Where better to escape and recharge during the time of Covid -19?
This location is the perfect retreat from the anxieties of the modern world, where you can unwind and enjoy the healing benefits of the natural world.
Surrounded by stunning scenery and abundant wildlife it is possible to submerse yourself in a place the world has not touched. The views are mesmerising and there is a heady fragrance of flowers and the surrounding cedar and pine forests.
The property has been constructed in traditional style offering a real chance to experience an authentic insight into life in the hills with a few luxuries thrown in such as piping hot water and bed tea.
The food again, reflects the local age old traditions and is a delicious culinary adventure. This is served either in the dinning room or outside in your own private dining area overlooking the mountains.
The staff also add to your stay and are discreet but warm and attentive.
The overall effect is very much of coming home and it is very difficult to leave.

I came across Itmenaan Estate while
Googling farm stays in Punjab. While we couldnt visit there, we finally decided to go to mountains amidst this chaotic covid times to find some peace and quiet. And we were pleased we took this decision. The booking was done with Nusha who was patient enough to answers all my queries timely. The time from gurgaon to the place took us 12 hours. Recommended to take a break in between ( Freddy cottage - another Itmenaan property in Bhimtal) is a good option. We drove straight up and reached the place well after dark which isnt too much recommended as there is a walk to reach the estate. The walk isnt too long but ita downhill and better to enjoy the view during the day.
Once we reached the estate we dint wanna cole back. The place is beautiful. The view of the himalayan range is absolutely fabulous. The staff is always ready to serve you. Food is fantastic. Absolutely one of the best hospitality experienced by us. Amit- the Property manager ensured all our requests are met and is personally available to address any of your concerns. The staff is absolutely fantastic. They know what you want and is always ready to serve you with a smile. They are super friendly and they make you feel at home. We had super fun during our 8 days break with our kid ( toddler) and a dog. We took deodar cottage which has a bedroom and a second day room or can be used as a kids room or second room. It has a private sitout area and lots of personal space. There are lots of treks Available and staff is always ready to take you there.
High speed dongles are kept in the estate for guests to use. Internet works fine for WFH.
Sipping morning tea while looking at snow laden mountains and closing your night with A bornfire and delicious dinner made us love this break. The staff ensured that we get what we want and dont forget to have a local
Cuisine dinner which is prepared by the estate’s chef.
We had a fabulous stay and would highly recommend this to anyone who wants a break from city life with five star facilities.
Thanks team itemaan for making our stay so amazing. Thanks team Amit. Cant wait to come back!!!

my friend chose this place for its seclusion and amazing views and we were more than happy when we got there.

we came by car and came by 9 pm it is a steep walk down almost 750 meters I think through rocky terrain so it is not for the unfit. we have 3 staff from the estate there to help us and if we knew we the walk down was so much we would have packed lightly and left what we dont need in the car we felt sorry for the guys to pick so much luggage and bring it down and back up when we left. so pls be kind and pack lightly.

we reached and were greeted by a warm and welcoming staff who were very attentive to our needs all through the stay.

we took two cottages one was a larger one with 2 levels which should have been connected from within but unfortunately had separate entrances from outside and the other was a single level cottage. both had comfortable beds and stunning views. I would suggest the estate to provide electric heated bed covers as the heaters in the cottage are not powerful enough.

next morning we had wonderful breakfast and went for a trek down to the valley to a waterfall accompanied by udaysinghji it was a long trek and a steep climb but worth every step we took. the waterfall was small but beautiful the kids had a wonderful time.

there is a large lounge where u can have your meals or we preferred sitting in the open area which had stunning views for all our meals. we used the same area to play board games and read books too.

the food was simply amazing and staff would go out of our way to attend to our needs. amit the manager was patient all the way through the trip.

we had evening bonfires everyday.

there are 3 connected cottages too other than the 2 we booked I felt our choice of standalone cottages was a much better choice.

next day we went to another trek which was 3km by car and saw some old desolated vacant huts and had some fruits and juice with us so had a mini picnic

overall the stay was simply amazing with stunning views and amazing service.

would like the rooms to be little more warmer and also the geysers do not hold enough hot water for a family of 3 or 4 to shower.

Situated in a remote location, with mesmerising views of the Nanda Devi and Trishul ranges, this property and their top notch hospitality will make you feel like royalty.

Their hospitality surpasses any five star property by miles and this is no exaggeration. We stayed for four nights and never was I ever greeted by anything but a genuine smile.

We had the most amazing time ever. We stayed at the Pine cottage. The room and the washroom are thoughtfully made, the heater and other amenities are top notch.

We spend the evening staring at the skies with lots of stars and shooting stars by the bonfire on the sit out area.

The food too was consistently good, the grilled chicken, the mutton, the local dishes were sumptuous.

I can go on and on about how wonderful this place is and also their property at Thikalna where we stayed for a night.

My heartfelt thank you to Amit, their manager, Govindji and all their staff for taking care of us and also our dogs.
This is a must visit place and we will definitely visit again.

Stayed at this place for four nights in the first week of July. We were a large group (with ages ranging from 3 to 50 years) and had taken all the five rooms that are available here.If you are a single family with kids the take the Deodhar cottage as it has a separate sitting room where the kids can play and relax.
As the name suggests there is a lot of peace an quiet here, the views are simply amazing and so is the food. The staff is very courteous and attentive especially Bhawna who made our stay very memorable. My little four year old fell in love with her dog Shintu and still remembers him even today. The rooms are neat and clean and are a bit on the rustic side as is expected at places like these. There are a lot of places to trek nearby provided you are reasonably fit. Even if you're not trekking you can just relax at the property like a lot of people in our group did. The only thing that is there at this property is that you have to trek down a steep mountain path around 750 metres while coming to and going from the property . While the staff carries all your luggage you still have to be reasonably fit to do it as i have mentioned earlier. But having said that we had a lot of fun doing it and all our group including the kids were able o do it in 30 - 40 minutes.
All in all I would definitely love to visit this place again and would recommend this property to everyone who wants a little peace ,quiet and also a little adventure along with fabulous views and excellent food.

We stayed at Itmenaan Estate through Unhotel for 3 nights. Shalini from Unhotel was very helpful with helping us plan our visit and gave us all the required details beforehand. They made a real effort to ensure that we got a great deal. The property is in an extremely scenic location and is very well-equipped and maintained superbly by a great team of friendly staff. The team led by Amit, went out of their way everyday to make our stay a memorable one. In fact, I had requested for an anniversary surprise for my husband and they really outdid themselves with decorations and food. The food was spectacular and we were left feeling full in our heart and tummies everyday!

We had chosen to stay at Itmenaan Estate for five nights but ended up staying at Fredy's - their other property in the mountains - on the first night since our arrival from Delhi was delayed.

Amit and Bhavana made fantastic efforts to ensure our trip was comfortable.

The staff is very friendly and helped us navigate the steep terrain during our approach and departure from the site, and even during the trek to a waterfall.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking to get away from the city and all the noise that comes with it. It's quite a drive from Delhi - but totally worth it!

We booked this place to take a break from the city madness during Covid lockdown.
This place delivered at all our expectations, The property is set in the middle of nowhere near Jageshwar Temple, a 10hour drive from Delhi.
A 15mins moderate trek downhill from the main road takes you to well made, stone n granite style cottages. The thing that sets this place apart from similar properties is the excellent service by their local staff. A special mention to Govind Ji, Chacha, Maali bhaiya and Ms. Bhawna, they really know how to take care of the guests.
Food was also above our expectations, really appreciate the efforts of chef to personalise our meals according to our mood for the day.
Our only regret is that we stayed for just 4 days and the mega spiders in our rooms.
Would like to visit again.

My wife and I stayed at Itmenaan, Chalnichinna for 4 nights and it's been the most delightful and amazing experience. The beautiful and captivating property and the surrounding Himalayan view just uplifts your soul. You can hear a calming and soothing silence here.

The staff and kitchen defined hospitality and went beyond throughout our stay. The amazing food, most welcoming and accomodating nature of all the staff made it a truly delightful experience. Special thanks to Govindji he made us feel truly at home and conjured up any special requests like a charm!

Please do let them know if you are fond of dogs, then they let them roam free around the property and do say hello to Jojo from us, he spent most of his time in our room!

We stayed at more aggressively advertised "luxurious" (but totally lacking in hospitality) properties around the hills in Uttarakhand too and we checked out in less than a day, they come nowhere close to the beauty of Itmenaan nor in the welcome, warmth and hospitality of this fine place.

Recommended room: Deodar Cottage!

about a 20 min hike from the road. The walk is ok, just the uneven stones make it a bit difficult, you might have to keep your eyes on the track so you dont twist an ankle ( then youll have a problem ). Ask for a room in the building closest to the dining area so you dont have to walk down a path for meals. Pretty place...give it a shot.

Hi.Group of 12 is large for this small resort. Except for the suite, the other rooms are rather small. You have to be physically fit to reach the resort.Besides there is only a small village nearby. So if you want to eat gluten free food, it would be best to call and ask the resort their culinary skills.
