Whilst visiting Kitale to help with renovations at an orphanage we had the good fortune to stay at this beautiful place. Nothing was too much trouble for Theresa and Ibrahim. Our room was a typical basic room with everything we needed, including mosquito nets. Plenty of space to hang clothes, store cases etc. Large bathroom - where showers could be...

I needed a quiet, cheap and safe place to stay .. Karibuni is the answer. Teresa, who runs the guest house is very hospitable and knowledgeable about local issues. Ibrahim is a great cook. The rooms are not posh but very comfortable and clean with good hot water and moz nets. Great breakfast each morning and good brewed Kenyan coffee....

Whilst visiting a near-by baby rescue centre to do some voluntary work, we were most welcomed by Theresa and Ibrahim to stay at their delightful lodge. Although we were woken by the 5am call to prayer each day, by 6.30 or 7.00 a.m. we enjoyed sitting on the dining room verandah, with the peace and quiet of the wonderful gardens....

This was a lovely surprise of a place! We went out to do some charity work in Kenya, and needed somewhere to stay. Each of the rooms had mosquito nets (not something everyone offers!). The smaller rooms (doubles) were quaint little out-house type buildings (and then larger ones for more people). The food was basic, but lovely none the less...

It's not 5* nor does it want to be - and neither is anywhere else in Kitale - but it is comfy, friendly, laid back and Ibrahim cooks great dinners. The rooms are in cottages in the large compound, I took a double with ensuite - a good size with a comfortable bed and small fridge + tea/coffee making facility....

We stayed here for one night while we were in Kitale. It is decent boda ride from the city center and can involve rough roads depending on your driver's route choice. The comfortable, quiet, and relaxed atmosphere was well worth the trip and the cost. We stayed in a room in the main house, which was incredibly comfortable. We had...

If you want comfort and a home from home feel, karibuni lodge is the place to stay. Staff were so friendly and made us all feel at home straight away. I was a bit dubious about going to Kenya anyway, but this lodge made us feel safe straight away. Having a big garden for the children to play football and...

Great, comfy, home-style cottages. We had a nice stay. Theresa was very helpful when we asked about drivers to excursions, and the food was fantastic. It was also nice being outside of busy downtown Kitale but still within walking distance. If you're staying in Kitale, you really can't beat the price or the ambiance of Karibuni Lodge!

I discovered Karibuni Lodge in June of 2011, just about the same time I had grown weary with all the other accommodation options in Kitale. And I've been a regular customer ever since! It's like a 'home away from home', where everyone is friendly and like a family.

A small way from the city centre, but in the quiet suburbs. The food was delicious, some of the best good we had in Kenya, and one if the best curries I've had in a very long time. All very reasonably priced. Theresa the owner was incredibly helpful to us when out driver had messed us up entirely. The rooms...
