There is a romantic history behind this lovely homestay, hidden on a forested foothill of Gurushikar, the tallest mountain in the Aravali Range. In 1965, an English woman named Diana Wordsworth, a collateral descendant of the poet William Wordsworth, traveled to India to work on a film about the Ganga and fell in love with the country and with a colonel in the Indian Army, Buddha Sen. Property's Favourite Review
Nestling in the soft hills, amidst the protected forest area of Mount Abu, Wordsworth Lodge is a rare beauty, run by a former Taj GM Mr Nagendra with the loving support of his most humble & adorable team. Gentle breeze rustling through the trees, low hung clouds kissing your face natural landscape with minimal yet aesthetic human interference woo your heart at any hour of the day! The 11 odd rooms are cozy, comfortable with natural views from each window allowing you to have nature's constant healing presence throughout your stay. The several big & small gardens are available for private teas & games! Trekking up the surrounding low stone hills through the grasslands and gazing down at small lakes and streams that pop out during the monsoons is a breathtaking taking site! If one are lucky, one could site a bear or sambhar deer in the vicinity. The hoots and calls of the wildlife, the chirping birds & crickets, the giggles & cackles of your companions are all that you primarily relish, with an occasional honk just serving as a reminder of accessible city life not too far if needed. Our 10 days here with Nagendra ji & his boys was like being cocooned in the love & pampering of your own family. Every meal was an exploration for our senses with novel dishes panning Indian & global table spreads. And all of them Vegan, especially created for our group by the Chef & his team after carefully experimenting them for taste & presentation well before we arrived. The restaurant does serve eggs & non-vegetarian with equal luxuriance. The staff was keen and observant, providing us with our specific daily needs without reminding or asking. Hospitality was truly above & beyond the best of luxury hotels with an unmatched serene embrace of mama Gaia! A 7 star recommendation for your retreats & family getaways, hands down!

The staff are some of the most friendly people I've come across in a hotel, it is very comfortable and we were treated with constant kindness and hospitality. It was an incredibly comfortable stay and we felt at home the entire time. The location is peaceful and calm.

The check in was satisfactory. The size of the room is small and there was a challenge getting hot water in the shower for a bath. The glib talking manager attributed it to the approaching winter season causing the water in the pipes to get cold. Does this suggest that the property is usable only in summer? The untrained staff just walked into the room on two occasions and even went into the bathroom on one occasion catching me in a state of semi undress. The next morning the breakfast was disappointing. The chef made a mess of the sunny side up eggs and put green chilies in the omelet even after being instructed specifically to not do so. It took them 30 minutes to deliver just two toasts. As we wanted to leave early, we had to do so without partaking of breakfast. This place needs to stop calling itself a luxury resort as it is far from being so. The tariff is far in excess of the service being provided by them. They also did not provide a proper GST bill. This is certainly a place to be avoid when in Mount Abu.

We had a near to silent retreat at this place in June end /July 2022with our spiritual teacher . It was A Vegan retreat and despite the chef having no experience in this kind of cooking surpassed our expectation . They went all out to curate the menu with the retreat organisers, with awesome presentation of food and level of hospitality was beyond par . We would forget at times to be silent but the staff never broke the silence . The warmth , hospitality and personal care we received cannot be expressed in words . Mr Nagendra is a great story teller and a man full of life , laughter and a living example of being one with life as it comes . It felt home there and not a hotel . A space worth spending some time once every few months . Highly recommend it . 😎😎😎

Wordsworth lodge is a beautiful resort surrounded by hills and forest of Abu. The service is excellent. Rooms are spacious.... Bathrooms are clean too. They serve authentic and delicious Rajasthani food. Mr Nagendra helped us personally as and when required. The staff here is well mannered and served us with smile. We also enjoyed tracking where the one of the staff memebers accompanied us.
