We booked here very last minute and have to say everything was amazing. This is a family run business and Yiorgios and his parents are great hosts and nothing is too much trouble. Beautiful location on mountainside between two traditional villages. The villages are at the end of the driveway - left for Piskopiano and right for Koutoufoulari. Both have a fabulous selection of bars and restaurants all in walking distance. Hersonissos is a 20 min walk downhill but best to take a can back (8 euros). Best beach in town was to the left of the harbour. The accommodation at Pilot villas was spotless in a beautiful setting and you can see the sea. Has the benefit of hotel service in apartments with a daily maid service. You can cook but so many good restaurants nearby so we didn’t bother as food was reasonably priced and to a high standard. Pool bar that also serves breakfast and lunch. The pool is really lovely possibly the cleanest pool we have ever been to and was never crowded even in August. It was hard to leave it as so peaceful with just the sound of cicadas. Hired a car for two days but you can manage with local taxis. Best day trip was to see Spinalonga. Most beautiful bay and such a fascinating place with a sad history but really glad went. We really loved this place and will definitely return.

I have just returned from my visit to the wonderful Pilots Villas. I have been coming here now for 12 years, and I am still amazed at how fantastic it is.
It is very very safe, you get your own sun lounger and there is have sanitizer available. If you are doubtful about coming, please don’t be.
It is run by a family who have made me feel welcome every time I come. The rooms are fantastic and are cleaned daily. The breakfast is amazing, make sure you try it.
The number of people returning year after year speaks volumes.
The resort itself was quieter than normal, but hopefully next year will be back to normal. 👍
I will be returning again in 2021.

We were delighted with our holiday at Pilots Villas! The location is perfect - set back and up from the street so that it is peaceful but a fantastic selection of tavernas and restaurants, bars, souvenir shops and supermarkets all within easy walking distance. We stayed in a penthouse suite with a superb view over the pool and right out towards Hersonnisos harbour and the sea. Koutouloufari is a lovely village with some beautiful old houses to see. One of the restaurants is in a beautiful old stone building which used to be an olive oil factory. Yiorgos and his parents who own the villas are lovely - they are so helpful and cannot do enough for you. They are always on hand to answer any questions you may have. Katerina’s lunches were delicious using organic vegetables and fruit from their own garden. Our suite was really comfortable with everything you could need, and we slept really well on a very comfortable bed. The pool and bar area is spacious and there are plenty of sun loungers. There is ample free parking if you want to hire a car and explore the island. We cannot recommend Pilots Villas highly enough, we found it to be the perfect place to stay and were delighted with our holiday.

My second visit to pilots and I love it , will definitely be back again next year. The owners are amazing extremely friendly and helpful. Catarinas breakfast is also divine. The rooms are to a very high standard. To those that are covid conscious the cleanliness is of an excellent standard and social distancing measures are in place with your own designated sun lounger for your stay. The restaurants near by provide some of the best food I’ve ever tasted. I experience total relaxation once a year and this is where I find it, in excellent company. What a delight everyone should experience pilots villas at least once in their life ... love it love it love it

Situated in the picturesque and pleasantly quiet Village of Koutouloufari, Pilots Villas Luxury Suites are quite simply the best accommodation you could wish to stay in. Surrounded by beautifully maintained gardens, a cleverly designed small and intimate complex with fantastic views over the sea at nearby Hersonnissos. The rooms are finished to a very high standard and furnished with everything you will need for a quiet break. The pool, bar & surrounding terrace area are spacious and uncluttered, with incredible views. Really friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Run by Yiorgos and his family, for whom, nothing is too much trouble. Will definitely be returning next year.

We’ve just returned from our third visit to Pilot’s and somehow it keeps getting better each time! We were slightly nervous about travelling due to the pandemic but need not have worried as Yiorgos and Family have put in place various precautions to protect both themselves and guests. The cleanliness was second to none and we felt very safe throughout our stay. Examples of precautions include: masks, spacing between sunbeds (individual sunbed for each guest for length of their stay), hand sanitiser etc.
Highlights of our stay were Katerina’s amazing breakfasts and ice cream iced coffees! ☕️ A must try!
You will never go anywhere which welcomes you more than at Pilot’s. The family are lovely and go out of their way to make sure every guest has a uniquely special experience to remember. This is why their guests return time after time.

The hotel is a family owned and ran business, who were both polite, courteous and friendly. Who offered that genuine hospitality unique to Greece and In particular Crete.
The accommodation is very comfortable spacious with the layout of the villas & suites being well situated within beautifully designed & landscaped gardens which are all immaculately maintained.
However,.. it is the pool which “Seals the Deal”. You can tell almost immediately the amount of hard work & effort it takes on a daily basis to maintain the extremely high standards they adhere to here at Pilot’s…
I consider myself lucky to have swam daily within these “Crystal Clear” waters, however, if your more of lounger than a swimmer, there are no fears of “battling for a sunbed at Pilot’s… more than ample are well situated around the pool area with enough space given for privacy if required.
Breakfast is served fresh to order by pre-booking the evening before, and delicious lunches and snacks are also available to order freshly prepared.
Although, there is no evening menu available, the bar is the perfect setting to enjoy a relaxing drink before venturing into the village or alternatively to enhance your evening with a suitable nightcap.
In summary… Pilot’s is the “Perfect” choice to enjoy peace, tranquility and relaxation situated in the very heart of the “Perfect” Village of Koutalfari… “Enjoy!”…

Had a fantastic stay here in September 2024, I went on a solo trip and found that it was the perfect location and I cannot recommend it enough (I have been to this village many times before, but this is my first time staying at this resort, and I will absolutely be returning). I had a one bed apartment with balcony and sea view and the room was spacious, extremely clean, the view of the sea was stunning and the entire resort was perfect. This is a family owned resort and they truly are the loveliest people ever, so kind, great conversation and can't do enough for you. I was very impressed with the pool area, the pool itself is a great size, really clean and a good set of rules for ensuring everyone has a pleasant stay. In terms of rules, a stand out for me is the non reservation of sun beds first thing, and if you are leaving the area for a longer timeframe, that you take your items with you - it made for a stress free holiday, no getting up early to put towels down and it also meant that there was always availability around the pool no matter what time of day you went to the area. There is a bar around the pool where you can get drinks, food is available during the day and you have a lovely view from the pool area. There is also seating available which I thought was a nice touch for anyone wanting to relax but not necessarily sunbathe. I found that this is definitely a place people return to, which was evident amongst the guests and I found that made a really nice atmosphere and bought some lovely conversations which made me feel very welcome both from the owners and other guests perspectives, especially as I was solo during this trip! Just back from my annual May trip to Koutouloufari. Staying at the wonderful Pilots Villa. I have been going back year after year and can not fault the villages , the people and the overall experience.
My special praise goes to Yoirgos, and his parents at Pilots Villa, they make a holiday into a home from home. I was staying in the same excellent room from last September and waking up on the first day it felt like i had not left at all. I was so relaxed and welcomed that the worries and lack of sleep ( late flight ) washed away. Cant wait till im back again in September. I whole heartedly recommend a visit. Like me and others who i meet year after year, once you stay you wont want to go anywhere else.

It is a friendly family business, delicious breakfast just like your mother would make it. The beds were wonderful to sleep on. Very very clean (room, towels, pool). We had a great time and even though we want to see different places every year, we would love to come back here. Just because it was fun and everything could be asked or arranged. The area also has nice restaurants with rooftops and some shops. The beach/bars/boulevard are not too far (20 minutes). We walked there and back almost every day, but a taxi is also reasonable (short distance 10 euros). If you are there: the Mai Tai's at Palm Beach are highly recommended😉 and we thought the food next door at Thalassa was great food and not expensive, we have gone back more often!! For culinary delights, don't miss the Atrium, immediately to the right of the pilot villa, the first cozy spot (at the back is a garden)

The complex is quite small and the different room types are mixed across the site. If you email Yiorgos he’d be able to give you more details. He’s really dedicated to making his guests stay perfect. We’re already booked to return this year as we just loved it so much. Hope this is helpful.
