At the outset, a tip for travelers coming from Kochi airport is to try and ask for the resort taxi. We took a prepaid from the airport and it was a terrible experience. The driver, who spoke neither Hindi nor English was clueless about the location though the resort was alongside most other resorts in Kumarakom. We relied on Google Maps for the last one hour of the ride and the driver made us pay extra too, at the end of it all! The property is well laid out, almost on stilts, beside the lake. You can see lovely sunsets over the lake every evening. The restaurant staff, led by Madhuri is exceptional and the chef made all efforts to meet our needs (my daughter is vegetarian and he never failed to get us great dishes). The breakfast has wonderful local and continental choices. A fruit plate comprising all the local fare is wonderful. The housekeeping staff was meticulous and Minto did a great job with our room. The room was spacious and had a veranda that gave a view of the lake. The staff used a herbal pesticide that kept all insects and mosquitoes at bay. The bathroom could do with slightly better accessories. But we did get a few things on placing a request. You can do boat rides on the beautiful resort boat. But try and book early. We booked a slot but had to nearly call it off as the boat was booked for an overnight trip. Fortunately it was resolved. The boat ride was a great experience, and a highlight was a long bed of lotuses in the lake. The pleasant January weather make the ride wonderful, with a soft breeze flowing by. The pool and the gym area are quite good too. Local day trips are slightly expensive if done through the resort. After the first day, we found a taxi service provider close to the resort who was quite good. Overall, it is a beautiful place to enjoy for some quiet, great sights and lots of good food.

Kumarakom is 85 Kms away from the Airport and its unlikely that a driver knows the exact location. You could use Google maps or call up the resort to guide you, but we always recommend you ask for an airport pick up from the Resort, so that the drivers are experienced with the locality and will know the road and traffic conditions. Kumarakom is a UN awarded destination for Responsible Tourism, and as part of this all the drivers are local residents and trained to deal with tourists. We also recommend only these drivers being a socially responsible Tourism Player. We do not recommend even the ones close to resort as they have not been included in the Responsible Tourism initiative for various reasons. Absolutely loved how beautiful and serene the property is!! The location is just picture perfect Living by the vast Vaikom lake right at the property is such an experience by itself The rooms are very spacious clean neat and well maintained They give utmost importance to cleanliness and hygiene. To top it the staff is extremely courteous and very very friendly. Be it Surekha at the reception who received us so well or Anila who keeps the kids so entertained and friendly with them. She taught my daughter such good crafts and spent time fishing with her.. Ever smiling and so patient all through. We had the Vishu Sadya which was awesome Just simply loved our stay❤️
The few improvement areas I suggest is: 1.Very limited veg options 2.wish there is a breakfast buffet which is amiss 3.overall the food is expensive 4.Missing in the menu are authentic kerala breakfast items 5. No waste bins placed anywhere in general areas of the property

This beautiful spot on the Wembanadu Lake is easily accessible by air or by train or by road from Cochin airport or Kottayam station respectively. A telephone before we arrived at the resort ensured that the resort staff was expecting us and this made us feel welcome. As we arrived , we were pleasantly treated to a tender coconut drink and quickly ushered in into our allotted living quarters. The room itself was a spacious well appointed clean room on the ground floor from where we had very clear view of the lake and greenery. We could relax well The bathroom was clean and round the clock supply of hot water and amenities. The restaurant was a surprise as delicious food was served at a very reasonable cost and served by a courteous staff. During peak hours there was a delay in serving food but otherwise trouble free.
Front desk and all personnel on the site were very cordial and courteous, especially Mr Lijo were/ was very helpful and interacted with us very well and made all requested arrangements.
It was pleasant stay indeed and we are sure to return .

Beautiful location overlooking the lake from most rooms, the big infinity pool and the terrace of the restaurant. It all breathes serenity, tranquility and space.
The food and service in the restaurant were excellent. Our 'European stomachs' cannot handle all Indian cuisine, so all the staff took extra good care of us to keep us safe:) We enjoyed both the continental/English and local breakfasts, drank lots of tea just to enjoy the view from the terrace and in the evening we always had the chef's specials to taste a piece of all of India. We did miss a glass of wine with our dinner (no alcoholic beverages), and the bar was still closed due to covid, which was a pity because the bar looked great.
We had 2 very nice spa treatments. First we were disappointed they only do Ayuverdic treatments (not our favorite), but the spa was clean and comfortable, so we booked a massage and steam bath. Staff was very capable and friendly.
We hired the beautifully authentic houseboat for a trip on the lake one afternoon. Food and drinks were included, although we payed extra for the fish that we bought at a fish shop located in the middle of the lake and the cook prepared for us. It was a nice way to take a peep at life at the waterfront.
Thanks to all the staff at Karma Chakra, who were very friendly and absolutely keen to make their guests happy!

Karma Chakra Kumarakom is a perfect example of a totally wonderful holiday experience. Beautifully located with an ambiance that adds to its inherent beauty coupled with supremely efficient service, it does not need anything else. All the staff is serving with a smile, check is professionally efficient and the rooms have everything that a family would need to make their stay most comfortable and relaxing. The views from the room are fabulous and meditating. The property is spotlessly clean and very well up kept. The menu at the Waterside restaurant is sumptuous and delicious with a wide variety of choices. Don't give it any second thought. They would go out all the way to make your holiday an unforgettable one at their place !

My first holiday at Karma Chakra, Kerala was exotic to say the least. From the time I arrived there, l was in a different world altogether. The first sight that I took in was the swimming pool and beyond, there was the soft, silent stretch of the shimmering backwaters, a feast to the eyes. This place is absolutely, astonishingly beautiful. Now a few words about the ever smiling staff. They were helpful, efficient and kind and made our stay at the resort comfortable. The rooms were clean, large and a mini kitchenette made it possible to have bed tea/coffee in the mornings. Every evening some program or the other was arranged for the guests, like family games, karoke, housie, etc. Food was tasty and tempting and we enjoyed it. It was with a heavy heart that we left Karma Chakra but with a lot of pleasing memories.

I have travelled to many resorts in my lifetime, but the quality of service, maintenance that we get to see in Karma properties are par excellence! We stayed here for 8 nights with our family. The quality of food served at the restaurants are absolutely awesome. Actually we didnt explore much of outside food because at the restaurant, the Chef Pardosh made anything that we wanted to eat. The staff in the restaurant Joys, Lal, Reshmi, Dantes always smiling to serve anything with most promptness. At the front desk Divya and Liju were fantastic host, they took care of everything to make this trip memorable. Even the GM Rakesh was always approachable and could be seen in the property roaming to ensure everything is impeccable. I would definitely want to go back to this property for its warmth and wonderful service. thanks everyone

This could be our around 15th visit to this resort and every time there is so much of freshness. I can never get enough of this resort of Karma group which for me it's the flagship resort in India by Odyssey Karma group. A Class by itself, well maintained, with well groomed staff, all of them duly vaccinated.
Mr.Lijo the G.M of the resort and his entire team are ever ready to serve the guests, with so much warmth and courteous service that one feel home away from home. Minutest requirment s of guests are taken care of with ever smiling staff, who despite of the difficult times of Covid pendamic are so much courteous and helpful to all the inmates.
The food here is excellent, with Chef Pradosh who has been serving Chakra since more than 4/5 years is the most talented chef at the restaurant. Be it vegetarian or non-veg dishes, his hands has magic touch. The quantity served is not at all miserly measured but rather so much sumptuous that Chakra resort food needs special praise.
The cleanliness all around is strikingly eye catching. While many other resorts are on the verge of closing due to pendamic situation and no tourist inflow in Kerala, Karma Chakra is the safest and most safe resort to be staying in.
Myself iam member of Karma group since 2009 and have observed over all these years that any Karma gropu has been doing well.
Hope Karma keeps on the good work and spread widespread happiness. I feel proud to be member of Karma group.

I stayed at the Karma Chakra in June 2022. The rooms were spacious and clean. The views of the lake were serene and peaceful, and the staff went out of their way to make our holiday a memorable one. The staff at the front office were responsive to all our needs with a smile. I am especially appreciative of Joys, Arun and Dantes at The Waterside resaturant, who were attentive and recommended wonderful local delicacies that enriched our Kerala experience. They even prepared some dishes that were not included in the menu for the day . Those dishes had such beautiful clean flavours that I will always crave for more. We also had 2 spa days. Anu and Sujith at the spa recommended treatments as per our needs and also stayed back late to accomodate us. Karma Chakra is one of the best Karma resorts I have visited mainly due to the service and hospitality of the staff .

It's almost 4 hours journey from Kochi Airport and car is the only option which will cost you subject to vehicle you're choosing between INR 3.5k to 4.5k.
Hii.. It's a nice boutique resort with back water where you can enjoy relaxing time. They have, swimming pool, spa & other games area aswell. About sight seeing, there are 4 famous Shiva temples in radius of around 80 kms worth visiting. There are 2 timings morning 6 to 10 & evening 5 to 8.00. So you can hire a cab from resort & visit as your suitable timings morning or evening. But pls note that the temples strictly follow timings.. so plan accordingly. The other place to visit is Allepy, where if interested can book Kaya king which is done online.. or can book a shikara for 1 to 2 hrs & Enjoy boat ride in the vast lake for a memorable time. Since it's very hot now , either choose early morning 7 ~8 am or evening time around 4.30 that will be better. For all this, resort people are very helpful in booking cab, shikara & so on.. just also set the best outing timings with them for your convenience.. Reception people at the resort are very nice & they guide us Best for nice stay & outing..
