We had a lovely stay at Lazy Lagoon. We were very lucky in the sense that only 2 other bungalows were occupied when we booked there, so we almost had a desert island experience. The staff were great and very attentive, we felt like we were staying with friends. The bungalows were even better than expected: very spacious, eco-friendly and...

A perfect getaway from Dar es Salaam - drive for about an hour, hop into a small local boat, and you are there in the island. The rooms are basic, but extremely comfortable, facing the ocean; the food and the service is great. Chill out at the beach, enjoy the small pool, do some canoeing, play some pool...perfect place to...

We went here quite by chance on the recommendation of Stanley's Kopje. We were so pleased we did! Normally we feel trapped on sand spit islands but not here! You can walk for miles in a beautiful wild environment which is great having been on safari. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and you have total privacy.Jordan, the staff and...

Well what can we say, after the rigours of safaris you are met by your host Jordan who takes you to the boat for your transfer to the island. The island itself only has the common area and 12 bands spread along the sea, with waves crashing just outside your banda. It is perfect for a complete rest and wind...

This was the perfect place for my husband and I to get rid of our jetlag as travelling from Australia. We were visiting friends at Bagamoyo. Just a short boat ride from Bagamoyo to the island. We spent 3 days midweek and lucky enough that we were the only guests at the time. A large group of people just left...

A group of us came here last November for our annual getaway. We're all seasoned travellers and some work in the travel industry and we all absolutely loved this place. The food was very good and they had to work hard to accommodate quite a few special diets among us. We loved Oliver, who was working as relief manager for...

Lazy Lagoon was a perfect escape for a weekend away from Dar. The staff was excellent and Louis was very welcoming and accommodating. The local bungalows were nice and cozy with beachfront views that you could get lost in for hours. The morning cup of coffee on the porch was a nice touch as well.

Loving Lazy Lagoon! I would like to tell you a bit about my second visit there over this last weekend. We organized a special dinner and overnight stay for 20 people, including a bunch of little kids. The booking guy and the manager, Lewis, were awesome: responsive, accommodating, flexible, respectful. The kitchen and wait staff were equally wonderful. After my...

We have visited Lazy Lagoon several times, and it's a wonderful place. Perfect for a romantic getaway, but also nice to visit with friend or family. The island is gorgeous. The rooms a spacious and very clean, with astonishing views over the Indian Ocean. The host Lewis made our stay even more perfect. He helps where possible, but in the...

Lazy Lagoon is incredibly relaxing with private beach bandas and a nearly empty beach great for walks. The rooms are nice, clean and open allowing the breeze to come through. Getting the boat across was smooth and easy. The service at Lazy Lagoon is good, the food is average. When we were there the current was really strong and we...
