The cultural vibrancy and heritage that dates back thousands of years truly makes Rajasthan the ‘Land of Great Kings’. Making that point, our trip started from the very ideal retreat— Mt. Abu,where we visited Prajapita Bramha Kumari Ashram and Gurushikhar, situated in the Aravalli range in Rajasthan.
Along with visiting the world famous Dilwara temple, we also went for some shopping in the evening. The trip was marvelously planned; little-little sessions of extra activities during the trip were quite interesting. We even had a short ‘Meet n Greet’ session.
Udaipur, ‘The City of Lakes’, was next on the itinerary. It gave us a glimpse of a palatial paradise amidst stretches of arid desert land. The Rajput art and architecture couldn’t go amiss, and the resilience of strong people gave this trip more significance. The locals of Rajasthan further added a charm to our trip with the brilliance of their folk culture, craft and festivities. We also visited Haldighati museum, Nathdwara and Eklingji en route to Udaipur.
Maharana Pratap Smarak – MotiMagri, Saheliyonki Bari - ‘Garden of the Maids of Honour’ and the City Palace gave us many memorable moments. We also enjoyed a boat ride in Lake Pichola and visited the Jag Mandir and the unique Crystal Gallery where a ‘Light and Sound Show’ was organized in the evening.
Indulging in the mouthwatering dishes of Rajasthan, ‘Hotel Maharaja’ at Mount Abu and ‘Hotel Vishnupriya’ of Udaipur served us delicacies like Dal Baati Churma and Gatte ki Sabzi.
Ajmer, the third destination on the itinerary, was a showcase of the most sacred spiritual places of Rajasthan. We also visited Chittorgarh Fort, Ranakumbha Palace, Meera Mandir, Vijay Stambha and Padmini’s Palace.
After that, we reached Jaipur - The Pink City, where we got a chance to explore Bramha Mandir, HawaMahal - ‘Palace of Winds’, Amer Fort, City Palace, Birla Mandir, Sanganeri printing showroom and Jantar Mantar.
With all the affection afforded to us by the royal culture of Rajasthan, the 8 days and 7 night trip then came to an end.
A nearly perfect trip, the only sore point for us was missing our 5 a.m. flight due to our late arrival at the airport at the beginning of the trip.
But Veena World’s management services were so supportive that we didn’t have to go through a lot. Amit, the tour manager, kept us informed of the subsequent flight timings and helped us boarding the new flight which was scheduled for 1.30 p.m in the afternoon.
Amit and his assistants were very helpful and cooperative. When we reached in the evening, Amit and his team received us so nicely and gave us such a warm welcome that we forgot all the hassle we had gone through earlier that day. The food, accommodation and entertainment, everything was excellent.
Hats off to the team!
One suggestion: I would like Veena World to alter their seating arrangement of the bus, as during the tour there were some elder people as well who were seated on back seats throughout the tour and did not get the chance to sit in the front. The seating arrangement should be kept flexible so that the younger ones can enjoy the back view and vice-versa.
Room food service was good. Rooms clean. Our room had a nice view of the Polo field.
