I visited Kot Kailash pretty recently, and the experience was out of this world.

The host engages you in many activities, my favourite activity was counting the shooting stars while I enjoyed the warmth of bonfire. The place is situated in a magical place where there is no space for light pollution, noise pollution or any sort of pollution for that matter. It’s a small hamlet called Shaukiathal.

The food especially the local delicacy (Sana hua neebu) tasted magical! The presentation of the food, kaansa thalis, it was just brilliant! The hygiene was top notch.

Special mention to the furry friends, Bhaloo, Julie and Mickey. They are just ADORABLE!

Overall Kot Kailash is not just a stay, it is an experience altogether. I’ll remember the place for a long long time.

I am going to be back real soon.

Kot Kailash, a Kumaoni homestay nestled in the serene hills, offers a tranquil and peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Pushkar Singh Negi, who runs the place, is an excellent host, known for his warm hospitality and attention to detail. His deep knowledge of the local culture and customs adds a unique touch to the experience. He has the ability to create the perfectly balanced trip - including hikes, exploring the local markets and delicious, wholesome meals! The homestay itself is extremely well-kept, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape and a relaxing environment that immediately puts you at ease. It's the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the natural beauty of the region. Pushkar's dedication to making guests feel at home truly elevates the stay, making it an unforgettable experience. 100% recommend.

A traditional kumaoni house located at a serene place. "Kot Kailash" is undoubtedly one of the finest homestays i have ever visited. Our pet Bruno loved this place which actually is very rare Food was delectable specially mutton, kumaoni chicken and local food.. Rooms are pretty cosy and washrooms are clean and hygienic.
Staff is very cooperative and always at your service. Owner Pushkar is gem of a person, well spoken and very intellectual. On your visit to Jageshwar and Vridh Jageshwar, you should definitely stop over at "Kot Kailash".

Above the world and the clouds there is this beautitful and lovingly done Kumaoni homestay which transports you into a different world. Full of peace and serenity, away from the "maddening crowds" and offering you to breathe freely and re-connect with your inner self. The views are spectacular, the rooms cozy and comfortable - with little touches of local culture - and the team Pushkar, Lalit and Chandu looking after you like family. The food is Kumaoni home cooking at its best! And while we never got tired to sit on the terrace and look out to the horizon Pushkar is always there to explain about the locality, take you on hikes and to the many extraordinary temples or just sit with you and reminisce about life. For additional soul support there are the furries Bhaloo, Julie and Mickey. To fully enjoy this enchanting experience, put your phone and gadgets aside (except perhaps for taking photos) and allow your 5 senses to take all in nature has to offer; unfiltered.

Tucked away in the embrace of the Himalayas, Kot Kailash Retreat is a haven of tranquility and charm. The rooms blend modern comfort with traditional accents, offering a cozy retreat after a day of exploration. But it's the breathtaking views of the mountain peaks that steal the show, casting a spell of awe and wonder.

Adding to the hotel's allure are its friendly companions Chotu, Mickey and Julie, whose playful presence adds a touch of homeliness to the mountain retreat. From wagging tails to cheerful chirps, these furry and feathered friends welcome guests with open arms, making them feel like part of a cherished family. With impeccable service and hospitality by Pushkar and his team, Kot Kailash Retreat delivered an unforgettable escape into the heart of nature, leaving us longing to return to its serene embrace.

Situated in a secluded location, near main Jageshwar, Kot Kailash is just the place that you need if you want time away from the hustle and bustle of cities. It gave us a feeling of "Jungle main Mangal", something which my parents kept saying again and again. The property gives you a view of the mighty snow clad Himalayas... And that is not all. The warm welcome and hospitality of all the staff adds to the awesomeness of the experience. For all cleanliness freaks like me, Kot Kailash is the place.. do visit with family and friends and have a pleasant stay at Kot Kailash...

My family (6 adults+2 children) had an exceptional stay at Kot Kailash Retreat. The homestay is nestled between a lovely valley on one side and majestic views of Himalayas on the other. We were lucky to visit in March-2024 with rhododendrons in full bloom. Special mention of the lovely host 'Pushkar', chef Lalit, Chandu and furry friend Bhalu. Pushkar made our stay extra special with his kindness and hospitality. The Kumaoni food served was unbelievably delectable!

It's a lovely location surrounded by nature thanks to a wonderful host. We spent five days with Pushkar ( Host) and his wonderful team, and they were quite gracious to us. I must admit that I underestimated the house, but it exceeded expectations in every way (food, cleanliness, and staff behaviour). Pushkar showed us the lovely walks encircling the property, and Lalit Ji, the chef, reminded us of how delicious homemade food can be.
