Stayed here for cookie if nights Room clean air on and fan worked well. Food fine local dishes fish curry etc.swimming pool warm and clean. But local temple next door we’re celebrating the feast of feeding the snake around the neck of Sheba. This meant loud piped music from 4am for all the nights we stayed there. The rest of the days were intermingled with drumming and horns and music which was quite pleasant. So neighbours can be noisy. And we were at start if northwest monsoon so there are mosquitos after blood.
I have been in Kerala for almost 1 month and this is the first time I have experienced dishonesty. I booked a double room with balcony and my review is based on the first room we were shown. It was a disgrace. There was a crack down one side that you could see clear daylight through, a dead cockroach on the floor, a filthy bathroom and dangerous looking wiring behind the TV. Of course there was no balcony either. Before I could even open my mouth to vocalise my displeasure, the member of staff asked me if I would like to pay extra to upgrade! This felt like a con. I exchanged words with the manager who would not budge. She eventually agreed to a discount rate for the upgrade, but not without a snarl and some angry mutterings in her mother tongue. The food was pretty poor by Keralan standards as well. My advice would be to stay as far away as possible from this place and go to one of the hundred other pleasant homestays or hotels. If I could give a zero, I would’ve.…
Loved our stay here, its a place full of history and charm. It is beautifully maintained and appointed. The upstairs rooms are large and well equipped with everything you may need. Comfortable bed, great private balcony. The bathroom is very good with a hot shower. The room is immaculately clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. The swimming pool is large, clean and a welcome touch. The breakfast was a very good Kerala breakfast. It is a peaceful place and I believe good value for the level of comfort it provides.
I stayed at Tharavadu Heritage Home In November 2018. It’s nicely set in a quite place, far from the madding crowd of the city. The owners have cleverly managed to retain the rustic look of a mid-Travancore family abode; hence its truly what it is advertised as. The bathroom and bedroom is good value for money. They have a refurbished lovely swimming pool. The layout of the rooms, the veranda, the cupboards in the room, the doors and even the lock to the door ( I’ve attached some photos) for the room reminded me of my grandparents home in Kerala. I’m half a Keralite settled in UK; and the place enabled me to enjoy a wonderful Tharavadian experience; which I would anyday exchange for a highend corporate city hotel. The staff are friendly, helpful and polite. KrishnaKumar would wake me up spot on time with a nice black aromatic cuppa!!!…
