We absolutely loved this place! Great tiger sightings and the hotel offered excellent accommodations with impeccable service, top notch food and beautiful decor. Some things I really loved were the bath awaiting after the evening safari, the staff welcoming us in the driveway, and the different locations of dinner around the property. I would stay here again or at any Taj property - wonderful experience!
Superb place, beautifully done up, extremely clean, the staff makes sure your room and your ambience in never kept unattended, that was something I have never ever experienced, any time u leave the room, when u come back, the room is done up as good as new, it’s like a fairy who comes and does magic with her magic wand. The chef takes special care of our meals asking us our preference for each meal, it’s almost like a personal butler or chef making food specially for us.... food is good, place is good, safari experience is good.... nothing to pin point.... special thanx to Mr. Amit Singhvi who took care of our bookings and even arranged private safaris at the last minute for us..... and we got to enjoy 2 private safaris and one shared..... all thanx to him.... and plz do look out for Bhola bhaiya..he kept us entertained in our entire trip and took care of us very well..... thank u Bhola Bhiaya and he’s the one always with a big smile fulfilling all our demands..... even the naturalist Mr. Harsh and Mr. Karun were very good and thanx to them We saw 8 tigers in our 3 safaris and we had a beautiful sighting of a tigress and her cubs with Mr. Harsh.... over all I must say it was a wonderful 5 star experience....totally worth it👍🏻😊🙏🏻…
Nestled in the raw jungles of Bandhavgarh National Park, Taj Mahua Kothi provides a unique nature experience that you can never forget. Each cottage is decorated with village theme and with amazing artifacts that gives every cottage a royal look from inside. There is a verandah outside every cottage that you can enjoy early morning or in the evening. It is a resort surrounded by trees and grass with amazing bird life. You wake up to hear the chirping of the birds. You get your morning tea and coffee delivered to your cottage. The food is absolutely delicious and served so many times in the day (of your choice) that you get spoiled! The staff are courteous, friendly and helpful all the time. The service standard is simply superb. There is no wifi or TV in the room that compels you to integrate with nature. Mobile usually works in the resort that helps you to keep in touch with outside world. There is a swimming pool that you can use as a family to refresh, particularly when it is hot. The main activity is jungle safari that you can take multiple times through different entrances and there is a night safari too. We saw tigers twice during our safaris, but were thrilled to see diversity of animals, vast jungles with mountains in the background. The safaris are long (almost 4 hours in the morning and 2.5 hours in the afternoon), but you will always want more of the safaris. I have done safaris in several other places in India, but Taj Mahua Kothi will remain entrenched in my memory for ever for the quality of cottage, top class service, delicious food and the natural environment that it provides to give you a real break from our busy life.…
The hospitality was amazing. All the chefs, Mr Amit and our butler-Mr. Rajkumar took special care. We had an 11-year-old kid with us, and he loved the overall experience at the lodge. We also availed of Spa facilities, and this was also very good.
I read about it.....I was super excited. I reached it.....I was kind of disappointed. I stayed here.....I was delighted. So I would start with my most controversial statement first. Yes, I indeed was disappointed in first 15 minutes. Why? Because of these reasons - 1. The resort is built in a small area, though the overall area is large. 2. No wi-fi in rooms. 3. No TVs. 4. No coffee / tea maker in room. 5. Large courtyard, relatively small room and bathroom. 6. Set-menu dining. However, within a few hours I realized that all of the above reasons were totally justified and well thought-out plan. In a true Taj style, this was a curated experience to ensure our connectivity to the forest rather than technology! Great…. To begin my slew of compliments, I must first compliment the service staff at Taj. Starting with Amit - Resort Manager to Mukhesh Ji – Chef to Munshi, Bhola – Butlers to Rajkishore Ji – Naturalist….everyone was impeccable at their respective jobs. The overall environment was very warm and homely which is a great thing after you come back from multiple safari drives daily. This gets me to my next misguided critic about the set-menu. In reality the set-menu is perfect because in the evenings you just want to relax, chit-chat with other guests at the hotel and have a good time instead of having to think about what to order etc. Infact, I must add that the guest can always request the chef to cook whatever they’d want to have for the next meal. The rooms / cottages too have a minimalistic footprint which is healthy for the jungle around. The rooms are a little bit small but well done with all elements trying their best to give you the feeling of being in a village (albeit a super luxurious one). Overall, a fantastic experience. I am now dead-sure I will visit other Taj Safari properties sooner rather than later.…
Quaint cottages in a forest setting. Impeccable service and food. Naturalist guided wildlife visits in jeeps. all of this awaits you at Mahua kothi. We were rewarded by much more than we expected. I am compelled to name the best. Mukesh the chef, Bhola the butler just for us and a Naturalist who enjoyed educating our eyes, ears and senses, to the best in Nature. Only negative is the 4-5 hour drive from the closest airport at Jabalpur.
Overall experience at Mahua Kothi was fantastic. Chef Mukesh and Ram Kumar were exceptional serving wonderful food everyday with care. We had two young kids and everyone took great care. Managers Amit and Ajay were super helpful too. We look forward to re-visiting shortly.
Truly unique. No better place to stay in Bandhavgarh. Hospitality and food was great. Ambience was perfect. Service was top class. The whole team led by Amit were fabulous. Safaris organised by Taj was well thought out.
Excellent place. Staff was very good and helpful. Food was good . Dinner at different outdoor places was unique. Heating in the room was a bit tricky but housekeeping staff was helpful . Food was good. Breakfast was on the Safari but quite nice
The day we left Mahua Kothi, many staffers asked me to review them on Trip Advisor. This was also the day when I saw the last part of a movie called Ratatouille. In it, the food critic Gustav writes “ In many ways, the work of a critic is easy. We risk very little, yet enjoy a position over those who offer up their work and their selves to our judgment”. What do I say? Do I talk about Karun the naturalist with his genial smile and made sure that we saw, appreciated and enjoyed every inch of the magnificent jungle? Or the smiling Mr Amit Singhvi who made sure we had everything we needed and more? Or the other Amit who magnificently organized everything? Or chef Mukesh and his team who cooked food so close to home including the lip smacking jungle breakfast on the car bonnet? Or made sure to pack sandwiches for our return journey? Or the staff who laid out a warm water bath with divine smelling salts on the last day? My special praise is however reserved for Munshi ji who served us our meals. I cannot think of another person in my life who has served love in lieu of food. Mahua Kothi is paradise nestling in Bandhavgarh. Go there to get a slice of heaven.…
