We had an amazing Houseboat trip at Kerala backwaters. The staff was so caring and polite. The bed and houseboat room were comfortable, the boat is spacious and the food is absolutely amazing. Will surely recommend to others.

The houseboat is well maintained and gives you the private feel as there is only one bedroom, a dining room and the open space outside. The staff is also really good and the best part was the food prepared....Real Keralite food. The only problem I saw in the boat was its load taking capacity....As even after parking in the night it was unable to take the load of just one ac in the bedroom. The owner really needs to work on the same.

We opted for a day cruise - just the two of us. We were met at Nova Holiday Cottage by Bindu, the captain. He took us to the boat (5 minutes walk) and showed us round. Although we weren't staying overnight, we were shown the bedroom (and en-suite shower room ) which was large, clean and had a big window to the side. I was slightly alarmed at the huge numbers of houseboats to start with and felt like we were going to be cruising en masse but Bindu soon broke free and took us on very quiet backwaters. He moored at a fish stall in case we wanted to buy any "snacks" and we did end up buying three huge tiger prawns (more like langoustine) and the on board chef cooked them for my husband. I am vegetarian and I had three curry dishes and we both had rice and poppadums. Lunch was very very tasty and we agreed that it was probably one of our best Kerala meals. After another hour cruising, we were offered coffee and irresistible banana fritters. We were stuffed! The cruise lasted six hours which was perfect. Finally, if you have any physical disability then getting on and off the boat might be an issue - I am not disabled but am not good on gangplanks or stepping over wide gaps so do bear this in mind…

The price of Rs, 16500/ is excessive for house boat trip just for one night.The boat starts from its shore around 2:00PM. The boat travels just Two and half hour trip and during evening 5:30PM all houseboat parks at an Isolated location. And morning within one hour it reaches where it starts from. The only charm is that you can spend some time with your family. There were hundreds of agencies renting houseboat. I did not found anything special on houseboat

This is my second trip with nova houseboats and again it was absolute value for money. We were collected and transferred easily . The owner , Eloise baby met us ( love writing his name) On board our boat and offered refreshments and settled us on our starboard and port recliners ...then off we went backing out to the sound of a guiding whistle blast from chef on the back Wow this time We had an air-con dining room front of boat Again , with a different crew,The food was top notch flavours and imaginative served with a smile by our chef Captain was a lovely man even gave us a turn at the wheel Our room was fresh and the sheets white as white You guys can't do wrong

Although a very good surrounding, stay itself was bit disappointing. What i expected from the luxury houseboat was a very good food and good service, houseboat was itself clean and nice but a understaffed. food was strictly OK, in the evening i even found the staff drinking outside the room which was scary. there were lizards, and mosquitoes in the room.
