '14. It all began with shortlisting hotels in almora on the basis of tripadvisor feedback. What caught my attention in case of this resort was the amount of positive feedback and trusting the same I called Mr. Hitesh Shah, the owner of the place to discuss details. Found him to be well spoken and he assured me that he will guide the cab driver that we'd hire from kathgodam station which he did. ( it was important because jalna is still not known to many people )

The long awaited visit !!
On the day of the visit, I got a follow up call from Mr. Hitesh in the morning as to when would we be arriving and other arrangements which I appreciated. From kathgodam it took us four hours including a lunch stopover to reach the destination driving at a reasonable speed.

The place - Jalna !!
The moment you reach there you realise you are right in the lap of nature. All that is in front of you are valleys, hillocks, birds and the mighty Himalayas !! I could visit this place time and again just to gaze at the Nanda Devi, Trishul, Maiktoli n other peaks of the Himalayan range from the comfort of your balcony. The resort is a huge property adjoining the forests that lends it part of the charm. And then there are the birds for the bird lovers. The serenity and tranquility of this place makes you fall in love with it.

The people of Kumaon :)
Mr. Hitesh, as I mentioned earlier was a wonderful host taking care of everything, accompanying us on the nearby trek. Along with him the staff was courteous and responsive and didn't give much reason to complain. The kitchen staff prepared nice and simple food on your request. Also the cab drivers we hired were very polite and had some interesting stories to share which made the long drives very entertaining :)

Places to visit around ::
We visited the Jageshwar temple complex, around 2 hours from jalna which was beautiful. The area surrounding the temple was adorned with mighty deodar trees that inspired awe. While you could also visit binsar, mukteshwar, almora town among other places, we stuck with Jageshwar and almora market area.

Some very small drawbacks :
Since this resort is far from the city area, you have to inform in advance about your food options and they'd try to arrange it given the availability. So people need to be flexible about the food options. I wouldn't call it a drawback exactly but the door fittings are a bit too tight to lock and unlock ( got a cut while unlocking the door as it was too tight ). I'd request the management to fix those. Anyways, both these things won't stop me from visiting the place again.

TLDR;
Great place, mesmerising Kumaon
Himalayan views on a clear day
Wonderful, courteous people
Nice and simple food
Leisure bliss
Worth a visit

Cheers :D

I visited this place in the month of May - June. I stayed in this place for 2 days and 1 night. One the best places to relax with your family. The location is absolutely exquisite with the full panoramic view of the ice laden Himalayan peaks from your room.

The food, cleanliness and the amenities provided were just awesome. Right from the owner of the resort to the house keeping staff are friendly and super jovial. Always there to help you if at all you require anything.

Too bad on our part that we could not extend our stay. One of the best places which i would keep in mind to have a quite, peaceful and exotic holiday.

The rooms are spacious and are very tidy. The resort situated on a hill top offers some of the best views of the serene valleys and enchanting Himalayan peaks.

My Verdict: 10 on 10.

Thank you Hitesh Sah for the amazing time i had with my family.

Love,
Ady

4 families ,8 adults and 4 kids visited this Resort on 28th December. Hiteshbhai the owner greeted us instantly and everything was taken care of. Next morning woke up with Himalayas from the bed, clear and bright.Superb service with personal touch. Ice was hanging from the roof and everywhere within the premises but everything was served hot. We never felt we were not at home.Hot water fire place Tandoori chicken and what not. Advance booking and travelling in a group is the best. Get in touch with HITESHBHAI @+91 9927650346 in order to hit the resort immediately.

This hotel is located at a very isolated, sort of scary place in Almora district, a village called Jalna.

Reaching there was a TASK though, (Poor directions/Google maps), but once you reach there at night, it's silent. Just silent. All you can hear is the manager/owner talking and talking and talking, even when you're eating and trying to have a quiet meal after a long journey.

The rooms were very cosy. Each room had a balcony and a fireplace.

The view from the room in the morning was beautiful. Right in front of you is the valley and beyond that the Himalayas. The first day, for us they were covered by clouds, but the next day, we could see the snow capped mountains!

The hotel gives you an option to have a bonfire at the front porch of the hotel or a fireplace(They charged Rs.400 for the fireplace) in your room. We went with the fireplace and were really glad about that option.

There are good places to trek nearby and to just relax and unwind in the forest.

The food was average. Ordering chicken at this place was a bad option. It was raw and we had a hard time eating it. Rest of the food was okayish though.

All in all, a good experience, would have been better with better food and less intrusive manager.
