There is a romantic history behind this lovely homestay, hidden on a forested foothill of Gurushikar, the tallest mountain in the Aravali Range. In 1965, an English woman named Diana Wordsworth, a collateral descendant of the poet William Wordsworth, traveled to India to work on a film about the Ganga and fell in love with the country and with a colonel in the Indian Army, Buddha Sen. Nestling in the soft hills, amidst the protected forest area of Mount Abu, Wordsworth Lodge is a rare beauty, run by a former Taj GM Mr Nagendra with the loving support of his most humble & adorable team. Gentle breeze rustling through the trees, low hung clouds kissing your face natural landscape with minimal yet aesthetic human interference woo your heart at any hour of the day! The 11 odd rooms are cozy, comfortable with natural views from each window allowing you to have nature's constant healing presence throughout your stay. The several big & small gardens are available for private teas & games! Trekking up the surrounding low stone hills through the grasslands and gazing down at small lakes and streams that pop out during the monsoons is a breathtaking taking site! If one are lucky, one could site a bear or sambhar deer in the vicinity. The hoots and calls of the wildlife, the chirping birds & crickets, the giggles & cackles of your companions are all that you primarily relish, with an occasional honk just serving as a reminder of accessible city life not too far if needed. Our 10 days here with Nagendra ji & his boys was like being cocooned in the love & pampering of your own family. Every meal was an exploration for our senses with novel dishes panning Indian & global table spreads. And all of them Vegan, especially created for our group by the Chef & his team after carefully experimenting them for taste & presentation well before we arrived. The restaurant does serve eggs & non-vegetarian with equal luxuriance. The staff was keen and observant, providing us with our specific daily needs without reminding or asking. Hospitality was truly above & beyond the best of luxury hotels with an unmatched serene embrace of mama Gaia! A 7 star recommendation for your retreats & family getaways, hands down!

Stayed at this property for 9 days in July. What an unforgettable experience it was. The location is pristine, nestled between the beautiful mountains and the lake. The monsoon clouds come wafting through the cottages and suites, and every corner of the property has brilliant shades of green from the verdant forest cover. There is an option to climb up for 20 mins to see the most spectacular sunsets or walk down to the lake to see the shimmering waters. To top it all the staff led by Nagendraji provides a five star level service. No request was to difficult for them to manage and the food prepared by the ex-Taj chef is finger licking good. Will definitely recommend this place to everyone looking for peace and beauty in Mt Abu.

Wordsworth lodge near Gurushikhar in Mt Abu has a quaint but interesting history intertwined with it—a descendent of the Romantic poet Wordsworth having made a cottage in the property her home in India. The riveting history apart, the few days we spent at this home stay were a balm to our exhausted souls. A budding poet or aspiring literateur would find here the charm and solace to fuel their pen. We had booked the suite on the upper floor that comes with a large terrace. It was a comfortable and spacious room with a great view of the distant Aravalli foothills. You saw only verdant greenery outside each window and glass pane. The staff here is courteous, helpful and patient. Nagendraji, who hosts the place, is a warm, hospitable, gracious and immensely knowledgable person full of stories and experiences to share. He is a gourmand, has great culinary tastes and skills and a sense of the most unusual spices and flavours. We thoroughly enjoyed his delightful company and his soulful cooking. The location is such that you can go off on long drives to Guru Shikhar and other points and just bask in the moment. Good food, good housekeeping and good company— all this typify the lodge. Highly recommend the place.

The Wordsworth Lodge is a delightfully charming place to stay at with family. We were housed in their huge suite which had an independent terrace. It is set in a location that is away from noise and crowds of tourists, and is surrounded by greenery. The food is great— in taste, presentation and variety. The host, Nagendra Singhji, was most knowledgeable, great company and an excellent chef himself. Highly recommend.

I can only be lucky, for I had the opportunity to stay in the beautiful Wordsworth Lodge, nestled amongst mountains and greenery. I was at the Lodge for ten days with a group and everything about our stay was wonderful - From the cottages to the views, and what do I even say about the food. The chef and his team exceeded themselves and spoilt us silly with a lip-smacking menu every day. A big thank you to the staff who were always on their toes to make sure our stay was comfortable and memorable.

Words would fall short to describe the amazing stay at this haven called wordsworth lodge! To say it was perfect would sound unbelievable...if you want to know what perfect means then visit, stay and experience this and if you find ways to redefine the word perfect contact Oxford dictionary to amend its meaning. With my limited vocabulary I would say this place has EVERYTHING you look for...be it luxury of nature, be it other life forms, be it stay luxury, be it services..and anything you may wish to get. Services by the team and the varied food served is TOPMOST so far (I who have traveled immensely)! Haven for birds! If you wish to discover the pandemonium in silence, THIS IS THE PLACE! Thankyou TEAM Wordsworth!!

A delightful boutique forest lodge nestled amongst the mountains . We stayed in the cottage at the far end and had an uninterrupted view of the forest. The food is tasty and homely and the service standards are impeccable. Don’t miss the 20 minute trek for a spectacular view of the valley and the sun setting over the mountains. Can’t wait to return !
