Stayed between 15-18th June 2022 and here is our experience 1. Boutique luxury : I would rate this very high in terms of personalised luxury . The way food is served like fine dining , high quality coffee , French press in room , quality of cottage . Similar to what we experienced in internal countries . This isn’t mass luxury but very exquisite. Would rate it even better than Taj on lot of aspects 2. Staff : unbelievably efficient staff . They are there to make everything happen anytime . Be it double shot cappuccino at 7 am or packing breakfast for early morning safari 3. Food : this stands out . They don’t have mass buffet like many other luxury hotels but a very unique fine dining type multi course menu . Their chef makes amazing pasta and even does magic with Indian food 4 . Wildlife and sustainability: Management is quite sincere about this . They have an organic garden and discourages use of plastic Overall this place is outstanding…
Excellent service given by kings lodge Bandhavgarh and we had seen tiger two times during safari trip by Raju ji and Ramesh Ji Food was so delicious and room services were excellent. Thanks to everyone specially team leader Mr Mukharjee. Narendra singh
Wonderful experience with King's Lodge and Pugdundee Safaris. It was smooth and easy from the beginning to the end! Due to certain unfortunate circumstances we had to reschedule our trip and safari dates. It was an absolutely no questions asked and hassle free experience, with the help of Mr. Pankaj from Gurgaon. The gates recommended by him were 100% eventful (14 sightings in a day). It was a memorable trip thanks to all the staff and especially Mr. Amit Mukherjee for the seamless coordination and execution. We had booked the pick up and drop from Jabalpur with them. The vehicles were in excellent condition, the drivers were very cooperative and polite. Expect a warm warm welcome and reception on arrival. The rooms have a beautiful ambience. The staff is very soft spoken and compliant. Excellent service and thoughtfulness is an add on. Right from providing bottles of chilled water and the most refreshing nimbu paani on the safari jeeps to the packed sandwiches on the way back to the airport - it all touched just the right chords. Their in house vegetables and butterflies garden is very well maintained by the maali Shyamlal. The food is delicious and served with so much affection, don't forget to count a few extra kilos by the time you are back home. The rooms are cleaned and done twice a day. All provisions are replaced from time to time. Wildlife documentaries broadcasting happens in the common TV room in the evening. *We had a medical emergency at 2 am and they arranged for a jeep to a visit to their in house Dr, it was sorted and taken care of promptly and appropriately. Highly appreciated!* IMPECCABLE Definitely going back. Surely visiting their other properties!!!!…
We had a great stay at this beautiful resort tucked away deep inside pristine forests. The construction is with local materials and exquisitely hand crafted by local artisans. The cottages are extremely comfortable and very well designed. The cuisine and service is excellent. The resort operations are based on sustainability principles, including use of consumables, solar energy and recycling. Every need is taken care of by the very attentive staff. Mr. Mukherjee, the General Manager, leads a talented team, and he also regaled us with stories of bird and animal experiences from around the property, including a family of jungle cats!
We stayed here in mid May 2022. We were met by the Director who is a charming and professional leader who runs an impressive set up. Our guide for the 3 days we were here was the very informative Praktik, who is particularly good on bird life. The rest of the staff were excellent and the food was amazing. Over our 5 safaris we visited several zones in Bandhavghar and saw 8 tigers and two leopards, and the views were excellent. It does get a bit busy when a tiger is spotted as all the jeeps descend on the area, although where we were there that only meant about 15 jeeps in total. The local guides who are government employed and who ride with you on each trip (in addition to the Kings Lodge naturalist) are of varying quality/skills and mostly don’t speak much English. Would definitely recommend a stay here.…
We have been to several wildlife resorts in India and abroad, and this certainly rates as among the best. The location is fantastic; all the entry gates are not more than 30 minutes drive. Accommodation is in well-appointed cottages designed to suit the locale with decor of tribal artworks. The management led by Amit Mukherjee, supported by Omkar and Prateek, are professionals as well as wildlife enthusiasts, a combination that is so necessary for such destinations, The attention showered on us by the staff (all local) was unbelievable: from a warm welcome on arrival to packed sandwiches for our return journey and everything in-between!. The rooms were serviced every time we left for a safari or went for a meal; towels were changed, beds were made or straightened, and water was refilled. The AC was switched on before we returned from our safaris to ensure we came back to a cool room.. Food was wholesome and homely. We sampled Indian fare including a local 'thali", but judging by the quality of the continental deserts and bakery items, we can venture to state that the western fare would be very good too. Last but not the least, the resort provides their own vehicle and naturalist. In our case it was Raju who was not only informative but had a passion to show us as many tigers as we could. Indeed, we were rewarded with sightings on each of our safaris. This resort is highly recommended and we look forward to our visit to another Pugdundee property in Kanha in June. One last tip: if not using your own car or self-drive rentals, please use the hotel cars for transportation to and from the airport: their vehicles and drivers are excellent.…
We stayed here for 4 nights at the start of May and were very satisfied with all aspects of our stay. The lodge is unquestionably top-notch in every way. Rooms are large and comfortable and contain everything that a traveler might need and more, including ample electrical ports, coffee-maker with coffee powder, and very decent in-room wi-fi. We appreciated very much the absence of single-use plastics: water was provided in vacuum flasks and would be speedily re-filled on request, toiletries were in refillable glass bottles, and we were given complimentary metal water bottles at the start of our stay. The staff were all warm and friendly and the service was immaculate throughout. The food was very good. Almost every evening in the common area there would be showing a wildlife documentary on Bandhavgarh national park, with popcorn and starters served, which was a pleasant option to have. A unique highlight is that there is an artist who paints in the souvenir shop most days - his paintings of Bandhavgarh's tigers are beautiful (they can be bought in the shop) and it was a privilege to be able to watch him at work. During our stay we did 7 consecutive core-zone safaris (4 morning and 3 afternoon). On these safaris the focus was definitely to see tigers. The safaris were generally good but, as always with wildlife-spotting, so much depends on luck. On a few safaris we either did not see any tigers at all or saw them only from a distance and obscured by vegetation, but on our final safari we were fortunate enough to witness a tigress hunting and killing a langur. We saw the hunt and kill after having waited at the same spot for 45 minutes as the tigress lazed in the long grass, so it sometimes pays off to be patient. We should mention that the safaris, while rewarding, can be tiring: in May, the gates to the core zones open at 5.30am, which means having to wake up around 4.15am for morning safaris, and 4 days in a row of waking up at that time meant that we did not get too much sleep. Overall we would wholeheartedly recommend this lodge as a place to stay and as a base for safaris in Bandhavgarh . We wish to express special thanks to Amit, the general manager: we purchased a tiger painting at the souvenir shop but carelessly lost it while transiting in Delhi, and when we asked Amit if he could help get the painter to prepare another painting and send it to Singapore he very readily agreed, and at very reasonable cost. This simply exemplifies the excellent standard of service at Kings Lodge.…
We spent a week at King's Lodge looking for tigers. The staff was very attentive and friendly. Their guides and drivers are the best around. The rooms were comfortable and the Indian food was delicious. Highly recommend.
The place is located a little far but the access is easy. The management is awesome. Food had been excellent all the times. The cottages are brilliantly designed and have a great feel about it. Though it has a luxurious feel it’s very close to Nature and that is their hallmark! Swimming pool was the only place that was located right at the centre and had minimal privacy and hence we were not able to use it. But it’s definitely one of the best places that we have been to!!
We stayed at this wonderful property from 17. to 20. 04. 2022. This lodge has convinced us. Upon arrival we were instructed exactly in everything by the manager and then guided to our very beautiful stilt house. The very pleasant room was equipped with coffee/tea maker, drinking water and AC. Everything has been supplemented regularly. The meals were of high quality and in the evening before dinner at the Alfresco Forest Grill documentaries were shown or there was the performance of local dancers, with different snacks being served, very tasty. The complex is located directly at Bandhavgarh NP and Tala Gate is only 10 minutes away. The large area with trees and bamboo as well as grassland and a water body invite you to observe animals. The safaris of the lodge were also well organized. Of particular note is the manager, who was present at all times and had an answer to all questions.…
