This is the worst homestay I have ever visited. Don't know how people wrote positive reviews about this, which are totally misleading. It is just an old house converted into a homestay without any modifications or service! The room door is of the old village house type where you have two doors with a bolt in the middle. There is a lot of gap between the two doors which steals your privacy. The roof and walls give the look of an old house. We arrived at around 5 pm, only to hear that the cook had already left and we had to order food from outside. I was in continuous contact with the owner since that morning but he never mentioned that we had to order food beforehand for the cook to make it. Since the homestay is located far from Kumarakom, we didn't have a choice but to order from whichever place he suggested, which took its own sweet time to deliver. The homestay is managed by only one person and the cook comes in the morning and leaves in the evening. We felt as if we had visited some very distant relatives' house, that too when the lady of the house was not there. We were uncomfortable to the core!!! I would never suggest this to anyone.…

We appreciate the feed back from Mr. .Gopi Krishna Swarangi, We have rectified the complaint on painting. However, regarding the door, the big gap shown in the picture is because the latch at the bottom level of the door has not been put porpoerly. We are trying to rectifiy the same without making a change in the door as we are trying to maintain the house as it is as foreign nationals appreciate these kind of doors and furniture pieces. Let me also point out that our homestay is recommeded for those who enjoy nature and tradition. Here, Mr. Gopi Krishna changed the dates more than a couple of times and since the final booking date was preponed during the pooja holidays, i had to put the direct booking rates for which he had agreed. They had booked for 2 persons .However, once he reached here, he was unwilling to pay which is not at all ethical. It may also be noted that we didnot charge for the extra bed which was not informed at the time of booking. I feel it is this mind set that made him put such a review where some of the points are not at all relevant which would mislead travellers. Such remarks like the homestay is away from Kumarakom is totally baseless as our homestay is just .1 KM . away from the major Resorts like, 1 .Abad Whispering Palms Resort. 2. Leisure Vaccations Gold Field Lake Resort. 3. Illikkalam Lake Resort. 4. Paradise Resort. 5. Lake Residency. 6. Karma Chakra Resort. 7. Edassery Kayal Resort. 8. Zuri Resort. 9. Back Water Ripples Resort. 10. Aveda Resort. 11..Lake Song Resort. Regarding the food, we prepare food only on demand, hence should be informed earlier.Howver, due to the shortage of time, we ordered food from one of the reputed hotels and billed the same. ''Aqua Lilli's Water Front Home Stay'' located very near to Attippeedika, Kumarakom. The location is very nice and have a silent atmosphere. This home has 5 rooms and one of which is traditional Ara-Nira. All the rooms have AC units. Cook is available (from 7AM to 7PM ) and food was tasty.

We went as a family for a day out. Lunch, boating and angling.We got to do all. But the feel was business like, not holiday or home guest like. The place is well located but the rooms and building are very ordinary. Service is personal but basic and over priced at the end of the day. Food is very basic and not well presented. I would expect more for the cost.

Appreciate your response, however please note that we are of course running a business but definitely not unethical. Aqualillies is a homestay and not a resort . We give well prepared traditional food . Due to some inconvenience the food was bought from a reputed hotel and charged accordingly with the consent of the Mrs. Thomas (guest) before checking in. Aqua Lilies is just a few kilometers away from Kumarakom Police Station. A truly homely place with break out facilities for kids. Since it was Onam season we had swing/oonjal too. Make sure you try fishing options at Metran Kaayal. Also take the ksrtc boat ride to Muhamma from the Kumarakom boat jetty. Food at Aqua Lilies is awesome. You will love it.

The place is very traditional and have all the modern amenities.The location is great, rooms were comfortable and quiet, Clean wash rooms and linen, tasty food, helpful people. the country boat ride and fishing were real fun. We couldn't have asked for a better place. We felt it's our own family native home. We stayed with extended family for 5 days and it was a wonderful experience. Mr Andrew took care of all of us well. In House food arrangement by Mrs Molly (cook) was delicious with variety of dishes available. Would definitely love to come again and would highly recommend to all

It is actually a wonderful place to stay & enjoy. we went for a family trip with about 12 adults and a baby. the hospitality was awesome. The food was excellent home made.nice people & environment. unfortunately cud stay only one night because of our schedule.wud love to visit again when time permits. special mention about the wooden room upstairs, it was a typical kerala type and nice to stay.

The place is very homely and safe. It gives you the experience of staying in a kerala house. People are hospitable. Enjoyed the delicious karimeen, fishing, boating. Mr. Andrews arranges auto or taxi to go around. My kids really enjoyed the trip.

We stayed there for just one night and we were really tired but Andrews sir ensured that we get complete rest and he arranged everything for us. Not to forget the food was amazing and reasonably priced. The property is big and well maintained. He took me for a trip around the property which I appreciate a lot.
