Detailed Reviews
Our stay at Itmenaan Estate was off two nights. A hike down to the property lasting about 25 minutes downhill was followed by a warm welcome from the great staff at the property.
A secluded place which was filled with amazing views and fortunately great weather. We stayed in two separate cottages while one cottage was slightly off putting due to insects, the other one was extremely comfortable.
What made our stay memorable was the staff. From the manager to our guide for the treks every person was kind, humble and helpful. It made our experience worth it. Special mention to the guide who was the most amazing person.
Overall a good experience, fouled by insects, however I certainly recommend a visit to this property.

We were looking for a place to work from home for a week and then we found Itmenaan. Right from the booking till our descent back home, the entire experience was awesome. Nousha, our online booking support helped us at every step cordially, she provided all the right & accurate information and made our booking experience flawless. On our way to estate & through out our stay we were very well received, guided & managed effortlessly by Bhavna, she was always there at any point in time and helped us resolve every slightest of an issue also that we may have encountered. The staff - Shivraj, Govind, cook - Ramesh and all other behind the scene made our experience very very special. Their hospitality is better than many of the established chain of 5 stars. I have no words for the staff & local care taker of Itmenaan. Its an awesome place but the stay is made special by the homely, caring & well trained staff.
I am sure it is a reflection of the estate owner that reflects in their team.
All the bets Itmenaan. Hope to come again soon!

So I just visited Itmenaan estate in the Almora region and it was one of the best stays I’ve ever had. Best thing about the place was the the view, the hospitality , the food! Everything was perfect. Earlier when we reached we were really tired and didn’t want to trek.. but I must say when we woke up in the morning and saw the property it was mesmerising. What a view💯💯💯 . We lost our charger while trekking but the staff searched for it and returned it immediately.. really kind of them! Also the quality of the food was really good.. the menu was limited but whatever we ordered was finger licking good. I also forgot my dslr’s sd card. I had no idea I forgot it but they called me immediately and informed me and are mailing it to me. I don’t remember the name of the staff person who took us trekking to the waterfall but he was really kind and humble. It was a really nice stay and I felt at home! Thank you!

It has been our absolute pleasure & delight to spend time at both Itmenaan Estates & Freddys Bungalow.
Our guide/host Amit & all staff went above & beyond to welcome us, make us feel at home & give us a truly memorable experience.
We chose to eat the local Kumanoi food which was delicious & so plentiful !!
Accommodation was wonderful, with unique historical styles.
So much to do & see. We asked to go birdwatching & our host arranged this for us.
We were taken to local village homes & drank chai with local folk which was a very special time for us. Thank you so much for helping us to experience your beautiful areas of Binsar & Bhimtal.

Without doubt one of the favourite Estate, I stayed during my time in Uttarakhand! Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the staff and manager. The staff was extremely friendly, the restaurant very flexible (appreciate this!) and the restaurant supervisor deserves a special thanks. We had two great evenings here, which obviously also added up to the experience.
The majestic view of Himalaya especially the peaks (Nand kot and Nand khat) from rooms was so mesmerizing.
The second day we did a village trekking which was guided by Amit, who works as a manager in the hotel as well. Amit is such a warm personality, highly motivated and enthusiast person I have ever seen. I truly enjoyed walking the three of us through the village. The scenery was beautiful, and it was a relieve to walk in such a quiet and peaceful environment.
Note, this is not a 4/5-star hotel or so, but the atmosphere is so special that it really felt like home to me. All respect for the manager who does a great job here, a true sample of excellent hospitality!
Staying in Itminan Estate is such a divine experience that can only be sensed, words are too small to describe.
The sky, adorned with stars and sun
The world, full of so many lives
Within this glorious vast expanse
Here I am, with a place to be, a role to play
I am amazed and wondering,
I see my song find itself here…

It is the most amazing experience we ever had. This place is extremely beautiful, quite and located in kumaon himalayas. The property, food and hospitality were just astonishing. The himalayas view from the window is simply awesome. The food has variety and each and everything was finger licking. Property manager Amit took very good care and attended to every request. What differentiate Itmenaan from others is the genuine care and attention of each staff member, their hospitality was beyond words. Totally, calm and quite with best experience away from the daily hustle of life.
If you want to relax and rejuvenate in nature's lap, this is the place.

We had an incredible stay at Itmenaan in November. The property is beautiful - very classily done and yet rustic, with traditional architecture and beautiful flowering plants/trees throughout. I had some food allergies, which the staff did accommodate too. Food was good overall.
A special shout out to the excellent level of service, led by Mr Amit Kandpal, the GM. All the staff went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable and our needs were taken care of. They were all extremely polite, hospitable, and friendly at all times. A
big thank you to all of them.
Some special memories include the bonfire they would light outside of our room every evening as the sun set, before dinner. This was their suggestion - and they also suggested serving us our soup/a hot drink right there too as we stared at the mountains.
The location is a bit out of the way, as are many of the wonderful places in Kumaon, but I couldn't recommend staying here more if you are in the area. Also make sure to visit Jageshwar Dham, which is very nearby!

We went there during May 2023 . It was really an awesome experience. The name justifies the place . Exceptionally beautiful resort in a quiet serene nature . Staffs were all very hospitable. Mr Shivraj , Mr Govind , Mr Bhim were very caring . Ms Bhavna , resort manager looked after every minute details of hospitality. Food was truly mouthwatering and delicious. One day we had a nice picnic lunch in nearby mountain forest . We had a guided hiking tour arranged by Itmenaan Estate to a nearby waterfall and village too . We enjoyed our 5 nights stay thoroughly .

My wife and I spent 3 nights at Itmenaan Estate staying in Deodar cottage which has amazing views (when clear) over to Nanda Devi and surrounding mountains. Deodar is made from local dry stacked stone for a rustic yet still luxurious place to stay. The craftsmanship is amazing and we had a wonderful time.
Yet the most impressive part of our stay was the service from Amit and his team. We had come a long way from Australia and had stayed in some nice 5 star hotels along the way but all of them could learn a lesson from the staff at Itmenaan. They are always smiling and nothing is too much trouble. From bringing a cup of tea in bed in the morning, to guiding us on hikes through the area, to packing and serving picnic lunches or serving delicious meals, everything was done to a high level and with a smile.
It is in a remote region and takes a bit of effort to get there but I highly recommend you give it a try!

Hi...thanks for your message and interest in Itmenaan Estate.
The estate offers three luxurious, well-appointed rooms and two standalone cottages. The rooms and the cottage have been painstakingly built in the local stone architecture style.
We can accommodate total 3 adults in each room with an extra bed,
Please let us know if you need any other information.

about a 20 min hike from the road. The walk is ok, just the uneven stones make it a bit difficult, you might have to keep your eyes on the track so you dont twist an ankle ( then youll have a problem ). Ask for a room in the building closest to the dining area so you dont have to walk down a path for meals. Pretty place...give it a shot.
Hi.Group of 12 is large for this small resort. Except for the suite, the other rooms are rather small. You have to be physically fit to reach the resort.Besides there is only a small village nearby. So if you want to eat gluten free food, it would be best to call and ask the resort their culinary skills.
Hi Pranab, Thanks for your message. Yes, we do have electricity and electricity back up. We do not have TVs in the rooms but have a TV in our beautiful lounge.
