What caught my eye most was the uninterrupted & astonishing valley view from our cottage Deodar. It's breathtakingly beautiful in many ways. To be able to see the infinite range, with the various gaon on top, which lit up by night is just picturesque! The night sky brings with it the 'little bear' and other constellations making each night special. The food was finger lickling local cuisine. The meats fresh (on request) and staff/service benevolent. Property interim manager Bhavna took very good care and attended to our every request warmly. Faithful canine friend Chintu kept my 4 year old company throughout. Only thing that was inconvenient was the walk to the property due to construction reasons which should be solved in some months it seem. So we stayed put at the property and enjoyed short treks instead. Goes without saying we ll definitely return, once the car route gets made ofcourse!

PS: since the property is middle of nature be prepared for lots of bugs/ large insects

Dear Arjun_w86, Thank you so much for your insightful review. We are truly humbled by your gracious comments on the property, the service and our teams at Itmenaan Estate. It is our constant endeavour to provide an alternate hospitality and adventure experience to our guests. As you know, Itmenaaan is also an acronym that stands for Relaxation'. All our resort attempts to move away from the regular vacation experience and it is indeed heartwarming to learn that this unique concept is being noticed and applauded by discerning guests. Thank you very much for your suggestions, we have well noted these points and will surely work on them. We hope to welcome you back to Itmenaan Estate and our other properties in the future and in the meantime, do keep in touch via our social media sites on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to stay updated with all our latest news. We spent a week at the three properties of the Itmenaan estate and would highly recommend it. The main Itmenaan property is stunningly located with wide views of snow capped Himalayan mountains with walking possibilities of varying levels of difficulty. The level of hospitality is the best we could hope for with Amit the manager and guide going out of his way to ensure a memorable stay for us despite initial rainy weather. The rest of the staff were proactive and the food consistently fantastic - there was flexibility to cater for our western stomachs less accustomed to highly-spiced dishes which we appreciated. We loved seeing the local village life on our walks and Amit was always attentive when the slopes became more challenging. As birdwatchers we also enjoyed staying at Itmenaan’s Freddy’s Bungalow in Bhimtal. Thank you Amit and staff for matching the amazing setting of Itmenaan with such great service. Adam and Alice (UK)

The name says it all. We felt itmenaan...Sukoon...away from the urban din. The property is breathtaking and the views around are exhilarating. We happened to view magnificent Nanda devi and trishul range and believe me we were so much in awe. The property is thoughtful in taste and every nook and corner will surprise you with natural bounty. The hydrangeas and hibiscus will sooth your senses. The food too was amazing and delicious. The cultural immersion of food was so inspiring. Try their continental food... the staff was amiable and so welcoming. They made our stay every bit comfortable. Special mention to Mr. Amit,(property manager), Bhavna, Shivraj ji and Gobind ji. All were so much invested in making the guests comfortable.
Thank you so much Itmenaan Estate for making our vacation memorable.

Nestled in the Naugaon village of Almora district in Uttarakhand, this 10 acre property with just three cottages is an excellent getaway for mountain lovers. Tucked away in the hill, a 20 minute downhill walk through a winding, and occasional steep, hilly road, you will reach a place that's worth your journey. A quite, serene space to watch, not only snow-capped Himalayan Ranges (Trishul, Nanda Devi & Nandakut), but many varieties of native Himalayan birds and opportunity to gaze night sky. If you love to trek, you would get experienced local guide to accompany you through your venture. Of course, you need to be ready to go through some challenging routes, if you are not accustomed to such paths.
We did get few days of clear views. Even partly cloudy views were nice, as long as the mountains were not fully covered. Early morning, as the sun rises, mountains take a silvery hue and turns golden at sunset. Many colorful butterflies keep your company throughout the day, along with beautiful and ornamental long tailed flycatcher, or Magpies etc.
In the evening, you may find yourself among the stars and planets and the Milkyway. If you want to warm you up, you may enjoy sitting next to a bonfire, just absorbing the ambience, while sipping your favourite drink or just be with your companion!

We had actually booked another property nearby, which turned out to be really bad. Fortunately Itmenaan estate was very close by and thankfully they had rooms available - so glad we ended up here! Loved our stay at Itmenaan Estate!

The rooms are big, spacious, clean and have all the necessities. The property is big enough that you can roam around but not so big that it takes forever to reach common areas. The food was fantastic, we ended up eating Indian food at all meals, cause we loved it! If you're here, you should try local Kumaoni dishes! They simple but so tasty! And the best part was the staff! Everyone we met at Itmenaan was genuine, nice and always ready to help and serve you with a smile! Special thanks to Amit ji, who manages the property really well! We felt very well taken care! Also thanks to Bhawana, Shivrajji, Bhopal, and Gopalji!

And oh, this is a pet friendly place! Unfortunately due to the weather we couldn't see the Himalayas but am sure the views would be fantastic in the right weather. So definitely coming back again to Itmenaan! Cheers!

Most amazing stay i ever had. Excellent staff. Special thanks to Ms. Bhawna, Mr. Amit, Mr. Shiv for their hospitality. Amazing food and the best part is that unlike other properties they dont promote food wastage which i personally liked. With little resources, they try to give you the best experience. They even orgnaized an amazing luch at the hill top with a spectacular view. The best part pf this propoerty is its secluded location and silence. Itmenan indeed!

This place was an amazingly beautiful and comfortable stay. The food was excellent and curated to our taste. The stone cottages have a lovely view of the Himalayan peaks of Uttarakhand. The staff are genuinely helpful - they guided and accompanied us on treks and also helped our 4 year old son climb up the mountains. When my son was tired , the guide Shivraj effortlessly carried him up the mountains! Come here if you are looking for great views, amazing hospitality and delicious food!

It’s rare that one can say, “they really got that right”! Tucked into the hillside a score of miles away from Jageshwar, you drive 3 klicks through a rough unmade road and then climb down from the car park to the Estate. Roses of all hues in clusters welcome you. The chefs are excellent and the service superlative, goaded on by Amit K the GM. A sharp shower and the Nanda Devi showed herself, almost to reward you. With every last detail looked after and the delightful interiors done by the promoter's wife, it was really special. Thanks!

What stands out for Itmenaan is the genuine care and attention by each member of the staff. A friend and I stayed at the property for 6 nights in July 2021. There are a total of 5 rooms, all well maintained and clean. The staff is warm and friendly, customising all experiences as per your need. There is a 20 min downhill hike to reach the property and the approach road is in construction. This was a bit of a dampener, as it meant hiking uphill for almost 40 min everytime you want to step out.
Overall a totally calming and beautiful experience, away from the hustle. Do try the many hikes in and around the property - the waterfall one was a stand out for us.

The rooms and the cottage have been painstakingly built in the local stone architecture style. about a 20 min hike from the road. The walk is ok, just the uneven stones make it a bit difficult, you might have to keep your eyes on the track so you dont twist an ankle ( then youll have a problem ). Ask for a room in the building closest to the dining area so you dont have to walk down a path for meals. Pretty place...give it a shot.

Hi.Group of 12 is large for this small resort. Except for the suite, the other rooms are rather small. You have to be physically fit to reach the resort.Besides there is only a small village nearby. So if you want to eat gluten free food, it would be best to call and ask the resort their culinary skills.
