You feel the stress disappear from your body upon entering the gates of Whispering Palms Resort. The long driveway takes you past colourful manicured gardens and leads you to a reception area that has plenty of wow factor.
My mind went into overdrive trying to decide where to look first: directly ahead to the infinity pool that disappears into the palm lined backwaters beyond, the reception area itself with the soaring raked ceiling and grand modern chandelier or to the pretty pond filled with fish and greenery?
Following our welcome drinks, we were ushered down a pathway to our lovely room. The main features of the accommodation were high raked ceilings with exposed timber beams and large windows that took in the view of the peaceful pond. My favourite feature was the outdoor seating area which was prefect for taking in the serenity of the surrounds. All the standard items could also be found: TV, tea making facilities, hairdryer and good wifi access (only 1 device). For me the only criticism was in the bathroom: there was no shelf in the shower recess to store shampoo & soap etc., nor above the basin. They’re easy fixes and would make ones stay a bit more manageable.
When our guide informed us we’d be eating dinner at the restaurant and it was buffet, I was very dubious. But, I’m always happy to admit when I get it wrong, as the food at Whispering Palms is amongst the very best I’ve had. Hands down! Plenty of variety, well cooked and completely flavoursome. Bravo to all. Breakfast the following morning was equally as excellent.
One thing to keep in mind - this is a dry resort, meaning no alcohol is served. You can, however, BYO and consume drinks in your room. For me, this wasn't a deal-breaker: I’ll be back some day!

First thing you notice about this place is an amazing reception which is lake facing. We had booked rooms facing the lake which were priced on the higher side but absolutely worth it - rooms opened to the lake front from where you can enjoy the sunset. Swimming pool is lake-facing too & hence was a hit with us. We ordered dinner which was just about ok. Breakfast had an amazing variety with good mix of local food. They also have an in-house local music event every evening which is very soothing.
Service is average. Washrooms need to be maintained better. Also, this place has no alcohol, so you need to carry the same.

Well as you can make out from the title, my soul purpose of visit was to relax. Once we reached the resort I was awestruck by the view. Little did I know that the bigger surprise was awaiting. As i entered the room (a separate villa) I was literally frozen by the design and the uniqueness of the room.
The room had the biggest washroom that I have ever seen with a bath tub and an extended area under open roof.
There also was garden at the back of the room and hammocks were preset there to relax.

The swimming pool was a delight to watch as well as swim with the open view of the backwaters at one end and the temperature control of the water making sure that we can enjoy a swim at anytime of the day.
The restaurant was also awesome and provided a wide variety of veg and non veg options. A special mention to the juice bar for the wonderful juices.

The resort also arranges for boat rides in the backwaters, which is refreshing a very good experience.

We had a really great time here and will definitely come back for more.

We had our College mates meet with spouses from 15/2/2020 to 17/2/2020 in Whispering Palms Resort, Kumarakom.

This resort is a small but compact place but beautifully laid out. The entrance to the Lobby has greenery on both sides of the pathway. On the other side of the Lobby is the beautiful swimming pool seamlessly merging with the Vembanad lake.

The Cottages are very comfortable with neat bathrooms. Every room is provided with Tea/coffeemaker and a mini fridge.

The food provided was excellent with a wide variety of dishes and dessert. The Banquet room is air-conditioned and can occupy 100 people.

The Staff led by their Resort Manager Sandeep were extremely courteous and went out of their way to provide comfort to our stay. Mr.Sandeep is an excellent leader and a very calm person with clarity of thinking even during crisis situation.

I had liased with Mr.Sreeraj of Reservations for bulk booking in this resort. Very efficient handling by him for a smooth and pleasant experience.

Areas of improvement: They have to speed up their check-in process when bulk booking is handled so waiting time is less.

Overall, an excellent stay and full credit to Sandeep and his team for making our stay memorable.

Such a wonderful property. We stayed in a cottage with the plunge pool and I must say we had a memorable experience staying there for a day. The courteous staff, well-maintained property, common swimming pool with a stunning view of the Vembanad Lake and the restaurant serving good food would make this a top priority destination for holiday. A very special note of thanks to the resort manager Mr. Sandeep for his warm hospitality. I'm certainly going to visit this place again.

It was overall a good experience and we got all our rooms upgraded to lake view. They had good Kathakali performance followed by the 24th Dec Gala Dinner which we felt was ok ok. It got very crowded after the performance and as it was very hot, management was not ready for the same. Though they charged extra for gala dinner but we felt it was quite on the regular side with food getting over as soon as they fill them. Rooms were nice and good lake view. They have also arranged for a tuk-tuk when someone had to go out to town to buy some medicine.

I got a good deal through Yatra. I and my wife had a very pleasant stay at the Abad Whispering Palms Lake Resort situated right beside the Vembanad lake. The room was very clean.
All the staff were very courteous and very helpful. Check-in and Check-out were a breeze. Food was very good. The dinner buffet is more than worthy for Rs.600/-. So is the complimentary breakfast. I think the other residents felt the same. This was evident from the number of times the restaurant staff kept replenishing the dishes.

I would gladly recommend this resort to my friends and relatives at this price point.

We stayed here for one night. The resort is at the banks of vembanadu lake, and offers stunning views in the evening and early mornings.
The cottages are pretty spacious and clean, bathrooms are quite big and every cottage has a sit out. Our cottages were lake facing, so the view was indeed picturesque.
The Breakfast spread was huge, with too many options to chose from. However the a la carte is priced on the higher side, and they do not serve alcohol.

The place is beside the lake (bt then so is every other resort in kumarakom)and hence gets good mark for location..bt service n food bring down the rating of the place..we had two garden facing rooms (v poorly maintained garden with a greenish waterbody which is dangerous if u gt smal kids in ur party as the fence is nt tall or strong) fr 2 nights..better if u get lake facing rooms.

Our package had a complimentary motor boat ride which ws gud..u can also do one of the shikara rides..both r highlights of te stay as they take u into the backwaters n back..choose evening time fr motor boat n day time fr shikara as shikara has a hood n ur protected frm the harsh sun

Breakfast ws v rudimentary..funny part ws them importing fish fr their restaurant when the place is known fr fresh local catch..v had our diner frm a place called kilikoodu toddy shop (good family place n lip-smacking food-non veg though)..its a bit far frm the hotel n we ride an auto (tuk tuk) to the place.. te hotel had arranged fr the auto..a la carte lunch frm hotel restaurant ws lack lustre..

Tip: if u havent bukd ur transport to go to ur next destination before hand, it can b cumbersome getting it frm te hotel or frm ride sharing apps..v had a dificult time geting our ride back to ernakulam

v drove dwn frm aleppey (tuk a Tavera frm railway station-overpriced (price as per te signboard at te taxi station) fr the condition of te vehicle)

We had an amazing time here. The resort is at the backwaters and also have their own boats which u can take for a ride for a nominal fee. We had the lake view room and the morning and evening view was just spectacular. Not exact infinity pool but still the pool has the amazing view of the backwaters. The staff is also amazing and polite. Sandeep their manager is also very friendly and knows English, hindi well for the tourists. We had an amazing 2 days in this quiet and peaceful place
