We stayed here for 3 nights and it was extremely peaceful. If you want to get away from it all stay here, there is only one restaurant but the menu is extensive. And the stand out here was the food, it was the best food we had in India over a 4 week trip. On the 3rd day we were...

I am at a loss to understand people who rave about this hotel. It makes Fawlty Towers look good! Yes the setting and history are wonderful but it just does not cater for foreigners. Even German Indians were complaining. Our reception was cold and no greeting although I had emailed ahead to say we would be arriving after a hideous...

Quite, serene, a great place to carry a few books and really relax. I have seen much nicer Taj properties across India in terms of room interiors and upkeep. But I am not complaining - it was beautiful. I really love this property for the very nice staff. They were helpful and alert. The food was fabulous. The fish curry,...

We stayed here on our honeymoon, this being the second stay after Taj, Malabar and we wished instead of the two days, we could have stayed here longer. The property is an old English colonial house built in front of lake. The hotel cottages all face this lake. The initial welcome from the manager made us feel right at home....

Lizard fell on me. Checked out the next morning at the crack of dawn and ran back to Taj Malabar. General Manager did try to salvage situation by offering to give me the Presidential suite/ villa but I had a sleepless night with the lizard falling on me so scooted back to the Taj Malabar where I felt comfortable in...

We recently spent 3 days at the Taj Vivanta at Kumarakom. It was a wonderful time, made special by the brilliant customer service afforded by the staff at the front desk, restaurant, housekeeping and above all (Mr Ravindaran and his crew) the kids activities crew. The property is on the banks of the Lake and Taj leverages the location and...

We had dinner at Taj restaurant on 22nd Dec , it was terrible experience. The staffs were very rude. There were lots of mosquitoes and they initially gave seats and asked us to leave saying that it was full.

We stayed at the Taj for 2 nights in a villa. The main cottage of the hotel which is center of all activity and dining is a colonial building which is next to a huge man-made lagoon fed by waters of the Vembanad lake. This heritage property was first taken over by the government of India and then purchased by...
