We spent a week at the three properties of the Itmenaan estate and would highly recommend it. The main Itmenaan property is stunningly located with wide views of snow capped Himalayan mountains with walking possibilities of varying levels of difficulty. The level of hospitality is the best we could hope for with Amit the manager and guide going out of his way to ensure a memorable stay for us despite initial rainy weather. The rest of the staff were proactive and the food consistently fantastic - there was flexibility to cater for our western stomachs less accustomed to highly-spiced dishes which we appreciated. We loved seeing the local village life on our walks and Amit was always attentive when the slopes became more challenging. As birdwatchers we also enjoyed staying at…

Amazing time spent at Itmenaan, Almora. Very thoughtfully curated place. Food and service were top notch. Amit the manager was very hospitable and courteous. They arranged for a trek to waterfall and a picnic lunch as well.
We have stayed in all kind of hotels, Homestays, lodges, hostels. Our profession is exciting and keeps us travelling and so we have experienced many kinds of service and infrastructure. But Itmenaan estate has been the BEST SERVICE I HAVE EVER SEEN! Each person of the staff are 100% dedicated to making your stay pleasureable and we were full of gratitude each and every. They cooked our meals with so much love, catered to our every fancy without the slightest hesitation. They were so accommodating of our large and noisy group and went the extra length to give us the best experience! They even sent us back with souvenirs l, rhododendron flower juice bottles as our welcome drink which I loved the first day. They thoughtfully sent me back with bottles. If you ever get a chance to…
The staff is Amicable and friendly ,ready to run errands, get your food from the kitchen which is way down.Add to this the services of the pleasant and efficient Amit Kandpal, the perfect host…he adds to the charm of the place, the place itself is surrounded by an ethereal beauty.Choose the cottages, the rooms are built in the Kumaon style, the bathrooms squeaking clean, the food tasty and served with a generous amount of love and smiles. The only downside? The kachcha road leading to the property.Take this into account when coming here with the elderly.
we stayed with them for 2 days and enjoyed it fully. pros- room- room and washroom are spacious. would recommed staying in pine cottage 1 for best views views- they have very beautiful mountain view from room, dinning area and outside room food- they make amazing kumoani kadhi, dal makhani, biryani. food was very good. they make fresh and as per everyones need. they serve fresh fruits and juice first thing in the breakfast. experieneces- you can try dinner under the stars. it is one of the experiences and they take you to a beautiful waterfall which is around 1.5Km by trecking. trecking level is moderate. they will serve medetarian food ( pita bread, hummus, salads, pasta) which is yummy. it is one of the best experiences we had so fall. having food right next to waterfall.…
Nestled in the Lap of virgin hills with beauty of nature a wonderfully MANAGED estate by mr. Amit the manager there. Plus - it’s away from the hustle bustle of crowd and construction, truly in the lap of nature. The cottages and rooms are beautifully done with lots of greenery around and the washrooms are amazing.. very luxurious and tastefully done. Biggest thumbs up is the staff, I cannot emphysema enough on how warm hospitable courteous the staff was. Right from Mr. Amit to Ms. bhawna to Shivraj ji. Excellent service. They really treat guest like God. Minus- the property is well managed but not well developed. It’s not senior citizen friendly, to reach to the property you have to first take the car on a risky kaccha raasta and from there a downhill/uphill 5 mins walk. …
We visited Itmenan Estate in the month of June this year. Stayed at the property for 3 nights and regretted as to why only for 3 nights ! The property is excellent in every aspect. From the ever smiling, ever helpful, courteous staff to all the amenities and special mention to the food. The staff is headed by the Operations Head Mr. Amit who stays in the property itself, along with other staff members like Ms, Bhavna, Mr. Rautela, Mr. Khim Singh to name a few. They made our stay memorable in every way. Even the food that they served lovingly made us feel as if we are their guests. The balance between absolute professionalism with a personal touch makes them outstanding. Special mention to the chef who is well versed with North Indian and Continental food and both were…
If you want to hear the rustling of the trees and the constant chirping of birds and cicadas, want to give yourself to nature completely, this is The Place to be. The rooms are basic and super clean. No television, no clocks. Food is delectable, desserts are to be craved for. I looked forward to every meal. The team at Itmenaan was wonderfully supportive. Shivaraj ji was there every morning at 5.15am with the bed tea. If was pure bliss for me. We went to the water falls with Uday Singhji. Thank you uncle for the beautiful time there. Most pleasing Bhavana who took us to the village thru the woods. Thanks for your patience and some insights on Munsiari,Bhavana. Will be def visiting Munsiari. The Chef's who turned out the most amazing meals at short notice too. And of…
We stayed ar Itmenaan Estate this month and to say we have an amazing time would be an understatement. Mr. Amit the estate manager is a gem of a person who makes this place what it is, very well spoken, takes your word to his heart and leaves no stone unturned to make you comfortable. The staff is very well trained and the food is simply out of the world. They specialise food everyday, and you can ask whatever your heart desires, be it italian, chinese, Mediterranean, whatever it is. The local Kumaoni food is a must try. If you wish to explore, Amit arranges a meal in the nearby village in one of the villager’s own home, its an experience you must have. This place is for someone who just needs to wind down, read a book, soak the sun and enjoy the wind, coz you really need to be…
