The name says it all about the property. If you are trying to find sukoon in life, then do visit this place once. Totally away from the touristy spots, Sukoon is located in a very unexplored part of Uttarakhand where you will find beautifully built mud cottages, mesmerizing sunset views, and amazing food. Nupur as a host was very helpful in guiding us through the best routes and was constantly connected via phone to ensure that we have a comfortable visit. Though we reached little late on first day of check in, but manager of the property(Mr. Kailash) ensured that we are welcomed and served hot food. Food was amazing. It was freshly cooked and they literally had everything from Barbeque to Chola Bhatura to Dal Makhani. Must do thing according to us was the forest breakfast.
Sukoon is stunning - everything about it sparkles - the beautifully curated rooms , the views outside the lovely, large plate glass windows through which spectacular sunsets seep in, the stands of pine and birch, laden with birdsong, the joy and warmth with which every service is rendered , the dining hall set amidst the tall trees, the overwhelming sense of peace that infuses the place. Go for jungle walks and perhaps you will see an elusive Khaleej Pheasant flutter close to you, or watch a butterfly pause on a flower, have delicious breakfast served to you amidst lush greenery, sit out in the evenings outside your room and let the colours of the evening sky wash over you. Special mention must be made of the manager Kailash ji who will go out of his way to ensure that your stay is a memorable one. Let's just put it this way - a stay at Sukoon is good for the soul.…
Sukoon is true to its name. A place filled with tranquility. Has really beautiful cottage and mud rooms. Great staff, great service, great food, great experience. loved being there and hope to be there again soon :)
Had a great stay at Sukoon. Loved the mud-hut cottages. Excellent food and attention to detail. Beautiful scenic views of the hills. Mrs Nupur, the owner, was personally involved and ensured all our requests were met. Shoutout to Mr Kailash for the special care he took.
Sukoon, Bhatrojkhan (Near Ranikhet). We stayed for 3 nights (between 30 April -3 may). I travelled along with my wife, 2 kids, Mother in law and nanny. When we found this listing, we were immediately drawn to it. Despite the long traffic jams and a very long drive from our home in Gurgaon, we were so relieved when we reached. From one home to another. The property is Gorgeous. Just absolutely gorgeous. It is made to look like it’s in a middle of a jungle. Private when you want it and public when you are open to mingle. We opted for Log Huts, which is at the top with an entire view of the valley. It has two rooms+ two bathrooms and Kitchen with gas ( 4 burners), oven etc. it is like a small apartment set up. Kailash, the caretaker and his team left no stone unturned to help us. The house itself was well equipped and everything was anticipated for the guest and already provided. The views from inside the house as well as outside are equally beautiful. This place has good internet, and if you are on JIO it has 40-50 mbps in the property. We ate and opted for local cuisine and really enjoyed it. They have an al carte menu option for food. Kailash also gave us tips on what birds to spot and what a trip that was! We often found ourselves sitting in silence looking for exotic birds, listening to their chirps and finding some of the prettiest little things we have seen. The place felt like home and we felt no need to step outside for sightseeing. Thanks to Nupur ( owner of the property), for adding up the extra room because of our extended family. We came back with a rested minds and a full heart. Thank you, Kailash for making us a part of your life for the few days and letting us escape the madness of the city. We will come back for sure.I would recommend this place to everyone who loves to have good memories in beautiful and cosy surroundings, good food and stress-free time.…
As the name suggests, this property is a gem in the middle of nowhere, away from the hustle and bustle and what you finally get is Sukoon, & I mean literally. The team of Kailash, Pawan and everyone at the property are soo warm and welcoming, couldn’t have been a better home away from home experience. Food - fabulous Rooms - super spacious and comfortable Hot water - available even peak winter Google maps - perfect Internet (could be better, as phone network otherwise is an issue) We had a wonderful Experience enjoying yummy food everyday, bonfires, jungle trek, breakfast paranthas, clouds below us, serene sunsets. Just had an small hiccup of construction work when we reached day1, but speaking to Nupur was resolved in no time. Nupur’s opening this a passion project, reflects in the minute details at this property. So thank you Nupur for your hospitality. Cheers, Medha & Raghav…
Literally sukoon in the hills. We booked for 2 days but extended to 5 more days. Peaceful and private cottages with beautiful panoramic views. Attentive staff and a special mention to Kailash ji who is there for you all throughout and will do his best to make you feel comfortable. Good food and kumaoni meal is a must try.
I managed to book the place one day before my intended travel date. After arriving at the property, I was pleasantly surprised that I even managed to find a vacancy. The check-in process was flawless. Kailash ji, who manages the property, was present to welcome us, get us comfortable and warm and explained about the property, discussed a tentative itinerary for our stay, recommending us to take it slow and enjoy the experiences in and around the property. First night, our meal was served in the room. Delicious, organic, eco-sustainable food, meticulously arranged in casseroles. After having an equally good breakfast next day, my partner and I went for a nature trail around the property. Less than a KM from the property, one gets excellent 360 views of snow-capped mountains and the Ranikhet range. The rooms (mud house cottages) are super comfortable and a perfect example of how one need not compromise on luxury when looking for sustainable living. While access to continuous hot water and some form of heating in the room was required for this time of the year, the comforters in the room were effective. Nupur ji, the property owner, explained that they are new, and those provisions are underway. Special thanks to the staff at the property. Anita ji, the chefs and Kailash ji. You went out of your way to serve us the meals we asked for and did not compromise on your service levels. I have always enjoyed properties such as Sukoon, Bhatrojkhan - Luxury, community driven, eco sustainable and excellent service quality. Nupur ji and her team are onto something beautiful here and I would recommend Sukoon to anyone looking to spend time away from big towns, without compromising on the quality of stay and the scenic views of Kumaon. The views of the sunsets and clear starry night sky from the property would fill you with gratitude, peace and sense of appreciation for different terrains of Dev Bhoomi. Thank you Nupur ji and Sukoon for a wonderful experience. Look forward to visiting again.…
Let me start with staff..how cooperative they all have been throughout the stay .. Specially Kailash, the person in-charge of the property is extremely professionally and friendly at the same time. Great human being and is there to make your experience unforgettable. Great location with breathtaking views of mountains right from the window. Food was amazing. Breakfast is done in the forest literally. This was undoubtedly one of the best stays I have ever had. Cheers to Sukoon team, keep it up!!
Already shared my review in the pictures upload section. It’s a great place to unwind and be in nature. Breakfast was at a great setting but had limited options, the cottages are made aesthetically and it clearly gives away the fact that why is this place called Sukoon.
