We stayed here for a few nights. Experienced a night at the houseboat and then at their meandering pool room. If I have to describe my stay in 1 word -- it would be "FABULOUS" I would not like to name anyone, because it would be grave injustice to anyone who I wmay accidently miss out naming on but right from the reception area, to housekeeping, the kitchen, restaurants, activities -- each and every soul who works at KLR gives their heart out to make your stay is super memorable. At KLR -- they do not have the word NO in their dictionary. The food -- be it at the house boat or at the restaurant, is top notch. We had some restrictions on food, but they made sure that it was taken care of during our meals. We were celebrating my wife's birthday here -- they arranged for a nicely decorated corner table at the Seafood restaurant for us -- a quiet candle lit dinner, with noone around, dinner in peace with my wife -- could not have asked for more. Even our room was superbly decorated with the flowers and balloons as a surprise. I loved every moment I spent at KLR and would surely be returning there -- hopefully in a better weather. Early June is still summer time -- so can get a little warm during the day. The rooms are very well kept, in top notch condition -- and I loved the open bathroom concept. Also, we were fortunate ( and I do not believe this to be a coincidence. The ladies at the reception worked their magic) to get a corner room at the meandering pool. We got a nice pool and backwater view. Serene beauty. One of the best resorts that I have stayed at in the entire world. From the well cared for grounds, to the excellent food and service, we had the most relaxing time on our vacation while we were there. The standout, amongst all of the other things, was the bartender, Samuel. He is a true mixologists. We are not big drinkers, but Samuel consistently came up with drinks that my wife and I both enjoyed. The rest of this staff was amazing as well, from the front desk, to the shop workers, and activities personnel, this place is a true standout!

It's indeed a property which has luxurious setup , rustic room , magnificent breakfast and amazing sunset cruise if the weather is good but sadly it's highly overrated and lacks the vibe of Kerala. The place is very beautiful but may not be comfortable for the majority of people for reasons mentioned ahead.The place lacks basic genuine warmth which a guest is entitled to receive irrespective of the category or length of stay. We could sense the casual and somewhat over confident attitude almost throughout including management. So would advise travellers for whom cost of property seem higher to rethink their decision looking to put in an extra penny for a lifetime experience if they have a budget travel.As sorry to say you would be highly disappointed.But if you are okay being yourself and have no expectations from property then go for it. It's not the materialistic beauty or photos ..it's how you make your guest feel during their stay is what they carry along with them and matters more. Our stay at this magnificent property has been very memorable. Our stay in Heritage villa with private pool was fabulous. The entire property is very well maintained and have a scenic view with the infinity pool facing the lake. A great hospitality by the entire team right from the time one enters the property. We had all our meals at their restaurant Ettukettu which has a huge spread and choice for people of all ages. Enjoyed their Ayurveda massage which is also a must try. A must visit property to refresh your mind body and soul. Totally value for money. Would Thank the entire team for making it memorable stay for us.

I was in India for two weeks on a business trip and found myself with time on my hands in Kerala over the weekend. A work colleague who lives in Kerala recommended I stay at this resort and I’m so grateful she did. I’m usually wary of resorts which can be flashy and sort of commercial and sterile. This was the opposite. The resort was incredibly serene, peaceful. Traditional architecture. The lock on my bedroom door itself was an artistic wonder. The aryuvedic spa massage was a treat. There are all kinds of activities and things during the day. I mostly holed up in my beautiful hotel room to work, but I had an amazing breakfast, and then, in the evening I went out on the boat the watch the sunset. I also went for a long swim in the meandering pool at night in the dark. I was the only one there and it was magical. If you’d like this idea book one of the hotel rooms that’s directly on the pool. I think this is one of my all-time favorite hotels, and I want to come back with my family someday. …

Whilst some distance from Kochi, this is the place to get a proper feel for the region. We stayed in the Presidential suite and then the House boat, and can only say it was exceptional. The service is exemplary and the food gave us a deep insght into the magic of Kerala.
